Just got detoured back into CT. Went to my check-up last week with my BS. Because an axillary noodle on the left side was showing it was growing, she did a biopsy. Just got the results and it shows a little progression. My BS is calling my MO with the results and to have my MO's office call me to get me in to see her soon to set up a treatment plan. This really stinks! I was doing so well!!! Upset as Hades!!!

mommy, that sucks big time
Tommy, thanks for that info,
Gonna bring it up at my appt, next one is actually tommorrow

Yep. Feel like banging my head against a wall over this, but all I would get is a big headache!
0 -
M0mmy - sorry to hear that. Thinking of you.
0 -
M0mmy, Jeez! Sorry to hear about that! Thats weird, just in your node?!? No where else I hope. did they do a sentinel node biopsy when you first started? I see it says 0/0 nodes, but that sounds like they just left them? That's a crap thing to hear.
0 -
M0mmy, that sucks. Hope it stopped at only that node, and they don’t have to dig too deep to rule out further involvement. Maybe some targeted rads would suffice?

Yep. BS thinks they can shrink it with meds. If it comes to that I'd rather do that than end up having more surgeries.
Sandy, I have been a mess for most of the day. Had a pity party for myself before I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and and had a serious talk with myself where I told myself "Put on your big girl undies and fight this crap" all while listening to Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" on my IPod. I chose that song when I started this battle as my mantra. I got to see them in concert just before my first surgery for this crap in 2013.

Good for you! I know the guy who wrote it (Jim Peterik, who also wrote “Vehicle” and “Give Me Two Steps, Mister”), and he is such a nice and supportive fellow that he’d probably give you a virtual high-five if he found out. “Fight Song” and “I Will Survive” are also good ones.

So Isn't Katy Perry's "Roar". I grew up listening to everything from Country to Heavy Metal in the '80s and '90s. Got lucky to marry a good guy who listens to the same stuff.

Mommy, that sucks!!!! So sorry to hear. Hope the MO comes up with an easy and effective treatment plan right away. In your pocket! Hugs for you tonight.

(((Lori)))—in your pocket!
Spoke with my PCP this afternoon. He sincerely doubts that there's anything wrong with my bone marrow (no aspiration necessary, whew—last thing I want is to have that trochar rammed into my hip like into a wheel of Hickory Farms cheese); but that the low-normal reticulocyte count might be because my Hgb is still high enough that it isn’t triggering the alarm to start cranking out more cells. My iron sats are good, but he concedes my ferritin's pretty low. He says, especially in light of the fact that I felt sort of "pre-refluxy" Sunday evening (even though I could have wine I didn't want any) and that I'd had some nighttime episodes of "acid brash" after eating chocolate or fat too close to bedtime, it's time to look at my upper GI tract as the source of a probable slow "ooze" again. He said at my last EGD in 2013, my Hgb was 12.3 and I tested negative for H.pylori.
There are two ways we can go: do a blood test for H.pylori, and if positive I'd have to do either 10 days on a tetracycline—can't do penicillin or Cipro--or 7 on (ugh) Flagyl (the latter of which means at least 11 days of no alcohol, not even in toothpaste, mouthwash or toner/astringent). But to see if it worked, I'd have to have an EGD. So we are going with option 2—EGD first. He's almost certain he's going to find at least some esophageal erosion, if not also a gastric ulcer, even with a negative culture for H. pylori. If that's the case, we continue the PPI—maybe switching me from one bedtime Dexilant to Protonix BID—avoid oral NSAIDs & heart aspirin (the krill oil is protective enough), and not eat (or drink anything acidic) w/in 2-3 hrs. before bedtime; and also add some iron for awhile. He's sending me to the top GI guy at Evanston Hospital, who was his own Chief Resident—rather than the guy at St. Joseph's who gave me only Versed, not even propofol, for my EGD because he wanted me to watch the procedure and see what he would point out to me(!). Thanks, but this time I'll wait till I come to before finding out.
My PCP also said to go work out, eat a nice dinner, have some wine with it, and then a Xanax at bedtime. Check, check, check…and about to “check."

Thanks Gals! Slept pretty well considering the news. Only thing that woke me up was a garden variety thunderboomers that came through about 3 a.m. Rolled over once the dog quieted down and went back to sleep until it was almost time to get up. Not letting this little hiccup worry me or stop me

Oh M0mmy! I am sorry this is happening.
In your pocket for your appointment, Lori.
Sandy, glad it sounds like this is a simple GI thing.

Mommyof2: "stinks: doesn't even begin to cover this kind of [redacted]. Keep us posted, and be sure to add more gussets in your pockets. You know we'll be with you for whatever the MO sets up--have you at least got an appointment? (didn't see whether you'd posted that)

Mommy, hang in there (I'm a mommy of one, he was 2 when I started this crap, 6 at recurrence, just turned 8 last week.) Second round sucks but it's beatable.
Hey anyone want to come along with me and my attivan for my CAT on Thurs? I have room in my pocket. Praying hard. If it's clear again - no scans for 2 years and I get to replace radiated foob and get a neck lift in August. Either way, I emailed doc and said NO ARMY of people coming in to give bad or concerning news (I see him after and get Zometa infusion after scan). Just tell me the non-hair loss plan and I should be ok. Besides, headed to Cedar Point next week and would really like to just enjoy the ride(s). Literally. I'm feeling so great other than usual muscle aches/spasms in radiated areas and this nasty foob that scar tissue decided to shrink and pull halfway up to my shoulder.

In your pocket 7of9! And have fun at Cedar Point! One of my favorite photos ever is of hubby and me on the old fashioned wooden coaster they have....about the only time I ever got him on a roller coaster!

Still waiting for the MO's office to call and set up appointment. I will have plenty of room in my pockets for everyone to join me for a pocket party. If they go any longer than today or tomorrow I am going to be making a phone call. My BS wants to jump on this a.s.a.p. and told me if I need anything to call her office!

In your pocket, 7of9! Is that you on the horse? It's a small picture, so it's hard to tell.
M0mmy, they should definitely call you to set up an appointment by the end of today for sure. I'd call them tomorrow if you haven't heard.

I plan on it. My MO's office is pretty dang slow about calling to set up appointments.

7of9, in your pocket! Sandy, glad you are being taken care of. M0mmy, don't you hate when they are slow to call? As if they don't understand that people with cancer worry enough! My DH is seeing his PCP today. (that is unusual!) because he has been getting some swelling in axillary lymph nodes and a lump that comes and goes on his arm on the same side. Hopefully it is nothing but his lymph nodes doing their job but since his brother has lymphoma it worries us both.

Got fed up and called my MO, appointment is set and pockets will be extra roomy for Thursday

7of9, my fave coaster was the Gemini at Cedar Point—at the rickety apex of that first vertical drop, you’d swear you were gonna fly straight into Lake Erie! And the most wonderful drink I ever had was a Piña Colada at the beach bar of the hotel—probably because it was 102 outside and I’d just traversed the entire park. Was told now that I’ve had lenses implanted, no more coasters for me.
M0mmy and Molly’s DH—joining the pocket party.

in Molly/DH's pocket this afternoon, pencilling 'Mommyof2" in for Thursday.

7of9, Mommy and Molly's DH in all of your pockets! Praying everything will go smoothly with positive thoughts all the way around!
Sandy, sending prayers you're way that they figure out what's going on with you ASAP!
Lucy, how is your little DGS doing? Any news?
Thank you for all of your well wishes! My ouchy seems to be more of a tendon/ligament strain at this point. I know it hurt like a beegeeber when he pressed on it! MO said it felt like the tendon/ligament was getting out of the way and felt like a lump for a few milliseconds. I'm just doing some gentle massage to see if it relaxes a bit. I'll keep an eye on it and if it changes I'll make another appointment. I also had an appointment with my PCP this morning. We're trying to figure out if my depression is raising its ugly head or if I'm confusing it with chemobrain. We've made an adjustment in my meds so we'll see what happens. I'm feeling a little manic depressive at times. Running around going 90 to 0 in 3.2 seconds! Weirdest thing ever!
👋 Hello to anyone I may have missed. Sending gentle healing hugs and prayers to All! 🙏🤗

Lori, definitely sounds like a soft tissue injury. Still sucks but it’s not serious. If it hurts to touch it, that means it’s closer to the surface, and topical stuff like heat, ice, menthol or arnica gels will be more effective than if it were a deep muscle strain.
