Linda111111: I just started my 3rd cycle of Ibrance. Overall, I am relieved that I have felt pretty good. I had one mouth sore that started probably week 3 each month. This month I have a new side effect, constipation:/ So, for the mouth sores I started rinsing with salt water often if I have a sore and now I am using a colgate mouthwash (no sore yet but am on day 9). This month I started taking miralax daily which has helped! Have a wonderful time on your cruise and this weekend! I am also in Washington state, near Seattle. My onc. is at SCCA.

RRabbit - those muffins look amazing! I am sure you enjoyed your margarita or sangria - or both tonight!

Candy, thankful your scans are over! We are here with you and for you. No one in my life understands what we go through during these waiting times except you all.

Into the Light, same to you! Sending you the same good energy about your scans!

Pat, your painting is amazing! You are really talented. So sorry you have had a rough go of it. You definitely earned a med break .

Philly, relieved to hear you are home and feeling better.

To all of you, I appreciate you all so much. Hope you all have a good night!

My daughter is coming home tomorrow for a 3 day visit and my best friend from high school is also flying in for a visit! I am excited to see them both. I usually work a lot over weekends (real estate) but am taking a few days off.

Day 10 on my first cycle I had a lot of muscle and bone pain, some diarrhea. Lots of fatigue and cold flashes at points between days 13 and 17, and this last cycle I felt like I had a cold on my off week but I didn't. After the first month my dosage was adjusted down and the really bad aches went away and now I seem to only get a few mouth sores, interrupted sleep, some aches and pains, and nasal congestion. Oh, and very very light nausea.

I roll with ibuprofen, vaporub, and colgate peroxyl mouthwash in my arsenal, with nasal saline rinse when needed. Haven't needed immudium since the first month, but like to have it around just in case. I also keep hand bottles of sanitizer and packets of tissues in my 'travel bag' if I am going out and about to hospital or work. Some ginger candies are in there too in case of nausea so I have something to suck on.

Guess that makes a change from having to tote around tampons and pads!

Hi SondraF! Thanks very much for the "remember to pack" list. Perfect! It all sounds very "doable." Expecting that after I have a few cycles under my belt, it won't be lots different than Xeloda was. We cancer girls definitely need slightly larger purses these days!

intolight and Jaycee thank you both so so much for you replies. Hearing other people’s stories really helps!

I’m still knocked for a loop here but trying to rally. I have two patients to see this evening and I am going to put some makeup on my very pale face and head into the office. I am hoping that β€œwalking amongst the living” again may reignite my fire πŸ”₯ and bring me back to feeling normal-ish again. I keep sleeping and sleeping.

My dear mom made the most amazing chicken soup and it’s bringing me back to life!

I am taking sucralfate 4x/day and protonix 2x/day. The nausea has thank goodness subsided so I haven’t needed an antiemetic it since Tuesday.

in the midst of all this, I have completely cold turkey gone off my one cup a day of coffee. Will I ever be able to drink it again? Red wine? indont wanna ever feel this way again!!!

Linda1111... I have taken several cruises since my dx and did fine. I pack Imodium (for diarrhea since I tend towards that instead of constipation) something for nausea, and cold pills (like Mucinex.) I am religious about hand sanitizer on a cruise and also pack masks although I have never needed them but things happen... Most of all, I plan on enjoying the food and the fun so enjoy and don't worry! Remember you can always order room service if you need to spend some time in the room. Oh, and I always get a balcony room just for that reason.

LoveFromPhilly, I still drink one cup of coffee every morning. Why did you stop? I have not had any problems with it and my BP has normalized and stabilized.

intolight I am just worried about the acidity and my stomach...nothing to do with my BP...but wjth gastritis it seems like it would be wise to avoid acidic foods?

Philly, you are probably right, but I take mine with cream (yes, my indulgence) and i don't have gastritis.

Thank you, IntoLight. I will pack my own little pharmacy! Haven't been able to use the hand sanitizer (with Xeloda) but will be sure to get some now. Might just be a coincidence, but since I've been wearing the little face masks from the doctor's office, I haven't gotten a cold from flying. Looking forward to whale watching and warm Hawaii weather! Thanks again for the info.

Intolight I LOVE little indulgences :0) You give me hope! I guess that I may just have to cool it for a little while until this is under control and then once it is, I can resume more regular lifestyle activities.

I see the GI specialist on Monday. I am curious about what he will say. If anyone has any thoughts on good questions I should be asking, please let me know. I am all ears!

I made it to work and have makeup on and am ready to help people!

    Love and hugs,

    Philly

    Hi everyone.
LoveFromPhilly,...good to see that your on the mend !
Praying for all those waiting for scan results....

Linda,1111111 you go girl ! Hope you enjoy your trip! Yup, bring the Imodium and the Miralax!...just in case. I did real well the first cycle and I’m praying the same for you!

Have a question. I’m to be decreasing to the 75mg dose. Has anyone seen a real difference in SE’s? My hair is getting quite thinned out and so I keep it real short . They say keeping it short makes it less noticeable and it’s true, My friends tell me that they can’t see straight through to my scalp now. However it’s still thinning so if it doesn’t stop soon, then I’ll need a wig.

Anyone on 75mg who has seen a change for the better?

Pat beautiful painting. Sad to hear about your treatment challenges but you always take the horse by the reins and live. Nice touch to make Feb a no med month. You’re encouraging as always.

Candy hope your tests went well today. And now we wait for results.

Philly you bring so much healing to your patients. You don’t look like you were recently sick.

    Take care all

Thanks, GinnyO2! My hair has gotten really thin up top from Xeloda (and maybe age?) Can I expect more hair loss with Ibrance? Think I'll have to chop it all off if it gets much thinner. Nice to know very short helps. Thanks again..

    Hi All.

Just received an email from my MO that my PET scan results look stable. The only uptake is to the hyler node but it is minimal and not measurable so she is not concerned enough to change anything. Most of the areas where previous tumors were located are noted as "no pathology" I don't see her until the 20th so I am happy she took the time to send me a very complete report. Thank you all for the prayers. God is good!

Pat - I wanted to tell you how much I love you and your artwork. I am also feeling frustrated for you that you’re having tough times in the PIQRAY and man you really gave that drug your all. I would be done at first vomit! I can’t handle that at all. You are far stronger that I am in that realm and please keep letting us know how you are doing. I love that you’re going to get a medication vacation! I hope you are able to feel much better off the meds and do all the things that you love. Giant hugs from Philly!!!!

Linda and Tanya and Ginny thank you for the love. I am about to finish up work here - and it did make me feel a LOT better being back β€œin my element.” And now I’m going to go get myself straightened back out with a good acupuncture treatment from my dear colleague ❀️❀️❀️❀️

Intolight woo hoo to continuing dancing with us :) So happy for your news :)

Candy, hoping news comes soon for you, I am thinking of you as you wait.

April, I wish I could take credit for those muffins but, google helped me. :) I had made a comment a while back that Ibrance made me "cut muffins" left and right (fart alot) so it kinda stuck a bit in the group. Apparently gas is a bond we share in the dance so, I thought why not give it a name that has some flair to it.

Well, appt with MO went okay. She wanted me to do scans anyways before I saw her in March, but my mention of new pain in areas of known mets concerned her a bit. I'm scheduled for a Feb 14th CT and Feb 21st Bone. Also was able to get my pain management appt with the specialist moved up 2 weeks to the 25th for MM certification and to help with pain from back mets, In meantime I started cycle 4 this morning, Making my appts for the scans had my hands visibly shaking, but I need to know. MO is also sending my stuff out for Foundation One.

Margarita/Sangria night went awesome, I sipped both, Enjoyed wonderful conversation. It was a great distraction to have after my MO visit. Today I napped and took it easy, but inside i feel myself trembling, i know you ladies understand this feeling.

Philly, so good to see you feeling well :)

Intolight, woohoo great news! Now you can relax for another 3 months.

Rabbit, you are too funny. I love your sense of humor. I just started my off week so I think I deserve a glass of wine or two.

I hope everyone has a good night!

    RadagastRabbit,

I can sympathize with your consternation in setting up scans. I got a note today from my MO that she had put in the orders for me for scans prior to when I see her next on Feb. 25th. I literally went to the scheduling link, started to set it up, and then stopped. I have no new pain or issues that I know of, but as I wrote here a few days ago, my TMs are up slightly. So, like you, I'm scared to set up the scans. I will do it tomorrow morning, but for tonight I just need to wait.

Good luck to both of us on our upcoming scans.

IntoLight - that is wonderful to read - congrats! Same to you Philly, you were sounding so ill and frustrated, I am really glad to see you bouncing back and feeling better. Maybe give the coffee a little bit of a break for a bit :)

Candy - we all wait to celebrate good scans for you too :)

Pat - only you could take daily barfing in stride and make it funny. I hope you find a more comfortable treatment soon.

Looks like there is a clutch of us scanning in late Feb - I am also waiting for a scanner date before my MO appt on the 27th. I don't get to choose, though, so I am practically guaranteed that they will schedule it on the 19th when I have to be at some larger meetings. RR - is this your first scan too since starting Ibrance?

I was feeling pretty confident given the breast changes, but there are two spots on my thoracic spine that feel tight, though I suspect that is from the crutches. Its not pain just a tightness, like a muscle attachment. The chiros were working on those two spots last summer but they didnt light up like the other four spots did. I AM really curious to see what is going on in the left SI joint and how it appears on the CT results.
