I canโ€™t do any decorating this year. House is being worked on and no where to put a tree while this is happening.

I have had to tie my tree to the ceiling. I have a hook I screw in above the tree and use fishing line to tie it so it wonโ€™t fall when the cat gets in it. Merlin did okay last year, but some of my ornaments were sacrificed by the time the holidays were over.

Look at him. Under the warmie blankie. Nut. image

I can totally relate to the all of the cartoons related to Christmas. So funny.

TaRenee - Merlin looks like he has a trick up his sleeve. He is plotting something. LOL

This was our late 6 foot tree (felled by Arthur) in 2014. That was the y year we duct-taped it to the ceiling.

That felling was the beginning of the end for that tree. It was lop-sided ever after.

It bit the dust last year because pretty much if you opened a door the tree leaned over. We ended up with it propped in a corner against 2 walls. DD for ever wanting to buy a big one again. Me (Scrooge) not wanting to. I'm on my "the smaller the better" kick. We have a couple of small fibre optic jobs and Bah humbug is not shopping for any more trees!

Guess Grace got tired of me scolding her for playing with the ornaments. She hasn't touched them once today!

Have to agree with Santa. Cats see birds and think "How thoughtful of them, they provided me with breakfast, lunch and dinner"

santabarbarian, so true. Bird ornaments predated cat, but cat on a mission to make sure they didn't postdate him.

LOL feelingfeline. That tree situation is something else! I'm sorry..I only breezed through the last few posts. Did you come home to that or hear it? I need to show my husband that one!! I already forgot who Merlin belongs to but he is gorgeous. Hope you all have a great night. This thread always makes me smile.

Guys, my cat is a wuss :( She's scared of dogs, no matter how geriatric, quiet, and motionless. She's scared of children. She's scared of kittens a quarter her size. She was horrified by a mouse toy i got her that squeaked.

(I've had her as a sole pet since i found her about 5 years ago, she's never lived with another animal, not much I can do about that now).

She is mostly a happy cat! She loves adult strangers and goes around outside in the courtyard on her leash and chases leaves and birds and bugs. But she cowers from all these things. What can I do with such a scaredy cat! Does anyone have any stories of a scaredy cat becoming more bold?

The longest I've tried was dog sitting for a friends' small dog (weighed the same as she did, spent most of its time happily in its crate, completely ignored her). She would sit on top of the highest thing she could find and stare at it. Finally after a week she peed on me and I knew she'd had it.

Salamander, Don't worry about it and just let her be herself. DH bought a bird toy that made noise and our cat, Lola, was terrified of it. One night he stepped on it accidentally and broke the noise maker. After that it was her favorite toy. If you found your kitty, she may have had past incidents that gave her the fears. I don't think cats need companions. Some love them, but many just want to be the queen all by themselves.

Beautiful picture DebAL, would make a lovely Christmas card.

Tree thing happened in early morning, before breakfast, we heard it.

I agree with Wren. I love your tree, Feeling Feline. And those kitties, DebAL, what a precious photograph! We never put a tree up anymore at Christmas. Enjoying all the comments and photos!!

Our stray kitty left me a stack of mice this week. I feed him and try to provide a warm place for him (my husband assures me he does fine outdoors, and does not want another cat, I do have more than the average person). I have never seen so many mice in a little pile like that. I had my husband move them over the fence so I dare not have to look at them again (or the cats on our catio, just beyond their reach).

Was cuddling Gace today and had a shock when she yawned, she lost one of her baby fangs. The new one is already growing in! That little ball of fluff that she was when we brought her home is growing up so fast!

Absolutely hysterical! I'm standing here laughing out loud and trying not to wake up DH! It is so typical of a cat! I love the whacking tail all the time!
