Lisa, beautiful flower. It almost reminds me of a carnation.

Aussie, my family is three hours downstate and I always take my cat with me. We are in an ice storm right now so this has been crazy weather for sure.

Nancy, it's sweet that you can take your cat with you. I hope your weather gets better soon. We've had hot weather and storms.

Lisa, I love those. So beautiful.

Aussie, it is a bit warmer and I am going out today with my new camera. I am calling it my new bird and moon camera. It has a 125x optical zoom. It is quite heavy so we'll see how this works out. Hopefully I will have some pics to share soon. I have been wanting this camera since Sept and finally decided it was time.

Have a great day. It is sunny here finally and I am excited even though it is still very cold for picture taking for me anyway.

Nancy, I'm glad it's warmer and you're going out with your new camera. I hope it's great and you stay warm enough.

Thanks for saying to have a great day. I am rather tired and my house mate may have broken ribs, so things are challenging. I still have nerve pain from surgery too.

Aussie, I am sorry to hear about your nerve pain. I had to take some meds for nerve pain following my neck surgery years ago. Do you have anything like that to help. Sorry to hear about your housemate's possible broken ribs. Sounds like a challenging time for both of you.

I tried out my new camera. I think it is going to take lots of practice to use this the way I had intended. I got some pics of a coyote which was totally unexpected. I also about hit a deer. I will have to practice more. I might post some pics.

Take care. Hope you both feel better.

Nancy, thanks for your sympathy. I've been taking Lyrica for my nerve pain but I don't like the side effects. I would like to start reducing it soon but it's hard when the pain is still significant. I generally find that life is challenging. I hope my flat mate isn't in pain for too long.

Well done for trying out your new camera. It would be great if you could share your photos here. You take care too.

Aussie, Cathy, I hope your nerve pain will eventually subside. You've had a very massive surgery not all that long ago. It will surely get better but when in the midst of it I know that is hard.

Lisa, that looks interesting. Is this man whittling? His horses look beautiful.

Well my massive zoom lens on this new camera is going to require some different equipment to use to it's fullest. My heavy duty tripod is a quick release and that won't work until I can get an attachment. My smaller tripod was sagging when I extended the zoom all the way when I attempted some moon shots. It is fun playing with it. Here are some pics from yesterday and this morning. My first time with the camera.

Nancy, thanks for your kind words.

Your photos on the new camera are very good. The lake is interesting and the sky is very blue. I've never seen a lake with ice on or a coyote in person before.

Thanks Cathy. Coyotes are becoming part of the suburban landscape but it is still fun to see want as I don't see them often. Frozen lakes are the norm and especially since the Polar Vortex we just came out of. I am looking forward to spring!!

We are returning from a week in Cost Rica. This was the view of the Arenal valcano from our cabin patio. We sat here each morning and enjoyed this view with our coffee and several hummingbirds. What a wonderful adventure and beautiful place this is!

Lisa, You scored with a view of Rainier. Especially in winter we can go weeks without any visibility. I've lived here a long time and it's still special in the sunshine.

Wren, when were at Denali, they were selling tshirts saying " I saw the mountain. " Now I guess I can wear it again for this one.
