OMG..............I lost you all in my favorites.....................now I have to go back..........I was just ready to post "where are all my ladies".............and when I went to my favorite thread it was not there...........Oh for shame.............now I have to r ead back......so cmuch has happened, I am going to bore you all to tears.......be back soon

Don't know where to begin......read through and so much to remember.....
My grandson Patrick flew in from Chicago today, for the wedding on Friday...it is his sister getting married.......he still does not feel good....head hurts, along with neck and shoulder......but as we said "he's alive..........he has 2 very good Chicago lawyers who are doing his case and going after this bastard......the Assistant District Attorney got them for him....they are close.........I told him to sue that sucker for all the money you can aget.......and to have no mercy on his sorry ass..........
Not sure how I lost you guys..........but I did..........
Oh and Phil was over on Sunday, and he is really banged up......big cut on his scalp, his head broke the windshield........can't move his shoulder, and cuts and bruises on his arms and shoulder......he said he was in the back seat of the car on the passanger side......he saw the other car coming toward them, and tried to quickly move to the other side of the car so he wouldn't get the full impact of the car.......the guy hit the rear door as he was hurring to move to the drivers side back seat, and barely made it when the guy smashed into the door, and the impact threw him against the window, and his head broke the window thus the huge lump and the cut........he is sore, but alive too, just like Pat....
I countered with the people who are interested in the house, but right now hav such a horrible headache from all the bullshit going back and forth, I just want it over.........will 'not get nearly what the house is worth, but this is not when people buy homes down the shore........and they will get an inspection which you know they will rip the house apart.....well I wi ll fix nothing....they can kiss my ass.......enough about that..will letyou know how it works out........
The wedding is Friday, and the rehersal dinner tomorrow night......I wish I could be excited but I can't.........so much going on between the Amnesia stint, the house, the boys, and now Thanksgiving............I just don't give a shit about anything.........very dow, very depressed, and would rather stay home, stay in bed, and forget it all........
Just don't care anymore.........don't need all the crap.................then..........
Ran to the store today to pick up some new makeup so I don't look like I got wheeled out of the back of some funeral parlor by accident...........went to our CVS in the area, only to see the sign that said "visit our CVS on Township Line, its "new"......well that is right up the street from me.........of course I had no clue the new one opened......so I digress
While there I decided to buy a 1/2 gallon of milk..........$2.29......came home took it out of the bag, dropped it on the floor, it cracked and I had milk on the floor (puddles), the cabinets, the dishwasher, the stove, and from one end of the room to the other.........so with my temper and shouting words that will surely have me condemed to "'Hell" when I leave this earth.......I threw the broken plastic bottle in the sink......you understand I said "threw"..........well then I had milk on the counter, the faucet, and the tile backsplash from the bottom to the top........so the milk cost $2,29....and the roll of paper towels it took to sop it up was $1.25, and I have neither the milk.......or anymore paper towels..........so how was your day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aren't you happy to see "Little Miss Sunshine" back............
I ate a stinkin knockwurst for dinner.....that's right.....a knockwurst.......with mustard on a plate.............that will kill me for sure in about an hour............
Oh well at least I get to watch DWTS tonight to see who wins.................
Love you all..............sorry I got lost.......haha.......bet you all wish I had stayed lost......haha.0 -
Sandy, congrats on finishing radiation!
Queenie, is the L-DEXA test that one where they put the electrodes on your foot and hand? I don't know what that was called. I have BCBS in a different state, sure hope they aren't fussy about covering it here, since I've had the test done twice.
Iris, good thing the candle holder was already broken when you broke it again! Is your finger doing OK?
Sula, the Chaunk box looks slick. It looks like the sort of thing I'd get my nephew for Christmas. He loves to cook, and is always up for something he's never tried to do before.
Ducky, I hope Patrick and Phil heal up soon. They both really had a narrow escape. I'd be shouting too over the spilled milk, that stuff is expensive! It's cheaper to spill gasoline these days. Maybe going to the wedding will cheer you up a bit?
I heard back from the university today. They were fine with no chemotherapy. In the ALND vs. radiation decision, they recommended radiation, but they also said that they would actually be OK with my having neither one, which was a huge surprise. The main reason they would consider treating my lymph nodes at all was because of my (relatively) young age. They offered to have me talk to one of their ROs to get their opinion. I'm not sure about whether I want to do that or not, since I'm inclined to take the radiation, and it would delay starting treatment. I'm going to think about it tonight.

Then about 1 hour ago I opened up a new eyebrow pencil........I turned the thing, and it shot out all the way, and broke off and fell on the floor.....................Is this just not my day..............that thing was $6.99........will be back to CVS tomorrow eyebrow pencil in hand.................I hope my mood changes, if not......God help the person who dares says "NO" to me................LO

Ducky! You were missed. Sorry you are down. I hadn't realized you were in negotiations for the shore house. Good luck! And you never bore us!
Cubbie- since you are early stage, ER+, have they done an Oncotype test? Maybe you said already and I forgot, but that test would surely add some weight to your set of facts. It's made for people in your situation, trying to decide. Sorry if I'm butting in or forgot.
Here's a bit of lovely Oregon, taken about an hour ago. The end ofa rainy day on a misty marsh.

Katy, my Oncotype was 15, that's why no one is recommending chemotherapy. It's part of the reason the board considers no further treatment to the axilla an option - they ran a calculator that shows that my odds of having anything else lurking in my nodes isn't any higher than if I had completely negative sentinel nodes.

ducky, you need your own personal bottle of what my grandmother called hootch, aka good bottle of booze!
all these stories make me afraid to try to make the apple pie tomorrow but guess there is always shoprite!
0 -
Iris, the worst thing that can happen is that the pie could land upside down on the floor, and you can always post it in the Thanksgiving disasters thread. Go for it!

Katy, almost missed your pics of OR, so lovely, I do like Oregon

Cubbie (and whomever): yes, the L-DEXA test is the one where they stick electrodes on your foot and hand, An impedance test. Even if BSBS doesn't cover it, I'm glad I had it....by the measurements, I've lymphedema but by the electrodes, nope! and nope in spades.
Duckyb: you have my sympathies. You even have my husband's sympathies. Some days are bleeped like that, and, quite frankly there's nothing to be done but go bactk to bed and wait for tomorrow.

thanks Iris.
Cubbie- thanks. All makes sense now.
I haven't seen the Thanksgiving disasters thread, but I have a funny story. About 25 years ago I studied for awhile in Mexico City. I lived with a very wealthy family, with a huge house behind walls, servants, the works. Ordinarily Thanksgiving would not be celebrated in Mexico, but this family had close ties to the US, and all the children were educated here. The story goes like this: as the liveried man (not really, just a starched white chef's jacket) was bringing in this huge turkey on a silver platter, in a room with about 16 people seated at the table, the turkey slipped and slid right off the big platter onto the floor. You could have cut the silence with a knife. Poor Manuel! The lady of the house was a very kind woman. Beautiful, elegant, and in control. But overwhelmingly kind. She looked at poor Manuel, his face frozen between fear and embarrassment. She really looked into his eyes, and held them, as she slowly stood up and moved towards him. She said, still moving toward him, and her eyes boring into his, "That's ok, Manuel, come on, let's just pick this up and go get the other one". And then, to her husband, "Mi amor, please fill everyone's glass with the best wine". And with that, she bent down to pick up the turkey, which of course startled Manuel into action. In a flash, they and the bird had disappeared from the room. The guests returned to their wine and conversation, and in short order the other turkey appeared, and Thanksgiving was saved.
It was not until later that night, in the privacy of their bedroom, that Señora P revealed to her husband that there was no second turkey. The story has become part of family legend.

What part of Oregon, Katy? I have many happy memories of driving down the coast from Astoria to the CA border, and along the Columbia Gorge, as well as touring the Willamette Valley wineries, the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, and camping near Roseburg. I wish I had gotten to know central and eastern Oregon.

Sandy- I'm in the Coos Bay Area. Southern coastal.

Ducky,
Whoa!! What a mess of a day. That is a real turn around and get back in bed event..as my late mom would say. I hope you're feeling better soon. I can't imagine a wedding on top of T-day! You don't have to cook do you? I've been questioning my sanity ever since I decided it would be a great idea to get married a couple of weeks before Christmas, and my husbands birthday is just a couple of days after Christmas. Three birds with one stone was kind of dumb on my part.
Sorry the boys are hurting, but glad it wasn't worse. Hopefully they will get the mofo that hit your grandson Patrick and make him pay! Phil was very very lucky as that sort of collision is a bad one. Quick thinking on his part... Actually both their parts...smart guys!
Jack,
I love that photo. I'm a sucker for fog ( growing up in San Francisco) that is some lovely countryside you've got. That turkey story.....I love it!!! Definitely out of a movie.
Tom, Proud, Cubbie and everyone else...
We have been assembling the boxes, and getting ready to go to town on Friday. My BS said she's going to try and come by the shop... Right now we have made a test run of the boxes in two sizes, the 8 pack and 12 pack and they're going to be in 3 stores, one here in Sonoma, the Ferry Building Rancho Gordo store, and one in Rancho Gordos Napa store. Hopefully the goal is to make these available online also as we've had a lot of inquiries...I'll let you guys know as soon as we do. Right now I just hope people who come to the stores want them and like my dal!!! I'm really nervous about doing this and would honestly rather be cleaning up from Thanksgiving on Friday than peddling my wares at the Ferry Building . So, I'm starting cooking for turkey day tomorrow which hopefully will make Thursday easier. Hope you all have a great holiday....I know I'll be in here tomorrow as I ought to be ready for crazy town by then!

Up since 3:45 EST..........this friggin house is going to kill me...............agreed on a price.......they are pre-approved for a mortgage, but "inspection" is next............you know there gonna find shit that even I didn't know existed.........
My daughter sold a gorgeous home...she had rented it because the market was bad...this was several years ago......and the dirty pigs destroyed the house.......my SIL.....redid the entire house.....everything structurally was perfect.....it was the cosmetics they destroyed...........well the girl who bought it got an inspection, and the freak came back with 3 pages of shit he claimed was wrong with the house......my SIL was a carpenter by trade...nothing was wrong with the house......I am sure these people will do the same to me................my husband, 2 sons, SIL, and grandson are carpenters so you know the house was taken care of......we shall see..........but that is why I can't sleep......I get up to pee, then lay down and ponder the house, and "bingo" i"m wide awake...........
So here I sit with my coffee wonder what today will bring.......I of course will be going to CVS with my eyebrow pencil.....I will put on my gold metallic shoes with my sweat pants, and winter jacket (cold here today), and go outside on the concrete and scape and kick my feet to rough up the shoes some more.....so I don't fall on my ass walking on the "all marble" floor in the ballroom at the wedding......
I did this yesterday morning......sweatpants, metallic gold shoes, and a winter jacket walking up and down the sidewalk dragging my feet and scooting my feet backwards like a dog after it shits and is shooting it across the lawn..........I guess they thought.........."Holy Shit"......3 weeks ago they took her out in an ambulance!!!!!!.......Should I call 911......last time she lost her memory....now she looks like she lost her mind..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh............and I need to get my eyebrows done......I look like a female Groucho Marx............they say the eyebrows "makes the face"..........well that would explain my problem...........combine that with the wrinkles and it looks like the map of Pennsylvania............if I getanymore I will be able to "screw my hat on".............
Well I'm done my coffee.....and sitting here at 6am and wondering what time the rest of the world wakes up...........Oh Lord please let this be a good day.......I know one thing for sure............I'm not buying "milk"........love you all......
By the way my oncotype score was 8.......more to come later................hugs.

ducky, great that you have an offer and will keep my fingers crossed for the inspection. I can only imagine what someone would say if they inspected my place, hmmm, new windows for sure would be pointed out. Guess I should just stay put. I live in a town house community that is now about 30 years old so all the units may have started the same but now it they all look dif based on the updates.
yup, frost is on the cars this morning but Adele is on Today so got to go

Proud............my shore house is 30 years old too...............

Just got back from eyebrows............my daughter happened to be at the salon (didn't know she was going).....and said ...."your getting your nails done right".............I said "NO"....she said "yes you are"...................so of course I did........had not been there all summer, and the owner is a sweet person who I love.........she was so happy to see me, and they take such good care of you............when I left she said welcome back, and you have a great holiday...............girft card for a free Mani, and Pedi......now how sweet was that.............
I have a year old GC for there for a facial, massage, mani, and a pedi from two of my grandchildren......last xmas.....LOL....will be sure to use it in a couple weeks.0 -
It absolutely amazes me how the Orientals revere their elders...............not like Americans.......they may love their parent's, but Asians adore them...........ever notice that.?????????
If you ever get to a nursing home............check it out..........you will never see Asian elderly in those places..................or ......Indian nationalities..............we could learn from them.......

Sent you a pm Duck, but thanks for making me laugh! Scuffing your shoes, and imagining what the neighbors will think! Hahaaaah!!
0 -
I buy those damn expensive shoes, and they all have the fancy colored slipper soles.........just what an 80 year old needs right........................
I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP...........LOL............Gonna practice walking again later today........hahahaha...........
0 -
Plus my kids have no mercy..........they are the type who will say "OH MY GOD MOM ARE YOU OK, AND THEN LAUGH THEIR ASSES OFF".........................while another has a camera taking a video and hoping to win on AFV........................LO
0 -
Too funny! They must know you are pretty tough! But yeah, i don't know why ANY shoe has slippery soles. i won't buy a pair that does, it will only encourage them..

Proud, oh, yummy pie. Enjoy it!
Ducky, I have the urge to wrap you and your whole family in bubble wrap to keep you from getting in any more dangerous situations! Please stay safe, and I do hope the wedding and Thanksgiving come off okay. And be careful with those dangerous plastic milk cartons, okay?
Good luck with the launch, Sula!
Hey crazies, ya want crazy? I'll give you CRAZY. Went to rads this morning, as usual, all on schedule and I changed, grabbed my free cup of joe, and headed home. Got to my block and saw the gutters were running with water (it's a beautiful clear day here) and the fire hydrant across the street was open. There was a notice on the door: Water main break, emergency water shutoff to the whole block. What was I planning to spend the afternoon doing? COOKING! Dinner rolls (double batch), lasagna (2 kinds, meat and vegetarian), cranberry sauce, cranberry bread. So....
Anyway, I've got the sauce started and am about to embark on the bread dough. Have a few water bottles in the refrigerator and will buy some water if need be. Dirty dishes in the sink. Sigh. Let's hope they get it back on soon.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!!!
