We have year round hummingbirds - Anna's don't have the gene that makes them migrate.

mommyof2- sounds like my yard! They’ve been planted for a few weeks now, only a couple have really taken off already. We also have strawberries that have started ripening and lettuce that my toddler likes to just eat right off the plant. She’s weird. Loopy

My favorite rose bush has started blooming! It sometimes blooms right through to Christmas.imageIt’s right by the front door and provides the perfect opportunity to stop and smell the roses

Love the roses. Mine are doing really well. My cherry vanilla hybrid tea had 2 beautiful blossoms it just rained really hard so everything is super saturated. I bought another bush this year called Downton Abbey suppose to be a medium crimson color can't wait to see it.

Lovely flowers ladies! I am weeks behind, still suffering from nerve pain and had a week of migraines, which I think were caused by a meds. change. Haven't done much gardening but dh has been keeping the yard and garden in shape. Today he and ds cut up the big willow tree which the beavers took down last fall right after the hurricane. HOA finally sent a letter and said it had to go.

Scottie- I hope you are feeling better. Is that top one a seedum? It looks like my autumn harvest one but they don't bloom until the fall. I love your beautiful flowers.

Jazzy, yes the top one is sedum. I think it might be autumn joy, which grows in Georgia. All of my sedum plants bloom in the early to late summer.

Went to check on my garden this morning and saw that one of my squash plants has a flower in bloom already. Never had that happen this early in the season

Kiki- beautiful garden flowers. I love hydrangeas but don't live in the right climate for them to do well. The others are stunning too!

Teka- wood chucks bring back fond memories of growing up in CT. We had them around too and always loved them. That one is truly adorbs.

Mommy- I heard CT is having very warm weather (my sister is back there right now and has talked about temps pushing 100 degrees). Maybe warmer than average temps in June have things blooming earlier? You will enjoy squash sooner than you expected this year?

Kiki- beautiful flowers, my hydrangea is nowhere near blooming!

m0mmyof2- I took a chance and planted early this year. I have zucchini that are almost ready (had a ton early last year too!) and squash is coming along nicely. I’m actually north of you, but close to the ocean.

I’ve had a bunch of rogue tomato plants come up on their own this year, and I’m not sure what to do about it. I thinned them to the 6 or so strongest scattered between the two gardens, but may need to pull more. I already have 4 that I planted and don’t really need 10 tomato plants! I offered some to my neighbor who has a garden, but no. My family already had theirs. They seem very healthy, hate to just toss em, but space is limited! Moving them to containers means getting Even More potting soil...

Good problem to have I guess

Cpeachy- definitely sounds like a good problem to have! You must have healthy soil! I wish I had a larger garden space. I do all container planting on my back patio. Do you make sauce with all your tomatoes? My one friend has her own little tomato festival- it’s a canning party 🎉 😉

warrior- unfortunately I do not, which is why I don't need so many! However, my sister is supposed to teach me canning this year, so we may end up doing salsa or something. A canning party sounds like a great idea! I also have a lot of containers going on the back deck, and some of those are doing very well. The pepper plants on the deck are twice as big as the ones in the garden!

Peachy, I'm south of you in PA and the hydrangeas are in full bloom! Learning to do canning would be very useful. I've always been a little afraid of doing it wrong though!

Hey Jazzy! I used to live in NM and missed things like hydrangeas. But now that I'm back East, I miss my high desert garden. Guess I just love them all ⚘ I enjoy seeing your pictures.

Teka , love that little lady slipper!

Dodgersgirl, zucchini already! My zukes and cucumbers are full of blossoms so shouldn't be long. I do have little bitty peppers and tomatoes starting to ripen.

Happy gardening everyone 🌿. This is the most fun thread. One more pic of my hydrangea, now that it's in full bloom:
