Nancy, Is you Mom a veteran...I guess I missed why you are dealing with the VA...

Nota, sweet pics. Looks like that little guy had a great time!! I'm sure Dad had a great time showing off all of his lures too.

Lisa, my Dad was a WW2 veteran ( corporal in the Marines) and the surviving spouses can get financial help in a long care living situation if they meet the criteria. My Mom has dementia and cannot live alone anymore. Savings can vanish very quickly in one of these facilities. The paper work is massive and if you don't have the needed documents it can take time and money to get those. I believe each state has their own rules.

Scottie, thanks for your sympathy. I'm sorry that your mother will have to move to a live in facility soon. I hope that goes well and you get to see her soon.

Nancy, I'm glad you took some "me time". I agree it takes time to process emotions and time to feel better. I pray you feel better soon and you have some time to enjoy things in the meantime. I hope your paperwork goes well and it gets approved before long. It would be exciting if your photo wins again.

    notarobot, very cute and sweet.

Cathy, I posted a thank you to you and it has disappeared. I did have some me time with the butterflies and working on the photos afterward. Great therapy for me. Hope you can get some of that needed me time as well.

    Thanks Hiking and Notar.

Notar, what a cutie pie. BTW This forum is for anyone who wants to posts pics. It is not a contest. You don't have to take the pics yourself even though when someone does that they give credit to whoever took the pic usually. Sometimes it is just something they got off the internet. Not really any rules here. Just a place to share photos and get to know other cancer survivors. It looks like you are a pretty new cancer patient. Hope you are recovering well from your surgeries. Please feel free to post any time and Welcome.

Notar, sweet baby photo!!! And love the boy fishing photos too.!!! Welcome and Bring them on. I'm living vicariously through everyones' pixs until I can lift my lens again and take some myself. Probably not until my labor day trip.

I love that this board is still here for all of us even when I got caught up in life and did not post for a year.

Nancy, the center photo is awesome. I'm still waiting for my hummers to show. I could have Dh set up the camera on a tripod for me but they haven't arrived this year.

notarobot, I agree with everyone that this thread isn't a photo competition - your photos are welcome here. There may have been some confusion because Nancy/Bandwagon has mentioned here that she submitted photos for a contest elsewhere.

Thanks Scottie. I am surprised your hummers haven't arrived yet since you are much farther south than I am. I saw one at the beginning of May and guessing it was one from last year because it knew right where to go to look for the feeder but I couldn't put it up until getting back at the end of May from visiting my Mom. I have attended a hummingbird festival where they catch hummingbirds at nature centers and band them. I asked the man if he ever he ever catches the banded birds again and he said yes confirming that they the hummers do return to where they had been the previous season. I find that fascinating. I have three that I think are coming. One is a male but I don't see him often. He seems to have an affair going on with one of the females as they seem to fly around together. They whizzed by my head when I was out weeding one day. I get such a kick out of them. I hope you have some come soon.

Thank you Ladies, and yes I had misunderstood about the contest post. I am a fairly new poster, and I am trying to heal and get as much info as I can about treatments ,options and just how to survive this nasty stuff. Thank you for your welcoming words :)

NotaR there are many threads within BCO. You can use the search method to find things similar to what you are going through. Have you met with your oncologists to develop a plan of action after your surgery or do they want to see you see you after you have completely healed. Best of luck to you as you move forward.

Lisa, love the swan pic. I just visited "my swans" last week. They have six babies now. I'll have to post some of them. Love that rose. Your windmill pics from Holland? Beautiful.

I actually am going to meet with my chemotherapy doc tommorow,I was told I definitely will not have to do rads, but will find out if chemo is on the table. I will also be given my oncotype results I hope, I have no clue if that test was even ran? sure would be helpful to know the results of that in figuring out what's next! I also had the Genetic test done and will be getting that result also.

well Im off to bed early tonite, Im whooped today!

you ladies have a good night! Stay safe!

notarobot, at least you will have a wealth of information for you to figure out your treatment plan. Things seem to be less traumatic after that decision is made💕

no results,no decisions, 3 hours wasted driving, waiting room, in the treatment area waiting, only to have the hemo oncologist come in and say he never got my reports from my first surgery, nor my second one. first op was the lumpectomy mid april..second was may 30th. I was diagnosed February 3rd......Im hurrying up and waiting ..again. sorry for being brief..I'm just ,well.. Im just waiting.

Notarobot, I would be furious. I don't know where all those reports go but it wouldn't surprise me if they were on his desk. Waiting 3 hours for nothing is not good service. He could have realized he didn't have them and cancelled the appointment, rescheduling when his ducks were in a row.

Notar, so sorry to hear this. So frustrating. When your care providers drop the ball is upsetting. Once you do have a plan in place and know what you face the uncertainty and that stress will be over and then you can concentrate on what you need to do to get through. The fact you don't even know if they did the oncotype test is unbelievable. Since you are new to this whole thing you may not even know the questions to ask them. They are supposed to be the one making a way for you. You seem like you are handling this well. It seems like a lot of time is passing in between procedures. To think July is coming soon and you started this in Feb. is a lot of waiting. I sure hope that they can get their act together so you know what is going to happen. So sorry for all of this extraneous stuff which makes this more stressful. It will eventually work out and know that will happen and hopefully soon.

Lisa, lovely swan photo. The reflection is awesome!

Nancy, I bought another hummingbird window feeder today. I'm going to have the hubs put it up tomorrow and have him set up my tripod/camera for photos. Keeping my fingers crossed. We always have 2-4 hummers each year but maybe they are feeding off all the flowers and I'm just not seeing them.

Notar, look up the June surgery support board we would be happy to have you join us. Also a good place to ask questions and find support as you recover.

Scottie, I hope your hummers come back. I have a window feeder that I have never put up. I had planned on putting it up on my other patio door but I have a cat condo by that door now and I don't want to drive my cat or the hummingbirds crazy. My sister gave me that one as she has one and she has a great view of the hummers coming. Hope it works out and you get great pics. Unfortunately where my feeder is does not allow for good pictures from the inside of the house but it is a great place for the hummers because they feel protected. I hope yours works out. I say they are the cheapest entertainment you could ever have!
