Good one Julie, the dogs failing to catch were hilarious. I did feel so sorry for the poor pug trying to get the ball on the sofa though. Not his fault. Deliberate breeding has given him a heavy body and short legs, so he can't make it onto a sofa.

Kiwi, Do they microchip cats in NZ? We just had a reunion between a cat with a microchip and the owner. She said the cat had been gone for a year and was thrilled to get him back.

Loveroflife - no apology required! Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. GC is microchipped, and we've put a notice out that alerts all pet shops, vets, SCPA, other animal rescue places, etc. Also called all the vets, listed on Facebook and TradeMe (like EBay) under lost and found. She's been spotted, so we're hopeful.

He's right about them climbing on cars. We visited friends who had goats and our car had dents for the rest of it's life. They use goats here to clear blackberries off highway right of ways. In many places it's too steep to mow, so the goats do a useful service.
