It was 100% ER+ and 90% PR+ - Allred scores of 8. It's been almost four years for me - four since I found the lump.

    66% er+ and 66% pr+

i was told that 66% for ER+ was strong, and 66% for PR+ was moderate. so the percents have different values i guess, i was too stressed and scared at the time to clarify this.

    Hugs to All :)

    DayLily15,

They may have been talking about the staining. I was 75 to 80 ER+ with strong staining, and 70 to 80 PR+ with strong staining. I think the staining is a different than the number of cells that were positive. I read somewhere that strong staining can be a good indicator of response also.

At my hospital they stopped reporting % ER/PR+ a few years ago. They report whether the tumor is or is not positive for ER/PR receptors based on the following stratification:

The percent of immunoreactive nuclei in the tumor cells is assessed visually and reported as follows:
    - The tumor cells stain (> 10% of nuclei stained)
    - Some tumor cells stain (1 to <10% of nuclei stained)
    - Rare tumor cells stain (< 1% of nuclei stained)
    - The tumor cells do not stain (0% of nuclei stained)

    Mine was reported as:

The tumor cells stain for estrogen receptor protein.
Focally, some tumor cells stain for progesterone receptor protein.

I don't think %ER/PR+ matter much for the treatment options. For example, I would expect they put everybody who is in the first bucket (>10% of nuclei stained) on some form of hormonal treatment anyway, whether they are 15% or 99%. And we know that when progression happens, it is often a different type and the original tumor's receptor status does not matter unless it is confirmed by new biopsy.

ER+/PR-. Never thought/'worried' about that. Or my Stage IIIc or being IBC. Just living every minute I have to live to the utmost. Next month will be 8 yrs since,DX (still NED) and living every minute to the utmost is what matters to me.

As far as I am concerned - life is to be lived.

I am 99% ER and 98%PR......from this article below it tells me that I am at high risk for late recurrence due to my high PR status......which is why I am never letting go of my Femara. I am 13 years out....but I know at any time this beast may choose to raise its ugly head. With all that I do try to not think about it too much.

    Discussion

We investigated factors associated with late recurrence in primary breast cancer. Risk of recurrence persisted from the first treatment to at least 20 years after treatment, and the risk is significantly increased even in patients with lymph node metastasis occurring >10 years. Regarding the biology, a reverse phenomenon was seen compared to early recurrence. The recurrence risk ≥10 years was high for the patients positive for ER and PgR, with low Ki-67 index and luminal/HER2- subtype, and negative for HER2 and p53. Multivariate analysis revealed that lymph node metastasis and PgR positivity are significant factors for late recurrence in all the tumors as well as ER-positive tumors. The recurrence rate beyond 10 years was low, and as a result the power of statistical analysis may be limited. However, the results indicated that late recurrence would occur in the PgR-positive patients with lymph node metastasis.

I was 100% ER/PR at diagnosis back in Nov 2006, with a 9 cm ILC tumor and 2 + nodes. I am 10 1/2 years NED and assuming I will stay that way. 🙂

    Cheers!

I can't remember what they said my ER/PR percentage was but I think it was up there. HER2 0%

I had 22/30 nodes positive and am 16 years out with NED. Like Elizabeth19 I will be on an AI until I'm 100 as well.
