Wow, coming off a really bad day. Yesterday I felt hopeless and lost. Like the BC was taking over my life and every ping and pang was something to fear. I took two advils last night and today is much better. I think that going mentally down like that is part of the journey. Fear will always be there, but I have to learn to not let it take over.

Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. Feeling better already... Can actually drink water Yay! Really tired but they gave me steroids so I'll try to stay up till bedtime.

Suebe: I'm right there with ya. It's really getting old BUT we are getting there and we will make it and we are going to kick cancer's butt for doing this to us...We are strong and will come out stronger!

Hope everyone is having a restful day and managing SE's. Be good to yourselves.

PS: I barely get bone pain with Nulesta so I never understood the debilitating pain some of you get from it. I understand now! I get it soooo bad from taxatore. 10% of the people get it from this drug...lucky me! It is so bad...it's in my toes my breastbone, my legs my lady parts, my arms...everywhere. Claritan and Aleve don't touch it so I take Norco when it gets to its worst...I'm glad nuelasta doesn't do that to me too!

Glad you went to the ER and are feeling better justamy. I am the person that never wants to go and when I finally do I wonder why I waited so long. I also get bone pain from taxotere. At least I assume it's from the taxotere, I take AC and T together for 6 rounds so I a still getting Neulasta and no matter when I start the claritin I am in pain and all over. I am too scared to not take the claritin to see if it even helps. I figure I have allergies anyway, what the heck. I just got a mouthsore on the side of my tongue and it is really causing me pain, any movement where my tongue hits my teeth makes me cringe. I have been rinsing with baking soda and salt since infusion day and I rinse after eveything I eat and drink. I see MO on Thursday and may ask for magic mouthwash for next cycle, but until then any tips? Hope everyone is having a minimal SE Sunday.

Justamy  I'm glad they gave u something in the ER. Taxotere makes my nail beds darkened, no bone pain (knock on wood).

    Stay strong Amy.

    Hugs to you all.

purana, are you sucking/chewing ice during Adriamycin? Can also eat Popsicles, ice cream. Whatever will freeze your moth during it. Start 5 minutes before and continue for 5 minutes after.

Justamy, I've been checking in to see if you posted an update.  I'm so glad to hear you are a bit better.  Be gentle with yourself and hang in there.  It hasn't been an easy fight but you ARE definitely kicking BC's butt!

Justamy, I'm so glad to hear you're doing better!  Thank goodness. I was hoping to hear some good news from you!

purrrana, I don't have any advice, but I think there are over the counter products that might bring some temporary relief.  Might be worth a look.

I've always assumed that the bone pain was from the Neulasta, and I'm sure it is, but now I'm wondering if the Taxotere isn't contributing too.

I've had a good weekend.  My daughter worked on her Halloween costume today, and we spent some time putting in a temporary reddish hair dye this afternoon.  I've got bread cooling (thank you, bread machine!) and we'll be having some homemade soup that a friend brought over for dinner.

And just for fun - a  Nutcracker rehearsal shot from yesterday. So proud of my girl. :)

    purrana -

A doctor once recommended a "magic mouthwash" formula to me that was just over-the-counter ingredients, and really worked for me. Just mix half-and-half Childrens liquid Benedryl and Milk of Magnesia or Maalox.  About 2 tsp of each works great. It really numb the soreness!

Cassie: Beautiful daughter. You must be so proud. As for bone pain less than 10% get it from taxatore. I'm just special I guess. At least I avoided it the first 4 treatments. Fun making costumes and doing the "normal" stuff. It seems more precious to me now. Even if I live to be 100, my son will only be 12 once and my daughter is 18-about to be out in the world. I try to stop and enjoy the time more now... Weird I guess.

justamy, so glad you are doing better.  Taxotere 4th round about did me in.  So glad to be done but will continue thinking and checking on everyone here. I will just be moving to the next journey of 34 rads.

I'm 10 days post 4th chemo that wiped me out.  Still running low grade fever.  Still get tired BUT getting better.  Everything definately hit much harder.  Hope those of you heading into another round have minimal SE's.

Cassiecat, your daughter is beautiful.  What a joy!

Purrana I have had those also on the side of my tongue.  I got the magic mouthwash and it also used over the counter oral mouth sore gel to numb it quick.  Those hurt like crap and every little move makes it worse.  I understand that pain all to well.  Get something soon.  We want you to feel better.

Hope everyone was good to themselves this weekend.  Here to a great week ahead!

    We can do it warriors!!

Kellya- I haven't consciously chewed ice, but will try next time. I was chewing ice, but couldn't tell you if it was during Adriamycin or not.

KiLin- I have both ingredients in my house and will try it right now.

Thanks everyone, having you all in my life during this has been such a blessing.

purrana - biotene is an over the counter mouth rinse that may help also.

here, anyone doing AC, while doing the Adriamycin, is given a big cup of ice. The idea is to freeze the cells in your mouth, or the tongue, roof, cheeks, etc. it worked. I had only the start and did get the BMX they prescribed but inky needed it a couple days. I do use biotene toothpaste and mouthwash. They also say to keep your mouth clean by gargling with water that has salt and baking soda in it, I think maybe 1/4 tsp! Each in an 8 oz glass I believe. Let me know if you want me to look that up.

Hope, I hope you start feeling better soon!

    Casie, great picture!!

I'm having Taxol #2 tomorrow. This week wasn't too bad other than day 3 & 4 which were just tired days.

    We can do this!

i want some of those " just tired" days!!!lol. They told me that taxatore would be easier but I'm weird...AC was super easy for me...only fatigue so I guess I should have expected this.

I just got great news! First I went to my bank to check my balance and found out as paid me my back pay without telling me! Then I got even better news. My medicare part A will go back and pay all hospital bills and mammograms, genetic testing, MRI's and other stuff from Jan 2013 on. It will then go back to the beginning of this month and pay on most everything else! They thought I had to wait till July 2015 but since I was already on it before I do not. This means almost everything is paid for completely because I have other insurance too! Unexpected but very welcome surprise...yay for good news today!

justamy glad you're feeling better and yay for some good news, especially financial good news!

    Cassie your daughter is beautiful!

I have taxol #2 of 4 on Friday.  Since I will be out late and my parents are on vacation this week, they are coming friday to either meet me at the hospital or pick up my son from daycare. I am hoping they pick up my son.  For whatever reason I just want to keep them away from the hospital on my treatments. My moms a neurotic worrier and she's a nurse, she can get a little nuts.  Which I understand but I just don't want to deal with it while they are pumping drugs into my body.

Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well!

Justamy, that is great news about the insurance!  Takes a little stress away and that is a wonderful thing.

Cassie, what a lovely photo of your daughter.  My two daughters are the joy of my life.  Now that they are grown they are daughters and friends.

Kellogg, good luck with #4!  I hope your parents follow that plan to be with your son.  My sister came to visit last week and wanted to come to chemo with me on Tuesday.  They ended up changing me to Monday and I'm glad they did.  My sister gets queasy just thinking about blood draws and IV's so I don't think she would have handled being in the infusion area very well!  Instead we got to have fun together. :)

Kelly, good luck with Taxol  #2 today!

Hope50, Congratulations on finishing chemo and good luck with rads.  I'll be starting my 33 sessions in late November.  Hope to run into you on the rads board to hear how you're doing.

I'm waiting to hear from my MO about whether I will get chemo tomorrow.  I've had a bad cold, chills but no fever, for the last few days.  As much as I want to finish, I want to do the right thing.  My white blood counts have been ok but I don't want to risk exposing anyone else who is more compromised.  Hoping they will let me come in, maybe with a medical mask.

    Hugs to all, Sandy

Tabbygirl, I know!  We can't mess with the Tabby/Sandy schedule!  I just heard back from the MO and she wants me to come in tomorrow to check my blood counts.  Then we will make a game plan of chemo or not.  Once again I am reminded that I can't control things.  I hate it when that happens. :)   Either way, I will be celebrating for you.

    hugs, Sandy
