    Enough about me.

Ariom hope those inserts help so you can get back to walking with Dex. Does the weather make it worse? I bet the doctors don't know how to give compliments. You do rites for Pete's sake. You rock!

Bobo. Why the ice pack? Hot flashes or pain or weight? Are you having to paint or the rooms ready to move in? You will rock flatness when it comes. It will be such a relief. I don't understand why some women don't get it. My sister is one of those.

GrammaB. Glad you found the grabber. It will be very popular with your grandchildren.

Granwe. When do we get results? Are you going to let the OG out on his own again? I bet you enjoyed the time apart too.

Wren. You've been quiet. Was wondering about you.

Ndgirl. You are too busy for me. Send me some of your umph.

Idesim. How many herceptin treatments? Did you say every Wed?

WTF, indeed, is an "Angel Closet!"  It's a terrible name.  F that store.  Those ladies are dimwits, they flip-flop all over the shop in flip-flops, if I had to listen to that noise all day I would rip someone's head off with my bare hands.

I'm no angel!  I'm going to whip my cutlet out and throw it at that lady!  Wait.  How did I get the idea to do that?  I seem to remember someone I know doing that once... some bad*ass rock chick...

    :)

Z, cafe sounds great.  Give the quiche a bite.  These days I try to give everything a bite.  God knows I have someone around here to eat the rest should the need arise.  School supplies -- I would say they do not count as retail therapy, except that I LOVE school supplies.

I had surgery in April -- they took out a pretty big chunk, I sure do know others have it worse -- but it aches after a long day, or when it rains, or when you are packing everything you own.  And I've got 'the claw' back.  I had just lost him from the first surgery.  Must say, perhaps those packs will help with HF as well.  Not yet, though.

Are you all set for tomorrow, Z?  In a good place?  Hope you have a big bag ready for DH to carry around.

Meantime... I am in rare form today, and my only aim is to completely disrupt Idesim's Herceptin appointment.  "peaceful," is it?  A "chance to catch up with friends?"  F that!  I'm getting us walked out of that place.

Example: should there be any pinch with the iv, or port, or any kind of needle, I will be throwing my voice:  Ouch!  F0ck that.  I'm going to give you a slap.  Go practice on your own leg Farm boy!  That's just a tiny example of what's in store for those idiots at Dana Farber at today's Herceptin appointment.

Spoiling for a fight.  Lucky for me I don't have to look hard to find one!

No, Z, the whole place needs to be painted, it is a mess, and we're doing the children's room in this special Waldorf paint technique with natural pigments, it is so beautiful!  Google any Waldorf school.  They will show you the inside of the classrooms.  It's a beautiful thing, and it helps with the child's brain development, the special colors, each chosen for a stage of development.  And it promotes a calm frame of mind.  And it's natural -- no fumes. Shoot. Lost my reply but found out how to do emoticons on my phone. Yea!

Have you seen the new crayons? Come 8 to a pack in the same color family like blue, light blue, dark blue, etc. Bet my store doesn't have them.

Will google the paint job. Maybe I can convince my DH to do the boy's room.

Idesim. Bobo is getting rowdy and spilling stuff. I call shotgun on the way home. 😛

The technique is called Lazure.  Google Lazure.com.  Have not seen those crayons!  At the special school of our Princess, they have natural crayons made of real beeswax!  We have both kinds at home, though.

WTH are you gonna pay all that money on jeans for and then buy a tunic to cover most of them??  Are you taking the piss out of us? THAT is one of my favorite sayings from watching the Aussie shows.   I started watching the block sky high last night... they have to do a bedroom and bathroom in 48 hours that is in horrible shape..  the bathroom has to be stripped and retiled.. refloor.. etc.   I can see Moira floating through all the rubble with her gutter gums wearing some sort of  ensemble.

Am laughing because GrammaB has been brainwashed on the bracelets.. GrammaB.. thank you so much for sharing your diet with me.. yours is the first diet that makes sense to me and seems like something I could work with.

Boy, lots to catch up on as usual.. i think I need a cuppa coffee.  BRB

Bobo.. I love the top and jacket.. wow how beautiful and classy! So you are in the mood for a fight.. good thing we arent closer cause I feel that way today too.. dont like the feeling tho. My friends daughter still has not heard the results of her melanoma/node biopsy! WTF.. how long can it take, it has been a week now. I am feeling her pain and said let me call them! She didnt seem to think it was a good idea.. wonder why? I think I am on the list for knockers, dont think I answered you Bobo, or maybe I did, little scatter brained these days. How could that ditz not know what "rocks" even this old lady knows that!! and I will be 65 next month.. but maybe because I have teenage grandkids?? Dont overdue painting but it sounds beautiful, I am going to google those site. Good luck

GrammB.. I chuckle about the grabber because last year when my 2 g. sons were with us they found one in our old store and boy did they have a blast with it.. but I was about ready to hide it again..never knew where they were grabbing next! but it was fun too. Sounds like you will be very ready for surgery or as ready as we can be and know we are all here for you!

Zill, with you tomorrow for sure.. your bakery sounds great, hope it sets with your tummy!

Ariom, I feel your pain on the feet issue, I had plantar facitis, spelling on that? oh how painful, I was working in a greenhouse and could barely limp around.. had shots of cortisone, bought expensive inserts, excercised, did the whole gamut and the only thing that really helped was just staying off of them but that is almost impossible for me to do. We owned and operated a grocery store for 26 years and always on my feet, but didnt wear the "sensible" shoes, I love shoes and wore what I thought was fashionable, but guess I am paying the price. Feet are better now and can still wear heels at times, but cant go barefoot in the house or I am hurting in no time! I never liked to go barefoot outside ever so that is ok. Hope you  get some relief soon. Chuckles about you being Colin's mom.. you look like a young beautiful woman from you profile picture.. how dare that dr?? Go get him Bobo!! She is a hoot, love her spunk.. and punk!

Granwe.. so funny about OG, our town is so small that my dh couldnt get away with anything!! sometimes that is good cause small comunnites fight for one another but sometimes gets old that everyone knows everyone's business.. oh well.. it it what it is!!

    Take care everyone!

Happy belated Birthday, Zills. I go every three weeks until December (1 year), then they are threatening to keep me on an additional year.  Seems they have great fear I will have a recurrence and my cancer was very aggressive.  I really don't mind.. whatever it takes.. the major SE of Herceptin is heart damage, so I have an echocardiogram every 3 months and am closely monitored during Herceptin treatments.

How are you feeling after the scope? Any throat discomfort?

I do not understand why a big painted horse in the lobby of a clinic? haha.

GrammaB.. see what bobogirl hasn't told you is, you can't have just one.  You need multiple bracelets to make the tingly sound that is the allure of the Alex and Ani bracelets.  They are like crack and Bobogirl just got you hooked.. so she is now your dealer.

    That's another good one!  Fracking!

Granwe, that is horrible about the scare!  Why can't they think first before doing stupid sh1t like that???

Bobogirl are you coming commando as well as drunk to my appt?   You're starting to scare the sh!t out of me as well. I need you here today for the F'ing copier that is jamming again.. and it doesn't jam in one nice neat little spot.. no this F'er jams in 6 different places every time it jams which is constantly now and the repairman actually had the BALLS to just say to me... "you have to expect these things to happen ever once in awhile" Like I am some overreacting stupid female... when we've had these @SSHOLES out here 9 times since last Thursday.  He is so TAKING THE PISS OUT OF ME.

My mother did the jiggety jig when we were little.. I got the warm fuzzies when I read that!

Bobogirl, are you gonna get the punk hairdo like that model wore?  Hell, I'd be happy if I even had that much hair now lol.  I can totally see it with violet streaks in the front.

We are all in for a sh!tstorm now that has discovered her picture posting powers.

I already do have that hairdo.  But better.  I am wearing underpants today.   They make sense with the yoga pants with bite holes in them about which I told you earlier.

Love how our Idesim pronounces ensemble in the French way.  I am having a hot flash.  Nd, what does it take to get you girls to wear some decent shoes?  Must you all become lesbians in order to wear some Earth clogs?  Or dansko?  Or the dreaded Birkenstock?  Broke my ankle in NY years ago -- stepped in a large pothole, it was spectacular, I may have told you -- and all my cute shoes went out the window at that moment, and never came back.

I am NOT getting the tunic, it is way too expensive.  I am not against showing my bum, I can tell you that.  It's good.  Plus am rail thin at the moment.  I'll show it to you right now!  Don't tempt me!

That sh1tbag of a repairman is saying those things because he wants to come back, because then he has a job!  He is probably breaking the machine a tiny bit each time he comes.  The only solution is to become a xerox repair  person at night, in your spare time, and catch him.  It has always been thus.

Are you already back at work from Herceptin?  Or have you not left yet?  Am so drunk I can't remember.  Actually, am packing and making lunch and a fort for two seven year olds.  GrammaB, she is right about the bracelets.  But they are only a little treat.  If you're going to have an eviscerating test of some kind, for example, you can promise yourself a little treat at the end of it.  Idesim got us all hooked on those bracelets: she told us about Zeeberry, offered us 15% off coupon, and let us know it's free shipping, and then sent us on our way.  Z, have you got your seven swords yet?  I have been forgetting to ask you.

Nd, do you care which color of knocks?  Or is comfort more important than color?

I have the haircut except my bangs are shorter. My hair is so fine it won't stand up at that length.

Ndgirl, I found some clogs (like Dansko) at Kmart last year that had fake fur lining. I wore them for houseshoes all winter. They have a bit of a heel and good arch support. I had the planter thing and had to wear a cast at night to get rid of it.

I wear Dansko's all winter. There's a reason every nurse has a pair. They are wonderful for standing for a long time. There's a consignment store near me and someone my size brings in their Danskos.

Bobo, dont care about color, loved the sound of your soft yarn, dont remember what you called it, I trust your judgement on color and softness!!

I will have to check out the bracelets if I am to be in this group I guess, but dont think I can do any snakes.. absolutely hate them! dont want them on my wrist, but I sure love bracelets, always have. Whatever knockers you want to do Bobo is fine with me and please dont worry about getting them done.. you have so much on your plate right now! I wish I could knit some soft socks for this winter!! love the new yarn. Take care. dont overdue... but look who is talking I should take my own advice, but you have little ones that need you, I know you are amazing but please take care of yourself as well.  Chuckling about the shoes, Smile I am not so sensible!! but I learned the hard way! now have to pay a terrific price for a shoe to be comfy, maybe I cant afford bracelets.. HA!

Wren, wish I had a consignment store like that, I also wore a boot at nite for a long time, you know I had never heard the term of plantar fascitis before but after I had it so many people I found to have it and it is tough to get over if we ever do. Had a pt tell me it never really goes away.. my DH couldnt figure out why I was storing my golf balls in the freezer! rolled them on feet every morning.. I have seen Dansko will have to try them. I found a flip flop at K-mart a few years ago called Thera-Shoe and they were cheap and soooo comfy, I bought several pair and now of course they no longer carry them.. but I did find a pair of lime green ones my size at a thrift shop.. was thrilled! I keep checking for more. Sears also carried them because they and Sears are now combined so I always check their clearance sales too, havent had any luck there for 3 years tho. Glad I bough several pair but like I said they are cheap so the arch wears down quicker than most, they have been a lifesaver for me. Thanks for the info

I wish I had a consignment store in which someone dropped off my size!  Am nearly six feet tall.

Did you know there is an EF consignment store?  It's called GREEN EILEEN.  There are two in NY, and one in Seattle.  Right, Wren?  I have never been to one.  I'm sure if I went I would explode.  But then, I don't want to wear anyone's used pants.

The bracelets are not too expensive, with a coupon and free shipping.  As I was just saying to our idesim, I can make that on my back in 15 minutes.  Have to have six  jobs for a reason.  Many, many were the times I'd get a 'windfall' from one job or another, and would not get so much as a lipstick for myself.  We have many needs in our family, as you all know.  Those days are gone.  I'm going to get myself a bracelet if I want it!

For example, I just spent over twenty two hundred dollars on various camps for the children this summer.  Just to have child care.  And now I have none until 3 September: camp is over.  And I'm hiring our sitter by the hour.  Where in there is a treat for mommy?  Bubkiss.  And I had to take extra work to pay for that.  So... I'm having a bracelet.

Dansko is excellent.  They have a vegan range.

Bobo, had no idea that store was there. It's a long way away, but I'll check it out eventually. Wow 6' tall. I have a great niece that tall and a 6'4" gs. I used to be 5'4" and that has shrunk to 5'2". Even petite sleeves and legs are too long. I intend to get back to sewing so I can make clothes that really fit.

Are camps that expensive?  Yikes. I've always loved Dansko.. clogs and designer jeans were a huge thing when I was in Jr. High.  I wasn't allowed the designer jean, but I got the clogs for Easter and nothing made me happier than clonking along all day long :)

Herceptin appt is end of day... hopefully you will have drunk yourself into a heavy sleep by the time we get to the hospital.  Do not breathe your beer breath near Zills... or else!

Who hear things Bobogirl should give us knitting lessons? We learn a stitch a night and then when we are all awesome knitters we can open an online knockers store and make tons of money.

What's for lunch in the fort? Watermelon? :)

GrammaB, please don't bring the grabber with you to the appt.... I'm afraid of what Bobogirl might do with it.

Ariom, sorry about the Rheumatoid, hopefully he can come up with an insert that will help.  F that "good for your age" sh1t!! There are times when I feel like punching someone when they say that!!

I get more and more annoyed with all these "new patient" forms, I've filled out three of them in the last couple of weeks and all the drs belong to the same practice/group! WTF!!  They say they are working on a system so one will only have to do it once for the whole practice/group....but too late for me.

Thanks for the Eileen Fisher name.  Yikes! I think I sucked all the air out of the room when I saw the price of the top!! But yes, it is magical The jeans are awesome too! Good for you bobo for treating yourself! Having just lost 50+/- pounds I am used to looking at clothing that sort of covers the middle of my body.  But now, he11, I'm looking pretty good, don't need to hide anything any more!  But still those prices knocked me over.  Maybe as a super treat one day!  I liked a couple of the tops in the sale area, so there is hope!

Oh bobo, that age comment brought back a memory for me!  My late DH was 21 years older than me.  When we were selling my mom's piano after her death (bc), the mover came to load it up and asked me if my grandfather could help with something.  My grandfather!!  I said, sure my HUSBAND could help, but it wasn't his job and we were paying him to do this work.  I wasn't in an especially good mood that day and was probably kind of rude about it but, WTH don't make assumptions!!

I live alone so there isn't anyone to help if I need to reach something in the beginning.  My grand kids don't come here often , I go to them cheaper for one to fly than 3 or 5. With my back issues it may well come in handy later for picking things up.  I have spinal stenossis and a slipped disc in low back. Already had fusion at C-5/C-6.

And because of my back issues I have been wearing mostly flat shoes, love the Earth Spirit and Dansko shoes!!  I wear mostly clog type shoes except in the winter of course.  Although I did find a pair of sheep wool lined UGG clogs a few years ago that worked a lot of the time. But now the heel is too high for me.  I can't do thong type for fear of getting blisters and all the diabetes issues that could come from an infection. (Yeah, I'm overly cautious, but I watched my husband have his leg amputated as the result of an infection on his foot he hid from me until it was too late.)

bobo, what do you mean real foobs, implants, reconstruction?  No, flat is fine for me, I can rock flat just fine! :D (I can't believe that woman didn't understand that!) I will probably get a bra and the inserts for the few times I might need them since ins will cover them, but don't plan on wearing them much.

LOL Ariom!  I about peed myself, "a foobmoire for dead cutlets"!!

Zills, I think retail therapy would be totally acceptable!  I used to love to shop for school supplies for the kids.  I love paper, notebooks, pens and pencils.  Throw in some backpacks that could accidentally spill over into a new purse for you! ;)

I'll be there for back up for you tomorrow if needed, but I have to go to my pre-op appointment too so may be a bit late.

bobo, I don't envy you having to paint too once you move!  My kids went to Montessori school when they were little, if Waldorf had been an option, that would have been my first choice.

Idesim, it didn't take much brainwashing to get me to get the bracelet!! I love bracelets.  It is sounding like I need to get the OM one also so I can have the "sound".  Maybe that will be my treat for when I get my drains out. You know, the drains are feeling like the worst part for me right now.... odd I know.

You're welcome re the diet info.  It really works and contrary to what all the drs, dietitians, nutritionalists say, carbohydrates are not an essential food group.  Essential Amino Acids (from meat) and Essential Fatty Acids (from healthy fats) are necessary nutrients.  Anyone heard of an Essential Carbohydrate?? No, no such thing, anything in a carb that might be needed by the body, the body can make itself from what is already there.

ndgirl, that waiting sucks!  A week seems like an awful long time to wait.  I had my biopsy on the 3rd of July, because of the Holiday the next day and most people not working the Friday after, I didn't get my results until the 8th.  But at least they had an excuse.

I am so ready for surgery, I just want it to be done!!  And now!! If my DD could have worked things out at work, I actually would have been having it this Friday, but she just couldn't do it, so its the 13th.

Old Battlestar Galactica fan here! Frack this and Frakin' that was abundant in the show!!

wren, I got a pair of the earth spirit slides several years ago too.  I too keep checking for something similar.....  I hate it when they discontinue a style.  I just found something sort of similar at KMart in the sale section, not quite as comfy, but I immediately went on line and bought 2 more pairs.

Idesim, definitely won't bring the grabber, in fact I won't be picking it up until Friday so all is safe for Thursday's appointment. :)) I always wanted to learn to knit, I crocheted a bit about 100 years ago, but now with arthritis in both thumbs, don't think it will be something I can do.  And if the MO wants to put me on Anastrozole, things may be worse!  I'm not sure I will do it, what with my hands and back already compromised.

Camps are even more expensive than that.  They charge by the week.  The charge is as much as (or more than) a month's worth of school-year tuition.

And this week my babysitter is going to make more than I will make.  It has to be done.  Have new job.  And so -- since I am wheeling and dealing so much to make everything happen, dealing with what for me are big sums -- I am not going to sweat a bracelet.  I will just flop down and work a little extra to pay for it.  This last for our Idesim.

B, waiting is the worst part ever!  Like the story in which you were snotty.  I won't be doing any of the painting.  DLLP will do it.  I might help by taping out the rooms.  And I am picking the color.  I am the director of the painting.

I will totes give knit lessons to the group! Magotes (bromance movie humor).  I can do it on the Skype!  And we can open an etsy store and make one million dollars.  Standing by on that.

They had two lunches: org sweet potatoe and roast carrot soup (Vitamix) and raisin toasts at 11; homemade white pizzas and melon at 1.  But not watermelon.  Cantaloupe.  I don't let them have much watermelon.  I can't run out.

Wait.  Now I must have some watermelon.  Pre-op for GrammaB a.m.; Chemo for Z afternoon.  GrammaB, you packin'?  You got ativan?  Look, I make my own wheatgrass.  I went through my 2008 surgery completely without any chemical help (except anaesthetic of course).  But now, after several unsavory encounters, I am never without ativan for major appointments.  Let she who is without sin cast the first stone on that one!

Bobo, I do  know how to knit and pearl, learned that as a kid from a teacher and my Grandma, but I never learned how to put stitches on or off the needles! my Gramm helped me make scarves and slippers with pom-poms! I think I could pick it up again but nobody around here does it, but I know a gal in neighboring town that spoke of making the softest socks. Should have ordered some from here, I may have to look her up again. wow, that is a lot for camp, you are a trooper. will need to make a cool million from our knitting wont we?

I agree with treating ourselves at times.. I never feel bad about spending too much on designer jeans because that is something I wear alot.. if I spent a bunch on a dress or whatever and hardly wore it that might be different. So what is the name and site for the bracelets again?

OMG! are you all on speed?

It has taken me ages to read what you were all up to, while I was sleeping. I haven't made it past the computer yet, again. I so need to just ignore, do the Rites, shower, and then get on here. I am still in my dressing gown, Colin's girl arrives and I can't tear my eyes from the screen, she must think me so rude. They must wonder why I am always disheveled at the computer as they arrive.

I have to get ready and come back later, Colin is going sailing this morning and I must get pics of him on Mystique. I won't be going on the boat, later, it is -1c here this morning, so Dex and I will wear our ski jackets and wave!

Hold those thoughts, I will be back to re read and to answer. M x

Ariom, a question, what are The Rites.

You guys are right, those bracelets are like crack!! I now have 2 more in my shopping cart at ZeeBerry!!

I lost a post and tried to recreate it above.  I forgot to add that no, I'm not "holding".  I keep meaning to ask my PCP for some Ativan or Xanax but keep forgetting. Guess I'll just ask the BS tomorrow.

Xanax takes the edge off but you can function. Or I can. They give me Ativan pre chemo and it makes my sleepy and helps with nausea. Wish I had some now. Have worked myself up into a state over tomorrow's appt. I wish I knew how to control it. Nothing in my bag of tricks is helping. I need to drink, eat and sleep to be strong for tomorrow. It's a 9 am appt.

So GrammaB get yourself something to take the edge off. We all promise the surgery itself is no big deal. The drains aren't either. They are hot and annoying but don't last very long.

I did find a backpack with construction equipment on it and scored some washable markers for 50 cents. Still waiting on the supply list.

Going to try some JS while the meds kick in. May try to choke down a bowl of cereal. Bobo I feel the same way about Cheerios as you do watermelon. Can you grow it next year?

The rites are what makes it possible for her to float around her manor :)  Here's a link

Geez I was there for what seemed like forever, I'm only hooked to IV for an hour, but by the time you're checked in.. etc.  Oh well, it's over for another 3 weeks.  My stomach is a bit upset.

F camps charging so much.. and F the babysitter making more than you do! One my my co-workers sat down and figured out what she actually made after paying for daycare, paying for transportation..etc. etc... and it turned out she only actually made like $200 a week. She ended up saying F this, got a part time job at like the grocery store.. spends more time with her kids and still makes about the same amount every week.

I wish I had other avenues to make money.. but maybe it's best I don't because I would work 24/7.  I used to make candles on the side.. I wasn't getting rich on it, but was making a decent side income.  Only problem was it was just so time consuming.. not only the making the product, but the packaging, shipping..etc.

GrammaB, I'm sorry about your mom and your DH and that was an incredibly rude comment.. people shouldn't be so stupid as to assume anything.  I remember at an old job, there was tenants renting the office space and they had a temp for a couple of days and I have to admit she did look pregnant.. but she wasn't and somebody made the comment of "when are you due" and she started crying.. it was horrible.

Zills & Moira how you feeling today?  F arthritis.. it's just a horrible thing... and I don't understand the "at your age" comments, you're not friggin 90... you're not even old enough here for social security or medicade!  F the young whippersnapper lol

Slippers with pom poms is a great idea as an accompaniment to the knitted knockers.. good thinking ndgirl... now to just get those stitches off your needles!

I'm going to go relax.. long day.. have a great evening and I hope you have a beautiful day Moira.
