Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Enjoy the long weekend!

So I finished 19 of 30 and my skin is holding up great. The stretching exercises have helped with my tightness so thank you. Been very tired, especially on the weekends, looking forward to 4 days of relaxation and a good book.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Thanks, everyone! I agree that stretching is helpful. Still pretty itchy but we stayed home this year for TG and it's just my family so I can wear big tshirts and be comfortable today, which I am grateful for.

Yay, Trvler! Big shirts are a good idea for everybody on a day like Thanksgiving!
0 -
Ah yes, big shirts and no bra
0 -
Not to mention elastic waistbands (or not buttoning the regular ones).
0 -
Haha. I haven't worn a bra in weeks, except to work out. You don't really need one when you have no nipples.

Congratulations, ChiSandy and Tryvler! And so many, many thanks to queenmomcat,Brutersmom, rainnyc, Molly50 and bluedog for the lovely comments!
I haven't been on here often because...well, because. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We had my mom up so it was just the three of us. I did a substantial amount of the cooking, which for three people isn't much. I made a turkey breast rather than a turkey. Mom brought stuffing, squash, etc. She's 91 with a minuscule kitchen so some of it, ahem, didn't make it to the table.
Then Mom announced we were going to do it again at my brother's place! He and his family just got back from New Orleans last night so we'll see. My husband is going to his sister's in Pennsylvania tonight so he can't help. My brother is a great cook so he'll probably want to have a say in what happens!
Question: is anyone else having body pain? My arthritic knee only hurts once in a while, but my hips are KILLING me and my lower back woke me up several times last night. I'm stretching, which helps. But it's a burning pain. It might be from sitting too much. I'm not walking much because of the fatigue, and a dog walker has come every afternoon for Fletcher. The skin on my upper chest over my boob itches like a motherf*cker. The skin on my left breast is darker than the right, but I'm not sure I'd notice it except that I'm so pale. I've referred to it as "barbecued tit".
PS I posted a separate thread about the body pain.

Hi all. I completed 28 rounds of rads and 5 boosts on 11-20. I have 2 spots that are finally scabbing over with the help of Silvidine cream. I will return to work 11-30. I started Arimidex 11-21 and the only SE seems to be some dizziness that passes in a few hours. I may have to start taking it closer to bedtime. I am so grateful to have made it through surgery and radiation.

Cuddy: I love the b-bque tit. Ask for a steroid ointment for the itching. You have to use small amounts but it does work. Over the counter stuff didn't work at all on me.
My neck is starting to fade and feel better but my back is still really red and itchy even though I stopped that one last Thursday. Now, the rib area under my breast is starting to really hurt. I guess that will be the next area to feel bad. Other than that, it is getting better.

i Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I started my Thanksgiving by going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas show. They are talented musicians have great stage effect, light shows and pyro show. This year the managed to set off the Fire Alarm in there finally but now one heard it for the music. Then I had Thanksgiving breakfast at my house with the kids. A tradition I started because some in-laws have no respect for spouses of their children and I figured I needed to be the mature one and do a work around. Then we headed to my brothers house about an hour away to spend the rest of the day with them. Got to see my new great nephew. What a cutie and my soon to be new great step-nephew. Tired today but it was worth it. Might opt for some black Friday shopping a little later after I finish a few work related tasks. This is a slow time of year for me so I decided to enjoy the weekend even thought the office is open.

I think my RO should have prescribed the silvadene. I am nearly purple / black in a couple areas in my armpit. Trying my best to avoid skin to skin contact. Ugh

Molly, you cannot call today and ask for a prescription? I'm so sorry to hear you are suffering. You were doing great for most of it

Just finished 16 of 33. I'm enjoying the four day break from rads. Itching and redness but no skin breakdown yet. Nurse keeps telling me it will happen any day. Emotionally I'm doing better than when I started. My crying spells have stopped and I found a counselor who is a survivor. I had a hard time with my male specialist face being two inches from my nipple (trying to find the tattoo). They are all very nice so I'm getting more at ease with it. I have left over meds from chemo to deal with nausea. It tends to hit as I'm driving home. I work in the morning and go to rads in afternoon. Still frustrated with getting coworkers to understand that I'm struggling with chemo brain and this new shortened schedule. They are extremely supportive but not understanding that they cannot rely on me to pick up loose ends like I was before all of this started. One good thing that happened this week: my hair is growing back

Marijen, I nearly did call and then remembered that I have lidocaine I can add to my aquaphor and I have some miaderm with lidocaine in it. I feel better plus I just need to keep it moist because my dry skin is what is hurting. Thanks for caring.

Oh good Molly, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. You have two more days to recover a little. I put miaderm on my Christmas list.

The miaderm with lidocaine I bought on Amazon has 4 % lidocaine in it.

Been a while since I've posted, finished rads Oct 9. Been 4 months since surgery. Over the past 3 weeks, I've developed deep pain in my breast. I'd describe it as imagining I was kicked in the boob 5 minutes ago Wondering if this is a late side effect of rads, particularly the boosts? Plan to cal my doc next week, just wondering if others have experienced this.0

Hugs Horsegirl. Please let us what you find out. I get those occasionally but they are very quick.

My bs’ nurse warned me pre-op at my “patient education session” that I would probably get strange fleeting pains--almost like zaps or stabs--as neural pathways that were cut or otherwise disturbed during surgery or rads reconnect and “awaken.”

Let us know what you find out Horsegirl. I had them for several weeks after I finished radiation but they have pretty much stopped. I will occasionally get a tingling sensation it I do something strenuous. I finished October 26th.

Hello Fall 2015 Rads! I just completed 19 sessions (15 +4 boost). My skin got especially irritated where it had previously been sun damaged. My main frustration now is that my muscles get super tight (had lumpectomies on both sides) so by the end of the day my arms are junk, and the skin across my chest is super tight (and too fragile still to massage). I know this is all going to pass but does anyone have any suggestions to help get through the next few weeks.
Just started Arimidex two days ago...looking forwarding to putting this all in the REARVIEW MIRROR!
