OMG Cindy food poisoning is about. So sorry you got stuck on your shirt short trip out to California. But glad you were able to still make your memo appointment and you got good results. Maybe you've developed an allergy to peanuts?? Glad you made it home safe. Hope everyone is doing well. Heading off to North Carolina soon for a 10 day visit with family. Skin is doing so much better. Stopped using the Silverdene finally yesterday. Yeah! I know I'll be staying out of the sun but at least we'll get to see the ocean. Anything was better than Scott and hospital. LOL. Hugs and love to everyone. Candy

Hi Y'all - Summer is moving fast.
Great to see Terri's picture of grandkids Plenty of energy and fun there.
And great to hear that Candy got out of town for long planned and needed vacation.
But Cindy...you sure know how to celebrate a birthday, don't you? So sorry to hear of your troubles and hope you are all better now.
My oncotype finally came back last Thursday. It was 20 - and with benefits averaging 1.8%, maybe up to 3% I decided to forgo the chemo and go straight to radiation after a quick back and forth with my MO here in Austin. I had my first treatment today and with the accelerated course I will only have 20 total. I have placed my bet and moving forward finally.
Hope everyone's 4th celebration was wonderful! Hope we can get together in the fall sometime.

I'm sure it's going to take a while to find your "new normal", but it sounds like you are on the right track! How is Hunter? I think you got Hunter at just the right time:).
RFL for RR, Taylor, Hutto is Oct 24th, 4-10pm. I think a lot of the others tend to do theirs in April or May time frame. Maybe we should all get together and form our own team...who's game?

Hello all. Just checking in.. Had a wonderful time in North Carolina. Saw the mountains and the beautiful Biltmore estate. Then spent a week with family and got to see the ocean. Had my UV T-shirt on so was able to enjoy the beach. Didn't go swimming this time… Fear of sharks on Oak Island. But maybe next time.had a really nice surprise yesterday when visiting Petticoat Fair in Austin. Ran into Mary Kay and we got a chance to catch up. Definitely need to plan another get together. Still thinking about hosting a pool party. Anybody have a preference for dates? I was thinking either the weekend of 1 August, 8 or 15th??

Found this site, glad I did. I live in Fort Davis, TX at the Davis Mountain Resort 20 miles of town. That is where the Republic of Texas mess was back in 1997. My husband and I own the Davis Mt. Broom Shop. We make handcrafted brooms like they did in the late 1700's and early 1800's.
I was treated for BC in 2011, then this past April the found BC Mets to my liver. I was on Xeloda for 3 cycles or 9 weeks, 14 days on and 7 days off. Then I had a CT and it was not working. I go in next Thursday to have a medi port put in and start Taxtorere on Friday July 24th. Of course my treatments are in Odessa, which is a 200 mile drive one way. In 2011 we put 20,000 miles on the car just driving to Odessa and back.

Whew! Finally coming up for some air and to check in. Hope all y'all are having the best summer possible and finding some creative ways to beat the heat!
Candy count me in for the pool party on August 8th. Happy to offer a ride to and from. I can comfortably take 3 from the round rock/Georgetown/hutto area
4 more radiation treatments including the one that I have in thirty minutes. I sleeping 12-14 hours out of every 24 and my skin is getting to be in rough shape but hanging in there.
Ditto what Terri said a few posts up. I feel fortunate to have met you ladies. A great source of inspiration and faith.
