Hi jsj, I haven't heard of the Oracle team being in Australia, but I believe some of them are Aussies and New Zealanders. We aren't maxi yacht racers, where we are. I would assume they may be up in the Whitsundays or New South Wales. Although we are interested, those yachts are a might too rich for our blood! LOL

Wrenn, I was wondering the same. Is Goldie maybe meant to be with you? Just a thought!

Otceb, I hope your visit goes well too.

Maybe packing up to move can be something you do down the track, I have to tell you, this big one nearly  did me in! It was over 7 months of non stop, full on, work, to find a new place, get the other house ready for sale,  travel 300km back and forward checking on the renovations to the new one, organizing all the appliances, timber, tiles, bathroom etc etc etc packing up 15 years of house and business, offloading the surplus and then the actual move and set up of the new house. We even had the boat sent here on a long loader. Gosh, I hadn't even really thought about it till I wrote all that down! LOL I am exhausted even thinking about it. M x

All this talk about boating and kayaking is making me green with envy! Our weather has gotten much warmer (icicles are gone) but has a long ways to go yet. Yesterday we drove around a lake in Canada that we visit, and it was peppered with ice-fishing houses, saw the one dh and his Canadian buddy go to.. if any of you have ever seen the movie Grumpy Old Men that is what it reminds me of!!Smile

Otceb, take care of yourself and your fatigue, I still get very tired at time, but I am older than you too, but it is frustrating too. Hope Mother's visit went ok.

Idesim and GB are you getting more snow? thought maybe by the look on weather map this morning you might be.. but at least it wont last long. Thanks for the pics GB, love your view of mountains, I dont like heights but like to look at mountain and not drive thru them. Hope you are getting rested up from your ordeal.

Zills, how is the rash and allergy? Just what you dont need.

Wren, Goldie must love being with you! maybe she is yours now!

Ariom, glad you had a nice visit and connected with the little one.. they are so fun, love their little minds just soaking up everything and the fun things they say, sometimes funny and sometime embarrassing!  also so wondering about how Bobo is doing? pretty worried when nothing posted..

Take care everyone and hello to all.

Checking in because I don't want you to worry.  I have been throwing up.  Didn't right after sx, but throwing up now.  Not sure if it is an infection (but I have no fever, no other signs of infection), a stomach virus (our princess threw up overnight the day after my surgery, or the meds I am taking (killer antibiotics).  Today I walked our princess to school -- DLLP has the car -- then came home and threw up, alternately, in the toilet and the bathroom sink.

Eating these cracker-like cookies DLLP brought home, sipping tea, and working (!) from bed.  Just finishing work, actually.  And then I'm going to lie down.  Nausea is terrible.  Wasn't really eating much protein for the past two days, and I know that's important.  Just doing toast, miso soup, etc.

Birdie, Goldie sounds so special.  She's so attuned to what you are doing.  Can you keep her?  And then just do the vet appointments to help the shelter, but hold off on fostering?  I think Goldie is The One.  Hoping Idesim's mother is well.

MD arrives tomorrow.  Staying until Friday.  Hope she will be on best behavior.  Hoping she will not play the 'I prefer Wboy, I am going to be extra hard on our princess' game, because I really cannot tolerate it.  Too focused on the present (throwing up) right now to worry about how the area looks.  Haven't fully looked.  PS appt tomorrow (won't see him, only the idiot PA who missed any sign of infection before; I hate her).  Hoping to get the drain pulled.  That's why I agreed to see her -- she was the only one free.  Could have waited for a later appt, but hoping to teach without a drain in.

Bobogirl... just a quick  question... does MD stand for "Mommie Dearest"? I had figured out the DLLP and was glad to know I was right on target. My fil is gay and he and my mil have been married for 50 years and  had a "life partner" for 25 years. They are planning on going to Hawaii for their 50/25 anniversary this year. Our son thinks of the LP as "Uncle" and I must say the two can get in more trouble when they are together. His Uncle adores him and spoils him mercilessly... LOL.

I have been back reading the thread from the  beginning and have gotten to May 2013... so lots still to catch up on. I have been worried about you, we all have been :) and hate that you have been throwing up. I hope the appointment tomorrow goes well and if not, then just bitch slap her as you leave.

I go back to the PS tomorrow and can't wait to see her face when I tell her there will be no recon and to make me flat and sassy... I still just cannot justify otherwise. I am good with my decision and am just ready to get this all going.  I dread having the lumpectomy first, but am realizing this is the way it will be and I just need to put the big girl panties on and deal with it.

Oh goodness... my DS is on spring break this week and has been at the store shopping with his granny. He just called and asked if I wanted to go to lunch with them since that would get her out of the store... ROFLMBAO (rolling on floor laughing my bionic a$$ off).. Got to love him. I am glad that he is so close to all of his g-parents... they all mean the world to him. He is getting ready to go camping and fishing with my folks this week and am glad that he won't be here to stress over my day surgery Friday.

Well... off to that luncheon now... huggz to all and be blessed,

    Stacey

Bobo, Try ginger. Cut up fresh ginger and make tea. You can suck on dried ginger if you can find it. Even the candied ginger will help some.

Ok... give me a sec to vent please... This Bitch in my office just told me she "hoped" the insurance would take care of my surgeries since it was a "wellness" like her chiropractor... I dang near came across my desk at her and scathingly explained that there is a difference in "preventative" BRCA1 surgeries and her chiropractor. Of all the self serving, idiotic, misinformed, ignorant, hypocritical people in this world... she is the QUEEN B! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... (sorry for the cussing...)

On to more positive thoughts: Vintage~ I will keep you close in my thoughts and prayers on Thursday... I know all will go well... Bobo... Wren is right... ginger will help.. even if you can only tolerate a sip or two of ginger ale. Watch out and make sure you don't get dehydrated...

Took another quiet rest day Sunday.  I didn't realized just how stressed I was over the whole flooding mess.  Some rain today and possibly some snow tomorrow, then several more days of rain. Highs in the 40's maybe up to low 50's this week, the nights will be below freezing until Saturday.  We are still under Flood Watch until this evening.  There is no more snow on the hills around me so I don't expect any more flooding here. (crossing fingers)

Ariom, glad to hear you had such a nice visit with your friends.  Sounds like Dex had a good time visiting too!!

Thanks Fia,  yes this area is gorgeous.  I am not a city girl at all. I am really hoping to get something worked out over the Summer that will stop this flooding issue.

jsj, so happy you had a great get away and were able to put bc on the back burner for a while!! Will be in the bag for you tomorrow if needed.  I forgot, are you having a BMX?  If so, I am having a hard time figuring out why they would need to do a lx before hand. They are going to be taking all the tissue with the BMX and will do path on all of it, why have an unnecessary extra sx before the BMX? Doesn't make any sense to me.

otc, I think the flooding here is done for this season, at least I sure hope so!!  I don't think I could deal with it again!  I started snapping photos when I realized this was going to be a bad flood. I wanted to document everything just in case the worst were to happen.  Thankfully it didn't!!  Hope you have a great visit with your mom.  Sounds like DS's little girl friend is training him right early! ;) LOL just kidding!

Well Wren, what do you think?  Could Goldie have already found her forever home?  Sounds like she is really happy with you, and you could still do the other things for the shelter. Just saying....

Going to post this and go on to the next page.

    Hugs!

Grammab~ I am BRCA1 and have a b9 lump in my breast. I have asked why, if my first biopsy showed b9 papilloma, why I have to go through this lumpectomy/biopsy. Why can't I just have the pbm and get it over with. My MRI came back ok other than the "invader"... so I am really not sure...

Oh dear, bobo, so sorry you are having nausea and throwing up problems. I sure hope it passes soon!! Yes, ginger any way you can get it down, and can you keep down some warm vegetable broth/bouillon? You may need the salt with all the upchucking you're doing.  Hope MD is not a PITA while she is there.  (((hugs)))

jsj, how clever of DS!  Have a great lunch. Oh dear, kudos to you for not bit¢h slapping that idiotic woman!!  Be prepared to get other ridiculous comments along the way.  People can be so unthinking at times.  But she takes the cake!!

Vintagegal, in the bag for you on Thursday.  Wishing only the best for you. ((hugs))

    Hugs for everyone!!

jsj, if I were you, I'd ask at the ps appt.  Can't hurt if it will save you an extra surgery.  They are going to take everything anyway, why not just test after that?

Oh, just realized, are you going to have your ovaries removed at the time of BMX also if the lx is positive for bc?

Ask the b$itch if her chiro also is also an oncologist. Be prepared to hand her a definition so she can look at it. Just another reason I don't like chiros. She may tell you to smoke asparagus for a cure!!

She really just drives me crazy in general. She claims to be a "Christian" yet sits in judgment of those around her. I have done my level best to not react to her, but many days, she had me leaving here in tears. My DH, Sailman, told me to vent to you ladies and that you would understand and  be supportive. I should have known she would be this way, she was horrid when I had my back issues that resulted in the fusion. I finally showed her my x-ray of the rods, screws, and bone cages that hold it all together just to get her to shut up. I even had an informative visit with her a few weeks ago, thinking she finally got it, but I was wrong.. Oh well, asi es la vida (such is life).

    Hello everyone!

jsj, seems strange doesn't it? I would be putting on my very assertive voice and demanding a really good explanation why there would be 2 separate surgeries for the same breast that would be coming off anyway. Preparing for surgery twice just isn't fair.

That woman in your office needs to be Bitch slapped really hard! Wellness, indeed! Don't ever apologize for cussing here, we've gotten better but we used to be a right band of gutter gums in the early days!

You have to wonder how those words can leave the lips of these idiots, some of the stories on other threads here about stupid things that have been said, are truly unbelievable. It would be hard for me to ever talk to that woman again, without seeing her in a very different light, no actually it would be really hard for me to talk to her again period! I am sorry you have to deal with her at all. I can't believe you have read all that way back to the start. I can barely remember what we were talking about back then! MD is Mommie Dearest, there is much about her in earlier posts by Bobo. Good on you for making the decision to remain flat, I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tell the BS that there won't be a fee for recon as part of the surgery! Ooops, did I just impIy there is a financial gain to be had in that surgery? LOL I just can't really see any other real reason, for the constant push by these Surgeons, really, what do they care how you look, or feel, for that matter, after it is all done? I hope you had a great lunch! M x

gB, I am not surprised that you have realized how hard you've been working and how stressed you have been. That usually happens when there is a lull after the fact! You've been running on adrenaline.

I meant to say in the last post to you , how beautiful your view is. Those mountains look like a postcard. I was just so taken aback by the big chunk of land missing, I failed to mention the beauty of it! Take care of yourself! M x

Wren, I am a believer in ginger for nausea too. I always have it on hand, and cook with it all the time.

I hope Bobo has stopped throwing up, that is just a shitful way to feel.

ndgirl, that sounds like a nice outing you had. I still think it is so exotic to just pop over to Canada to do some shopping or have lunch. I guess it is just that we are so isolated here. We have to cross lots of water to get anywhere from Aus.

I did have a great time with that little girl. I envy everyone who has grand kids. It is funny how you just assume that things will be a certain way. My parents were the most sensational Grandparents to Bec. There were times I almost had to fight them to get her home, because they adored her so much, and she them. The girls here, Bobo and Zills have been so generous with their children, and keep me in the loop with much loved photos and even drawings! Bec has pretty well decided that even if she had a Husband, she'd be unlikely to have children now. Mx

Hey there Bobo, I am so sorry to hear you are throwing up. I am so hoping that it is from the Antibiotics and not an infection.

You poor thing, it has been a total nightmare for you from start to now. I just hope you can get passed this and that when you do finally see the results it will  be a more pleasant result than before, and better than you have been expecting. At least you have had some time alone with out MD being there. Hopefully she will have outings planned for the kids and you can get some rest while she's there.

I hope, if you have already been to the check up that you restrained yourself from Bitch slapping that hateful wench, or better still, my all time fave from where I come from, the move called the "Scottish, or Glasgow Kiss" which is a head but! LOL Anyway, I hope you are feeeling a bit better and can let us know how you're getting on....M x

Spookiesmom, what happened to your Avatar? Suddenly Spookie has gone sideways!

I am with you on the judgement of Chiros, I was injured very badly by one 14 years ago and spent a week in the acute neurological ward because of his error. I managed to dodge the laminectomy bullet because I had a great neurologist.

jsj, I am sorry that woman is such a thorn. I have had a gut full over the years of these so called Christians who sit in judgement and have no problem expounding their limited knowledge to people with genuine issues. The problem is that the ones getting the raw end of the deal are usually too well mannered to really set these idiots straight.

Vintage, will be thinking about you too, and in the bag if you need support! M x

    A. Spookie has always been sideways on my phone. Maybe the upgrade last week has something to do with?

Chiros just seem to be in it for the $$$. They really aren't Doctors, but yet they mess with your spine, and try to cure everything wrong with you with strange "supplements" no way in hell will they get their $ grubbing hands on my spine. There's way too much titanium in my neck, and more needed in lumbar.

Hope all is going well for you?  My local newspaper is doing an investigation report on what/how certain trauma hospitals charge. The FOR PROFIT hospitals. Guess what Shands is? Guess who owns it?  HCA!!!  The same outfit Rick Scott claimed to have no knowledge about screwing Medicare before he sold it.

So maybe all that has something to do with why your PS has been such a S.O.B.

He needs to turn a profit?

Thanks ladies, I do agree with you and my DH was furious when I told him what the bitch had said. It is just  so hard sometimes to let her roll and forget about it. She and I are the only two in our part of the department and let's just say I am not one of the "chosen ones" and she is. So, I have to be super polite and professional and just give her the ole "thumbs up" (which really means eff you!)  I did have a delightful lunch with my DS and my own MD. I  am hoping the PS agree with me about the extra surgery. She didn't understand why he would do it that way if the MRI was good. She even had the center send her the results so we could go over them. So, fingers crossed, maybe I can do it all at once and then a few weeks later have the hyst. My gyno said it would be a relatively simple procedure. With 3 little holes and pull it out the vagina. Easy right? I trust the man explicitly, he has been my doc for 20 years and delivered our DS but it really doesn't sound quite that simple :).

jsj, I had a vaginal hysterectomy in '95.  It truly is that easy and you have a lot less to heal with no incision on the outside.  I bounced back within a week or so. Good luck with the ps tomorrow.

Oh Zills, been there done that, last Oct when my phone went through the washing machine!!  They told me at the AT&T store to disassemble it & let it sit in the rice for a week.  They were able to retrieve my contacts but not my photos. Hope you have better results.  I always have my phone on me in case of emergency. It is my fail safe/"I've fallen and can't get up device".  I don't have a land line so my cell is my only phone. I keep it in my pocket at all times.

Jsj, with you at the ps, hope it goes the way you want, and hope not too much stress with the b--ch! Why do some people just have to make life miserable?

Good luck on the phone situation Zills.. we have to have land service here or else buy a extender/booster because we are in a dead zone for service. But we use them when away.

Thinking of you Bobo, sounds like Spookiesmom may be on to something with your dr/hospital.

Last night we had Bunco club and is there any better medicine than tears running down cheeks laughing? After our games we have a little lunch and visit. The hostess has a very spoiled boxer dog and  she jumped up on the couch beside one of the gals that isnt really a dog lover and laid her head on her chest and would just start into her eyes! and then look at the rest of us as if to say " what are you all laughing at"! Boxer kinda looked like an old man with no teeth, chewing and a little slobber!! notice I said old man and not woman?

Good luck Vintage, we all are here for you. Let us know how you are when you are able. Hugs!

Ariom, I think you would be a fantastic Grandma, but if Bec chooses no children that is her life, but I bet there is a foster Grandparent program where you live, maybe that would be an option. There are so many kids that need a grandparent. A friend of our oldest son has 2 young kids and both sets of g.parents are dead and I feel for them. I was very young when my gpa died, about 4, and the other gpa was dead before I was born and when I see how our gd interact with my hubby I so wish I could have had that.. any kids would be blessed to have you as a grandma!!
