Wow, Lisa. I have never seen anything like that. Is that some type of desert cactus?

I visited an orchid nursery yesterday and will have to post some pics when I have some time.

Hope you are doing better each day.

Scottie, hoping you are starting in on hopefully a speedy recovery.

Nancy, slow but steady recovery. I see my PS tomorrow for first followup. Lisa hope you get some relief soon.

Scottie, good to hear from you. I hope everything will go well with no complications.

I visited this orchid nursery for the last time this season. Here are some pics from there.

I am having cataract surgery in 2 weeks. I think it may help me

Now I can't make judgments on photos due to contrast and color issues

I just got a 27 in monitor for photo editing because of my eyes. I have had cataract surgery in both eyes and for a short time did very well and then the vitrious detached in both eyes and what was supposed to resolve in six weeks never did at all so it is very hard for me to see focus when shooting and very hard to see the results on my laptop. I haven't actually done much with the new monitor yet as it needs to be calibrated and I first had to get a handle on windows 10. I will be leaving for my mom's in a few days so then nothing will happen until I get back home.

Good luck with your surgery. The eye drops afterwards are sort of a pain but the actual procedure is not bad. The thought of it is worse than the actual surgery.

You sure have had a lot lately.

Hope things start to look up for you.

I had one eye done over a year ago and it's doing fine. The other one isn't ready yet. They had different kinds of cataracts. They run in my family. I don't know if that's just coincidence or a trend.

Lisa, I hope your surgery goes well. She's right, the procedure is nothing.

Lisa hugs and prayers for your surgery. I am recoverin slowly. Still exhausted and can't start walking for another week. No lifting etc for a month. Uggh but I'll be back to hiking and photography this summer.

I hope the time goes quickly for you Scottie. I have my right hand in a thumb splint as I have developed a very painful trigger thumb and already had some trigger fingers but with the splint I can't manage the dials on my camera that I use with the thumb. I will be seeing a hand surgeon in a few weeks to see what can be done. It is documented that some of the AI's side effects are trigger fingers and thumbs. I am bummed by this recent challenge but I know it will work out somehow.

Lisa. . .excellent lighting on the butterfiles. Is that the sun shining on them or flash?

Found a great online photography resource:

    https://www.creativelive.com

I bought a hugely discounted series on lighting ($19) for the whole 40+ lesson series. They also have live freebies such as the Capture to Print series which I'm watching for free now. They include how to calibrate monitor etc.

Plan to watch lots of these while I'm an immobile captive audience.

I traveled to my mom's last night and will be with her for a week. I forgot my pillow I always bring and between that and storming all night very little sleep so I am up after 5. Having bad GI issues still.

Scottie, I checked out that link and it looks interesting.

I am taking a Macro Boot Camp with Mike Moates in a few weeks. One of my friends who is also a retired band director and photographer are taking this two day camp together. I am in a thumb splint now because of a bad trigger thumb but I sure hope I will be able participate. His camps sell out quickly so we registered and paid for it a long time ago.

I was down sick two times for a whole week in the winter but just laid around and spent a lot of time studying you tube videos on photography. There is a ton of free info out there if you can find it. I studied Photoshop Elements before taking my class on it.

Lisa, love the Monarchs. Gives me hope that we will see them soon. There is a big push to plant milk weeds since our Monarch population was so down last year. When do your hummers show up?

Another great resource site I have found. I got a discounted one year membership to their archived webcasts and have watch a couple of them live. These are great for Photoshop & Lightroom CC as well as most versions of Photoshop Elements.

It's a great painting on it's own, but heart tugging with context.

That is a heart wrenching painting. As you said, Lisa, the expression on his face says it all.

Will be going back home from my mom's. It is always challenging as her needs get greater.

Lisa, the combat art was very moving. It is hard to imagine that so many children live with war constantly around them.

I LOVE the roses. How beautiful!

The first one (close up) has an amazing array of colors on one flower. Gorgeous.

Very nice close up Lisa. I am sooo missing my photography at the moment. Watching videos to learn while I recover but it's frustrating as y'all know. I have 4 dark purple roses that Dh still has not planted. I'm curious to see how the will show in photos once they are in full bloom.

    Loving the roses Lisa.

I just got home from my mom's last week. I got another orchid pic in the newspaper yesterday. I haven't tried shooting with this hand splint. Scottie, I can understand your frustration. Hope you are feeling better.

Lisa, when is your eye surgery?
