Candy, I wish you could come too! I went to Dr Jane Nelson with Austin Cancer Center. She is very well-known and I know a few other ladies that have gone to her and were happy also. I hope your last TX goes well!

I also went to Austin Cancer Center. My surgeon is Dr. Caroline Coombs-Skiles. Loved her. Her nurse navigator Gina is absolutely amazing.

Terri - would Coombs -Skiles and Nelson share the same nurse navigator ? They are in the same office, right?

Holli, Yes, Gina was also with Dr Nelson. I almost went to Coomb-skiles when Dr N was on vacation and couldn't get my LX done as quickly as I wanted, but, it all worked out!

    Hi Yall!

Hubby is not doing well. He has lost 20# and is very weak and confused. He receiving daily infusions. USC wants him back, but he is too weak and out of it to travel. Praying that he will turn around or his dr will admit him and then have him transported to USC. Ugh :((( I could use a meet up...

Candy - yippee will be dancing 2/4 for you! Got some great leads on your team.

Ok! I want pics! Lots of pics! Will miss yall

Cindy - what words to say? Selfishly, I hate it that I won't get to meet you this weekend, but I look forward to the time we will. I am so sorry for the pain your DH and you are suffering. Just so sorry. And angry. You gently hug us and carry us in your pockets and in your heart and you must know all your TX Hill Country BC Warriors are doing the same for you. Much love, Linda.

Cindy- sending lots of love to you and your husband. In his pocket and yours. We are all here for you.

I made reservations for 9 people.

Terri, Bonney, myself, Vicki (is Zelda coming?), Linda, Holli, possibly Candy. They told me they could not add anymore, but if I have to downsize, we can do that. So anyone going, give me a last RSVP by Saturday morning so I can tell them.

Cindy - sending you hugs and prayers. I would love to get to meet you next time. Stay strong and know that even those who have never met you in person are thinking of you.

I'm so excited about Sunday!! This will be my first time to meet y'all in person.

Terri- I think I saw Dr. Nelson at my last check up. Dr. Coombs-Skiles was on maternity leave.

    Hi ladies,

I can't wait to see you all!

Candy, hope you can make it.

Cindy, pls update us when you can. Wish you could join us. Sending hugs your way!

Chaos, Kelsey, are y'all going to make it?

Holli, Linda, can't wait to meet you both! Dr. Nelson is a great surgeon. Her bedside manner lacks sometimes, but I think it's probably due to dealing with BC day in and day out. Love her anyway.

PM me if anyone needs to ride from RR with Bonney and I.

thanks Jen', for taking care of this for us!!

Sorry for last minute cancellation.  Running fever - probably the office crud going around.  Certainly don't need to be around anyone still in treatment.  Dang....so looking forward to meeting new ladies!

Ladies - here is my blog post. Got good news in there...

    ------------------------------

    Good news and Praise X2

posted by Holli on Wednesday, February 4, 2015

    Two praises for today!!

My blood tests were normal. Praise God. Just need to figure out why I'm so tired and have these broken capillaries.

I didn't say this before, but I was petrified I had Leukemia. I hear these fears are normal and diminish after time... The fear that any little bump, bruise, or ache is the cancer coming back...

    But enough of that...

    Super Awesome News coming up....

    Get ready...

    I'm going to Hawaii!!

I applied back in August through an organization called "athletes 4 cancer" to attend a camp for cancer survivors ages 18-40 in Hawaii. I found out tonight that I was chosen to go.

    *******One week free in Hawaii******

One week to focus on me. One week to spend time with 15 other young survivors (age 18-40) of all types of cancer. One week to heal emotionally and spiritually. One week to spend in paradise to connect with nature and My Heavenly Father and Almighty God. One week to (despite my scars and body distortions) become whole again. To become whole again, not just for me but for my family and all those I love.

The catch is I have to get myself there and back.

I know God is faithful. If it was in His will to allow me to be chosen for this experience then I know it will be in His will to allow me to get there (and oh yeah... Back home again :0).

I feel selfish being so excited to be going by myself though. I will miss Ronnie and my babies so much. My next post I will share with everyone why I applied and hopefully shed more light on why I want to go.

    Aloha!!

    Holli :0)

OMG Holli!!! So happy for you. I am taking first dibs for any extra room you have in your suitcase, carry on, pockets or whatever! When should I be ready?:). God is so good!

Jen', thinking of you-safe travels. I hope everything goes as good as it possibly can for you and BF.

Cindy, how is the Hubbers? I hope you can come back to TX soon.

    Candy, how are you feeling?

Linda, when is your last TX?. I hope SE's are minimal for you.

How is everyone else doing? Chaos, Kelsey, Zelda, Vicki, Jana...? Sorry if I missed someone. I think about you ladies often. You have truly been a huge support for me and I can't express how grateful I am.

    ((HUGS))

Hello, Ladies! Finished week 10 of Taxol - 2 more to go! Not very graceful or pretty, but I AM finishing! Lost one big toenail, but everything else is hanging on. Tired, still getting iron, joint pain, blah, blah, blah. Lord, I get sick of hearing myself!

It was wonderful meeting Terri, Bonney, Jeni, and Holli in San Marcos! I felt uplifted and inspired and wish we could do this weekly! It will be great meeting everyone else - maybe March?

Holli - congrats on the Hawaii trip! It couldn't happen to a better person! Looking forward to hearing more...

Jeni - take care of yourself and your big heart while you are helping out BFand family.

Terri - thanks for sharing your wise advice and please tell Bonney how great it was to meet her.

Vicki, hope you are feeling better and Cindy you and DH are in our best thoughts.

    ✌️❤️Linda

Hang in there Linda! There is a light at the end of the tunnel...I think you'll see it soon:).

Y'all sure have been quiet lately.

I got notice today that I didn't make the Casting For Recovery for this Spring. Will apply again in the Fall. Cindy, you need to come and rub some good luck on me:)...

Having DS and family over for dinner tonight. Those grandbabies will be driving before I blink an eye...

    Linda - counting down...soon! Hang in there your pockets are full {{{squeeze}}}

Terri - thanks for cheering us on!

    Candy - thinking of you!

Vic - are you feeling better? Hope so! Now where's that list of all the fun stuff we get to enter with our c card...

Jeni - I'm watching DA looking for you upstairs!

Kelsey - how are you doing? Rads? Check in when you can.

Chaos - hope you are catching your breathe and feeling better.

Today was hard. Hubbys Dr called from USC Keck....his Cancer has metastasized to colon, rectum, lungs:(((. We called back 4 times. He did setup appointments ASAP. So I'll be driving back to downtown LA USC Friday for oncologist and path results...next Tuesday for scope to check out the mass. Hubby has dropped to 190 and is a trip hazard so weak...my big 6'5" hunk. We dough last Friday when he refused to go to LA and I push and prodded him in his PJs with dirty hair and unshaved face...he looked a fright still does...wish he would eat and drink...needs TPN. Looking for a place to board pup there will be some serious travel...gosh we did this nightmare in 2012. Ok enough is enough...we have answers and will have a plan...God is good and we trust Him! All things even this.

Thanks for letting me vent and being in my pocket...keep the prayers coming!

    (((Hugs)))

oh Cindy. My heart breaks for you. Words seem do futile. I wish I could offer some of comfort.

This is a song I heard recently by David Crowder that has brought me comfort

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yjgioXrnEME

I pray you find some comfort in it as well.

There is one line in the song that I love...

"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't cure".

    Sending hugs your way.
