Good to hear from you, Cindy.

Not sure if I can do the RFL this year. My Mom is coming from Tuscon the week-end prior, I think and I believe that RFL week-end is the same one as the Boo-da Fest in Buda...a Halloween event that my family likes to go to every year. If you go to the Gtn RFL, let me know and maybe we can go together. Not sure when it is.

I hope y'all are enjoying the long week-end~

    Hello my lovely friends,

I know i have been seriously MIA, I've just had too much chit happening. I will catch up and catch you all up soon. And would love to figure out a time to meet up for lunch, tea, or dinner soon. What does Nov 1st look like for everyone?

Hi, Jeni and all you lovely ladies! I have been MIA, too, and realize how much I appreciate and need y'all. Can we catch up in person, soon?

    (Nov. 1 works for me.)

I know many of you have been here: I am so anxious about my 1st postBC diagnostic/3D Mammo tomorrow. I've put it off since August, so time to be a big girl and put this behind me. Going to catch up on Project Runway and have a glass or two of wine with DD. ✌️❤️Linda

Linda, Jen, good to hear from you! I hope your mammo goes well today, Linda.

Terri - thanks! The Mammo went great. What a relief. Followed with PT for Truncal Lymphodema. Can I have a nap, now? After I rake the no-float mulch back into place after it floated to neighbors in weekend rains. ✌️❤️Linda.

Hi Jen and all - I haven't been napping this whole time... I live in the Oak Hill neighborhood - SW Austin - close enough to I-35, 290, etc.

I wanted to let y'all know I made it to Casting for Recovery last month, in Glen Rose. I first heard about it from some of you on here and you were right - it was awesome and I had a wonderful time. Irish I were still there. Have a good week, Lind

BookLady1 I was lucky to attend the 2014 retreat in Glen Rose.

It looks like you had water in the Paluxy River this year and the weather looked comfortable.

Now that you are an alumni maybe you can come to the reunion next September to Camp Honey Creek in Hunt, TX. I went this past September it is a blast. You can meet people from all the prior retreats.

For those who haven't attended continue to apply to each one offered until you get accepted. It is well worth the effort.

Tomorrow is dentist in Burnet...hopeful just a cleaning...😀

Terri - it was so great to see you yesterday!

All - I have been on a cancercation for the past few months, wallowing in self pity because of added tonnage, overall life and work stress, and a huge case of the blues. I just didn't feel I had anything to offer at the moment. It is hard enough for normal people to be around "Debbie Downer", but harder still for those dealing with cancer and all the fun that goes with it. Who has time for DD?

Physically, I am doing well....except for the added 20+ pounds (oops - slipping into DD world again; sigh). My thyroid meds are still off (18 months of trying to get them regulated) but we're getting close. I saw my oncologist Friday. Still cancer free. I see him again in a year. If we keep this up, I will have three more visits with him, three more years of meds, and then I'm set free - no meds, no oncology visits. Exciting but a little scary. Like walking the tight rope without a net.

I had my second colonoscopy in two years. My first one yielded 5 polyps, one of which was pre-cancerous with an aggressive form of colon cancer. I thought this was related to the breast cancer....but no, this would be a new one. Jeez! Feeling like a cancer magnet. Anyway, my colonoscopy on Monday yielded one tiny polyp, which was removed. Waiting on biopsy results. My surgeon expects this one to be the normal, slow growing kind and not the aggressive sucker we saw last year. If he's right, then five years before my next colonoscopy. Fingers crossed!

I make a point to remind myself of all that I am thankful for this time of year. And I am thankful for all of you. The unconditional love and support provided to all on this thread is inspiring and uplifting. Hoping you have a great holiday season with family and friends. Praying for good health to all!

Vicki...so good to hear from you and completely understand your feelings. I too have been a bit MIA and just trying to feel normal again. But so very happy ur recent visit went well and I know your colonoscopy results will be good too. Because of family history (my mom) I too undergo more frequent colonoscopy - so I can relate. But I am grateful they have tests and procedures that can find things and take care of it early. Sending you hugs and hoping you come thru the funk phase soon -you were always my. Cheerleader and so encouraging when I first started this journey so I hope we can now be that for you. Terri- so good to hear from you - your are so good about staying in touch and keeping us updated. and cindy i hope your trip went smoothly - you have been through so much lately - I hope you are well and things are getting sunny again. Thinking of everyone - Jeni, Mary Kay and Bonnie. I have finally picked a retirement date - 1/31/16 and am finally feeling at peace with my decision. It was hard b/c I still love what I do and enjoy going to work. Other big news is that we decided to move to Naples, FL next year to be closer to family. My brother, sis in law live there & they are my only family. We have been working on house, having garage sales and I also gave a lot of my antiques to Taylor Auction to sell off this coming Sunday. Now it feels real......my house is getting empty. So we need to plan a get together and then we MUST plan our own "swimming for recovery" get together in Naples! We bought a 4 bedroom house so there is plenty of room. Plus I could not bear to think I might not see everyone again - that would make this move even sadder. You ALL were and still are important part of my life and this journey that only we can understand and share. I love you all and am sending you hugs! Candy

    Candy -

Thanks for being my Cheerleader! Isn't that why we are all here? Trying to find our new normal can be tough sometimes. I'm getting there....just not there yet. The good news? My two year anniversary came and went and I didn't remember until a few days later. Progress!!

Congrats on the retirement and moving! We definitely need a get together before you go. I'm ready for a road trip to Naples this Spring or summer!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry to but in ladies but has anyone heard from Cindy/RMlulu? She is on the radiation recovery board with our group & we have not heard from her in some time. I noticed she has not been on bc.org since Nov. Some of us have pm'd her with no reply. Just wondering if any of u have heard from her. Thanks Fran

Some of us....actually several of us...have been on cancercations and MIA for a bit. Me...I'm just now touching base again with my bc besties. I am sure others will either PM you or respond to let you know if anyone has heard from her.

I am actually concerned about many from our group.

Terri, Jen, and anyone else who wants to hook up....I say YES! I think the 21st is okay for me. Race season is upon us, so we are shooting a lot right now.

    Fran,

I think I have her cp number. I'll text her. I think she was in the process of making a move a few months ago, so may be busy with that. I am friends with her on FB, but haven't seen her post for about a month. I have a feeling she is fine, but will let you know if I hear from her.:). Butt in anytime!

Vicki, Jen, the 21st should be fine for me too. Let's plan on it.

Anyone else out there who wants to join in, please do!
