DH appointment went well. Thanks for being in his pocket! Doctor thinks it's fatty lipoma that he's feeling. I think DH is still worried but at least he's going to schedule a colonoscopy! I also convinced him to work on losing weight. He's a good 40 pounds overweight.

M0mmy, in your pocket for Thursday. Way to go getting it scheduled!

Yikes—the first upper GI endo appt. I could get was Aug. 3. So still no NSAIDs till then (but I can have a drink every now & then). Also, not to start taking iron yet until we know for sure what the cause is. My iron-binding capacity is normal, though ferritin is very low. Taking iron now could mask the cause.

Mommy, So sorry f'in' cancer has progressed. F cancer! Prayers.

Molly, Glad they think it's a lipoma. I had one removed when I was in my thirties.... and thin.

7of9, Prayers and in your pocket.

In the scheme of thing I know this is minor, but it's really thrown me for a loop. My favorite, dearest friend (and her family) is moving to Italy. It's an excellent adventure but I feel so sad. I hope to visit her, but it's not the same.

Time to rent Roman Holiday (found out from our tour guide that the famed Bocca della Verita is actually a Roman-empire-era manhole cover) and Three Coins in the Fountain, pick up a copy of Under the Tuscan Sun…and book your trip now on Alitalia.

Glad that it's just a slight progression and not a major one. Still disapppointed that this came about but nothing I can do about except for fight. Been getting lots of support from friends and family.

M0mmy, glad you got your appointment scheduled. In your pocket tomorrow!

Molly, that's good news about your DH. I'm sure he's not looking forward to the colonoscopy, but it's important to get these things done.

Sandy, August 3rd is quite a wait. At least you can have the occasional glass of wine in the meantime.

Lori, I think after having surgery and radiation, we're a lot more prone to the tendon/ligament ouchiness. We have been through a lot!

Yay for good news for DH, Molly. Let me know if you have success with encouraging him to lose weight: I am in the same boat. (and could certainly stand to lose 30 lbs myself! ).

In your pocket still for Thursday, Mommy...

oh, and Poppy....I'm with Sandy. I know it is tough and that you will really miss your friend but hopefully you can embrace the up side! Skype helps, and visits of course....I've never been to Italy and really need to remedy that myself.

I guess the one upside would be that you will have an excellent excuse to visit Italy, Poppy. Do they intend to stay indefinitely, or is this just for a few years?

I want to see Italy some day. Hubby went to Rome and I think Naples once when his ship was in port during his days in the Navy. I told him if we ever get there, I want to see Pompeii

Mommyof2 - Italy is a dream trip for my husband and I. If I live to see my son off to college in 9 years I think that's a Mediterranean cruise we'll plan. Who can be sad there?

My friend is moving to Genoa for 3 years. Not Tuscany, Milan, Rome... I'm hoping to visit once they've settled in.

I love you guys. My head is so excited for her to have this adventure, while my heart hurts a bit.

Now dreaming of a group trip to Italy with the CrazyTown denizens. Even if only in my imagination. I'd want to to to italy to eat too, myself.

I am very worried that when I see my MO tomorrow that she is going to say that I will have to have more chemo. I just got my hair to mid-back and I really don't want to lose what progress I have made with it.

Mommy: (trying to find the right words of sympathetic support) I haven't Beppy's skill with a database (yet), but remind me, in a PM if you wish, what your recent test results have been? Our minds always do go down that particular rabbit hole, no matter how tenuous the evidence, but we'll be here for you whatever the verdict.

Florence is on my bucket list, for sure—need to spend more than just 2-1/2 days in Tuscany, in order to see more towns.

Don't really know if they would do that, Cubbie. The thing that concerns me about this latest issue more than my hair is that the node of concern is on the left side and I am left-handed

About 7 years ago Hubby and I went a tour through Italy ..going on a tour was excellent because we got to see so many places , and even on the bus the tour guide spoke to us about dufferent landmarks on the country side etc ..The highlight of that trip for me was it ended with 5 nights at Sorrento and Capri ..which I loved.

    Molly ..great news !

    Mommy ..thinking of you ..

Hubby and I have friends who are Sicilian and they treat us like family. Every time we go over to their house they don't let us leave unless they are sure that we are full. They always send food home with us.

When I was in high school & college, we lived on the top floor of a 2-flat in E. Flatbush. After a couple of years, it was sold to a Sicilian couple—who were always sending food upstairs: homemade arancini, pastas, cannolli, and deep-fried “seven fishes” on Christmas Eve (especially when they knew I’d be going out caroling afterward with my college chorus). And homemade limoncello. Still miss them (the landlord & landlady too).
