A rose here in Portland (City of Roses!), Jacaranda tree in LA, and my sunset view on an airplane ride this weekend.

Beautiful pics ladies. Loving ALL of them. I am back home now and in a race to get my flowers bought, planted, pruned etc. and then I have a mound of paperwork that needs to be done asap for some financial assistance for my Mom as her facility she is in is quite expensive.

I probably won't have much camera time for a while. Enjoy seeing all of yours.

Cathy, I hope you are doing as well as can be expected.

Lisa, Those flowers are so pretty and I'm so allergic to them. I can't wait to get rid of my lei in Hawaii because it's giving me a headache.

Band Woman, Try to carve out a little photo time. It will be rejuvenating.

Thanks, Nancy. I hope you are able to catch up on the things you need and want to do.

I guess I'm doing as well as can be expected. My sister's funeral went fairly well. It's been sad going through her clothes with her husband and there's a lot more to go. Things are pretty stressful.

I enjoy taking photographs and then enhancing them with pen and ink. I took the bottom photo at The Amana Colonies in Iowa, then applied pen and ink. The top picture is of a sculpture I photographed in the courtyard of an old church in Omaha. She had scaffolding behind her, so I pulled the photo into Paintshop Pro, removed the scaffolding and then applied the black background. Of all the photos I've ever taken, she is my favorite and I've sold multiple print copies of her. :)

    Victoria, those are beautiful.

Wren, thank you. I know I need to do that. Maybe soon.

Cathy, going through your sister's clothes so soon has to be so difficult but I bet looking back on this you will be glad you did it now.

Here are some pics I got near my Mom's facility. I have some roses blooming in my yard now and maybe I can squeeze some time in to take some of those.

This was the last iris blooming at this place. I missed my chance to get them at their peak.

A few more. :) I took the bottom photo in an old graveyard in Iowa. The oldest headstones date back to the 1800s. Middle picture is of a swan I photographed in Calais, France. At top is a photo I took of an old barn in Iowa -- I love how the ivy has almost covered it. I love black and white photography! I can't wait to get back on the road to start shooting again....praying this breast cancer will be treated quickly so my adventures can continue. I have a bone scan on Monday, a CT scan on Wednesday and another ultrasound on Friday. Oi Vey! Would appreciate your prayers....thank you in advance for those and may God continue to shine His countenance upon you!

    I like everyone's photos!

Thanks, Nancy. It is really hard going through my sister's clothes so soon but that's what Sally's husband wants. In one way it's good to get things over with but in another way the trauma of her dying is still fresh so that makes it harder. We plan to scatter her ashes in a place with nice scenery soon but we haven't finalised where yet.

Thanks April. I appreciate your nice comments. Did you see the link on Youtube I found for you regarding your question about Photoshop Elements a few weeks ago. I believe it showed you how to create a collage using your software you had asked about.

Cathy, I hope this process goes quickly for you going through Sally's clothes so you can deal with your grief. Life can be so hard at times and I hope this difficult time passes as quickly as possible for all of you.

Nancy, thank you for your support. I think it will take quite a while to go through Sally's things. Mostly her husband will be doing it but I will be going through the things that aren't relevant to him. I hope we can move through our grief quickly too but I think it will take a while to get used to my sister not being in the world anymore. We are planning to sprinkle her ashes in lovely bush land on Friday the 21st. I hope things will feel a bit better after we've done that.

Cathy, I hope that you can take time for yourself and allow yourself to grieve. The process is very individual and difficult. I hope you can get through this difficult time as best you can. Here are some flowers from my garden which I hope will brighten your day.

    Roses and begonias.

Nancy, thank you for your understanding and validation. We are planning to sprinkle Sally's ashes in a lovely bushland area that she loved. I am hoping that next week will be less busy and I'll be able to do more grieving and unwinding. I love your flowers, especially the pink ones!!

Nancy, how are your health and your stress levels at the moment?

Cathy, it has been difficult. My social worker told me it was urgent and important that I take care of myself. I have been pushing just too hard trying to get things done. I am not sure I mentioned I have a long and complicated application to apply for financial assistance for my Mom. That has been weighing on my mind for a long time. I made some good progress on that this week and that has been helpful but I have quite a bit to go yet and then will have to travel back downstate to meet with the Veteran's Affairs person I am dealing with so just trying to get away is difficult during a time I don't usually travel. Thanks for asking. I hope after you spread your sister's ashes that you will have some time for yourself. That is so important.

Thanks, Nancy. Well done for getting some things done but I pray that you can have more rest and look after yourself better. I'm sorry things are so hard for you. I also pray that you get the financial assistance for your Mom. I'm sending you hugs.

Aussie-Cat, so very sorry for your loss.

Nancy, hope you are able to get things sorted out for your mom without too much difficulty. My mother will have to move to a live in facility soon. Right now she has nearly round the clock care at home. It's hard being so far away and it will be a few months before I can fly up to see her again.

Thanks Cathy. I did take some me time today and went out of town to this butterfly house. I will have to share some pics soon. I think it will take time for both of us to feel better as these things are a process that can't be rushed when it comes to the emotions.

Lisa, love your butterfly pics. The butterflies today were pretty inactive as it was very cool and cloudy. Perfect for me as these houses that get so hot but not so much for the butterflies.

Scottie, I will tackle the paperwork again this weekend for my Mom. I think I have most documents in place and waiting for some new financial statements to come in the mail. The VA process can take up to a year for approval so I am gearing up for a long process. The Heron pic that you liked made it into my newspaper and I will compete with three other photos to see if I was the winner of the month. I am hoping I will win for the fifth time to mark my five year survival which officially starts on July 4 and the winner will be announced some time around that day. It was my cancer journey that got me into photography in the first place so it would be very cool if that happened. I hope that you can find a good facility for your mom. In our situation the facility costs less than the home health care costs would have been if we would have had 24/7 care. We had home care for her for three years and then it was that organization that told us she needed to go to a facility as she has dementia and needed more care. It must be very hard being so far away. I am three hours away which for me now is a hike when I am dealing with my own health issues and trying to take care of two houses. My sister lives only ten minutes from my Mom now so that is certainly a big help. Take care. Hope to see some of your pics in the future.
