Sandy, that's cool....many a Saturday I spent at Carnagie Mellon at the footballs games...every saturday for 4 years...Kevin was the quarterback.....and we drove from Philly suburbs to Chicago .....up and back the entire football season......11 hours on the road, but it was worth every mile.......

Sandy, the plan for your hemoglobin sounds encouraging. An Arnold Palmer in a wine glass sounds good - it's all about presentation.
I just got back from my therapy appointment, she says I need to get some short term anxiety meds (currently not on anything) since the stress is affecting my blood pressure so much. I have a call into my GP to see what he wants to do. Thanks for being in my pocket, everyone!

Thank you to all for your kind and uplifting words. The pathology report was kind of a mixture in that the tissue is considered high risk benign ALH. I have a consultation with a surgeon on July 25 and then probably an excisional biopsy. The VABB was much less upsetting than I was anticipating, too. I was more worried about how I was going to stay prone for all that time, but the tech was great about letting me get comfortable in between imaging. And that the table slopes down made it a lot less uncomfortable. Pain was about like a trip to the DDS for a filling!

Congrats on ALH! (Beats carcinoma). Because it’s an excisional biopsy, it will be less extensive surgery than a lumpectomy, and likely no need to check lymph nodes. Excisional biopsies are often done under conscious sedation rather than the general anesthesia given for lumpectomies; the recovery is much, much shorter and easier.

Good looking young man, Rainny. Duckyb, your grandson too! Very impressed with his gpa while working a stressful job . Cubbie, in your pocket. Iris, I hope they straighten out the meds mess.
Today was Wyatt's 19th birthday. He's a remarkable young man.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT!
Ladies I am typing one-handed, so this will be short. wrist has been getting worse. Doc did an MRI - bad tendonitis from knuckles to wrist - the mid group that goes through radius and ulna (radiocarpal and radiometacarpal joints). Then mentioned arthritis in the wrist.... I read just not typing. Love you all. Prayers for all that are here in Crazy town..

Happy Birthday, Wyatt!
Glad to hear your biopsy turned out to be ALH, SharonRose. They'll get that out of there, and you will be good to go!

Another "Happy birthday, Wyatt!" So glad to see a picture of him--thank you Molly.
Finished the accounting class with an A, mainly by sublimating ALL and I mean ALL of my anxiety about my upcoming biopsy (Monday) into homework; I didn't have any greebles left over for fears of what news might come Thursday. Also parted on good terms with the veteran (Navy) in the class after a rocky start; we both have PTSD and kept setting each other off in the first couple of weeks.

Happy Birthday Wyatt!! Congrats Queen and to the graduates! and in your pocket, in yours too Cubby and Sandy, and all of you! Waving across the Pacific to Lucy!
I am missing Crazies, I know, but I have an excuse: Today, I officially am RETIRED!!! what a great status to have!!
Of course, it will be a working retirement. I am not sure I could do it any other way. In fact, on today, my first official day of retirement after twenty years with my employer, I am off doing a consulting gig. However, starting tomorrow, hubby and I are heading to the Monterey coast to do a bit of decompression in cool weather for a few days....and then I will have time to read, catch up on every one of you, post some pics from my vacation, and think more about what I want to do next (trip to see grandkids is my first next trip, of course).
Love you all;
Octogirl

Congrats on the retirement, Octo! My sister-in-law is consulting in her retirement (also education) and has found it very rewarding and a lot less stressful.

Happy Birthday to Wyatt!
Hope they get it all figured out Sandy.
Iris, lack of organization irks me to no end. My OCD tendencies prickle...
Lucy still praying.
Sharon, very good news!
Happy retirement Octo!
Ducky....kudos! You've got an amazing fam!
QMC congrats! Odd how that whole PTSD stuff triggers sometimes. Ask my husband...
Ouch GMA!
Cubbie....hugs...I had to recently begin taking my anxiety meds again. Frustrating but necessary for me I'm afraid.
Love you all...

Congratulations, Octo! Hi Lucy, Robin and QMC! Thanks everyone for the bday wishes. It was a good day for him.

Octo: a late "Congratulations on the sort-of retirement." sorry! how could I have missed that?
Robin: who knows where the little lizard hindbrain will take us? Hence the need for CrazyTown. Part of the solution was simply realizing "We're winding each other up." Also taking a private moment to explain the source of my PTSD (cancer, though I didn't specify what type to him) and the reason I'd been so triggery (the oncologists keep calling me back for more intensive testing).

Love to all crazy town gals, been reading just not writing, like Gma! Ouch!
Happy birthday Wyatt!
& so great you retired finally, Octo!
Sorry about the non drinking part, sandy, Sux, but there will come a day!
Love the crazy town sign, It's been almost two years since Beppy created this thread for us... miss her every day, and I think of at least several of the women here every day, even if I don't see you, I never forget you, and I just wish the best for everyone. Iris, Robin, Thinking of you especially cubbie! And welcome to newcomers.
I wish I was as good as Beppy, how she noticed and remarked upon everybody, she was just so special that way! With her great sense of humor, and how she just had the knack of making every one feel special. And I just am not her, I fall far short in the ways she was so special, but even if I don't mention everybody, I do want you to know: i feel like you guys are my gang! I love you all the best, and could never have remained at least partially sane without each and every one of you..love you all

Hooray for your freedom, Octo! Monterey is sooo gorgeous—will you be at one of the resorts?
As to the dueling opinions about my ferritin levels (Bob says very low, PCP says “low end of normal”), I am gonna toss the ball to my MO, as I sent her the results of all my bloodwork last week, and let her decide. She will be my human “coin flip” (but will doubtless agree with my PCP on the “no alcohol” part).
Have a happy Fourth weekend, able to keep the Crazy at bay.

Tomboy ..great to see you ..I never sign onto this site without thinking of Beppy ...
Octo ..enjoy your trip ..Hmm..not so sure that Gabe is toooo worried about competition from other bears ...He didn't seem too intimidated by Little Joe 😄
Sandy ..I know what you mean about the wine ..My blood tests are in mid August ..and my doctor does tumour markers ..everything he can think of ..and I'm so scared of repeat tests etc that each year I don't drink anything from mid June ..and the closer I get to my blood tests , the more nervous I get .and the more I NEED a wine 🍷...😵
Robin ..thanks for the prayers ..how is the house hunting going ??
Cubbie ,QMC, Molly , Ducky ,GMA , and everyone else ..Hi ..xx

My PCP explained that alcohol can both impair dietary iron absorption and perhaps—just like NSAIDs of all kinds—irritate an already-irritated gut or esophagus to the point of causing a tiny slow bleed. Has nothing to do with tumor markers. Neither my MO nor PCP test for tumor markers in Stage I patients absent symptoms suggestive of mets, because the tests on early stage patients are unreliable and not indicative of anything.

Sandy ..I agree ..said to my doctor that " I read that having the test just causes stress , and finding Mets early etc doesn't change survival etc " ..He said he didn't necessarily agree with that ..but I could choose not to do the markers if I want ..So after he said that I thought I'd just bite the bullet , and do them like he wants ..but it does cause me a stupid amount of stress ..

Tomboy........hope your doing well.......miss you.....hugs

Hugs and hellos Tombiy!
The house hunting is different. The market out here is weird. Navigating the waters just had two tweak a few "search parameters." Close to making an offer. Thankfully the cats are doing well with my SIL parents and the dogs are doing well in the RV. If anyone has been following the wildfires out here, The Goodwin Fire was close to becoming a concern. We are safe and will relocate if necessary. So as I first stated...it is different

Stay safe, Robin.

Welcome back, Tomboy!

Definitely stay safe around the fires. Just the sight of them on tv scares me.
Well, heard from onco office, turns out the hold up on my chemo was caused by good old medicare. They refused to authorize a second oral chemical, i did affinitor and it failed for me. My new onco had wanted to try another oral med. I tried to talk to her but she insisted and medicare was the deciding vote
So starting taxol monday afternoon. I asked if i could drive myselarf and they said yes but i got my buddy Art to take me. No idea any more details as to how many sessions or any schedule, guess i get full details
I feel relieved to get this next stage

Iris, I think it is always better when you have a plan, so glad you are relieved. In your pocket for the Taxol.
Tomboy, so great to hear from you. Miss you.
