Sorry Everyone for being so MIA on here! I recently went back to work after a longggg leave of absence.

Sorry your Onc called in sick Iris!! Ugh!!! I hope you have a good workout!!! Will be in your pocket!!!

GMa - In your pocket as well!!!

As for me...CT on Friday to "check for stability" of a lung nodule. It's going to be the 3rd CT to "check for stability". MO says she's "99% sure" it will still be the same (and, is not mets). But....why do I have to have the test - if that's what she thinks?? Bawling

Scared. .In your pocket for your CT scan as well.!!! I know it is so stressful ..Once we're in the medical loop they check everything , and re- check it again , and again , just to make sure we have a nervous breakdown.. 😵

Iris, so frustrating! Bet my MO is in the same boat, because her kids were home sick last week with the same stupid virus I have. Any way to find out if the results are in the patient portal? My guess is that they’re benign: the day after my first biopsy, my gyne (I didn’t have an MO yet) was on vacay so her partner called me up when the results came in as IDC. In your pocket anyway.

Scared, in your pocket for your CT scan. When Bob’s CT scan to check for free air in the peritoneum after his botched colonoscopy revealed a 2cm “incidentaloma” in his lung, he had three more repeat scans every 6 mos. to check on it. First repeat showed it was gone, but there was a 2mm one elsewhere in the lung. Next two scans showed no change. Re-scans are s.o.p. (par for the course).

no I have no way to get results prior, my little notepad is never compatible with the online patient portals, sides this is something I really need to discuss with the onco

Gonna do my best to stay busy, hey, got 2 doc visits tommorrow so that should keep me busy

I get to talk to cardiologist and give him my opinion of the management of the stress test, last week

Gma, In your pocket for your mammo tomorrow.

Iris, Geez... so frustrating. Maybe your docs office personnel could let her know how stressed you are about waiting for the results, and the doc could give you a call with the results. My doc has done this and I found it helpful to reduce my waiting as well as allowing me to get my questions together.

I saw my neurologist today. My EEG, MRI and most of my blood work are normal. Yea! My liver has finally recovered from chemo. My vitamin B level is low, which he says is important for nerve and brain cells. So I'll supplement that. Plus he is increasing the amount of a drug that was originally meant for Alzheimer's patients... but improves the memory function of those with cognitive issues (like me). He says reducing stress would work wonders.... but with this cancer crap (including my scheduled excisional biopsy) that doesn't look possible.

Really tired tonight; haven't been sleeping well. But I'm meeting long-time girlfriends for dinner tonight. We all had our first babies within a few months of each other, and have been friends ever since.

gma, after my last checkup with my primary doc she said I needed to get some sugar in my diet and told me to eat a piece of candy before bed, I was waking up with sort of a fuzzy head feeling. Well I am not much on candy so now I have a small dish of ice cream before bed . Figure it is doctors orders. Course all this is since the surgery for hydrocephelus

We'll 2 docs today, cardiologist and gastrointestinal doc.

Glad to hear good news today! and got some of my own: my own mammo was all clear, yay! I really didn't expect it to be anything but fine, but I did get anxious in the waiting room...and yes, G'ma, mine hurt this time too! The tech wasn't as gentle as the first one I had post bc (this is the second one post bc).

Iris, still in your pocket. That was good news about the stress test.

Gma, glad to hear you got the mammogram done and it was clear. I hope you are starting to feel better.

Eggroll, glad to hear your mammogram was also good!

Scared67, in your pocket as well for Friday!

Poppy, in your pocket for the biopsy, and yes, how can they expect us to lower stress with this cancer crap?

My blood pressure has been running a bit high the last couple of times I've been to the doctor. I expected it to be high in the MO office, and nobody thought much of that, but it was 150/100 at my PCP's office as well. I was also stressed there as well, just not as stressed. Now I've developed a thing about it where every time they try to take it, I freak out and it goes that much higher. I even panic at home with a home monitor. It's like trying not to think of a pink elephant. My doctor thinks it's all the stress I've been under, but also thinks if I spike that high when I'm stressed, that's still not good for me and wants me to start taking a beta blocker, at least for the short term. He on vacation (his NP has been talking to him) so I haven't gotten to talk to him in person about it yet. Octo, I'm starting to understand your phobia of having your blood pressure taken!

Today I'm going back to the dermatologist. I noticed I have a mole that I've had since I was a kid looks different than I remember, and a bit odd. I think she probably saw it last summer, but I decided I better have it checked, anyway.

Kidney removal done on 1/11 and yep, it was cancer. Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma to be exact. One of the rarer ones but one of the less aggressive ones as well. This particular cancer has been associated with Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome so am hopeful insurance will cover genetic testing so my biological kids can get screened when they need too. Cross your fingers!
