Snickers is totally not interested now that she's older. But when she was young, she would bat at the lower ornaments until she got them off. Then she didn't care about them anymore. But we did have one cat - Mrs. Beasley - who ate a piece of tinsel one year. I'll never forget the kids laughing and hollering "mom! Mrs. Beasley has tinsel hanging out of her bum!" Yeah, I had to grab the end of it (luckily it was hanging about 4inches out from under her tail) and pull it out. It really was hysterical. I wish cell phone cameras had been invented back then!

How about hanging the tree from the ceiling?

LOL on the tinsel butt!!! Wasn't that a nice Christmas present for ya!

DebAl your Cali sure is pretty. I had a kitty named Pixie that used to perch and look down like that. She loved to have me toss a toy mouse up to her that she could batt back down to me.

yeah, why do they always do that between railings?? Mine always drove me nuts doing that. They never jumped and never fell, but I always ran to grab them! Maybe they do it just to see what our reaction will be.

Our one-eyed orange tabby boy used to sleep on the deck railing with all 4 legs dangling, just like lions in Africa. It is almost a story off the ground. I think the neighbors were more scared than I was. He lost his eye as a kitten, and it never seemed to stop him from anything he wanted to do.

My cats loved their beds at first but when we bought the multi-tiered cat tree, they started sleeping there more.

Nothing like trying to sweep and mop the kitchen floor with a kitten underfoot. Grace decided it was time to be a bit of a pest today while I was trying to clean my kitchen floor.

This is my little tortie, Maya...She is always full of surprises! (“Yes, pet me”...”Go away”....”I think I might take a swipe at you today”...”Can I curl up in your lap?”) 😻

Rah, thanks. Cali is a cutie. Her white paws glow in the dark which cracks me up.

And the tinsel butt story was hysterical!! Glad to know the fascination with hanging through the rails is common

    Maya is a cutie!

They showed a cat on the news..in a nearby county I believe..that was shot with a bow and arrow. 2 inches from the heart. They are sure if it was intentional or an accident since its hunting season. Anyway, need to get a donation over there to help with surgery bill

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Indeed. Amazing that the poor cat has survived and hopefully will recover. Family's pet cat killed in Ireland last weekend by a pack of fox hounds. Sad (Don't get me started ....)

    I'll join this thread!

I just adopted 2 kittens at a Black Friday special adoption day... 3 days before my last chemo treatment. I have had them one week now!

They are a bonded pair, sisters. Simone (white face), and Nadia. Simone is a bossy, confident, slightly clumsy hunter. She is very affectionate and purr-y, and loves to mash her face in mine. Nadia is delicate, precise, smarter and more watchful, but she too will snuggle up most of the time, especially if I let her approach me.

When I get back to normal, I'll send some artier shots!

BTW I think "get kittens" belongs on the 'advice for chemo' thread... It totally changes your mood and makes lying in bed very amusing!

Pairs are definitely the way to go with kittens. They can play with each other rather than wearing out all adults in the household. We had a 1 year old foster adopted by a family who had another and wanted a break from playing all the time.

Got woke up to a nice surprise. Since we adopted Grace, Princess hasn’t come up and jumped up on my bed to wake me up. This morning she came in and jumped up on the bed. Granted she only stayed there for a few seconds, but it made me happy.

SantaB, welcome! Simone and nadia will have each other! Agree with wren, pairs are the way to go! Kids are gone, less activity here so it's nice they have each other. Good news mom of 2!!

Yep, she even let me carry her upstairs when I got dressed for a little Princess and Mommy time. She laid on the bed and let me shower her with attention.
