My big black cat, Squeakers, was in the back yard. The lab next door decided to bark at him. Squeakers ran to the fence and growled at the dog - who decided running was his best option. We thought it was very funny.

    I present... Sebastian.

Male Flame Point Siamese, adopted at Humane Society when he was too young to be identified as such.

He is saucy, spoiled, and he is my fancy boy.image

Sebastian deserves to be spoiled!! He's glorious!

    I love Gizzy's coloiring!

I had my BMX Wednesday. Came back on Thursday, and Gus the Turd managed to slip through the screen in my daughter's room and escape. Just what I needed. We put up flyers reminding my neighbors to open garages and other spots he could have gotten stuck in, and Saturday he showed up as I was letting the dogs out one final time. So he's home, thankfully. He spent most of the day on the bed with me. Don't let that look of innocence fool you. image

Gorgeous cat & great name! I was at the dentist's yesterday and she was telling me about her dog, Otto Von Schnauzer. Some pets just need those noble names. Smile

    Heinrich has a "pawsome" mustache.

I am going to have to get on our actual computer to post some kitty pictures. I don't have any on my tablet that do the cats any justice.

Our shelter (the city one) had the annual "Kitty Hall" on Thursday. We take lots of kittens down to the city hall around lunch time, have a big tent where people can interact with the kittens, and have officers on hand to process adoptions and sell licenses. It gets a ton of publicity. The mayor fell in love with a kitten but had to check with his husband before adopting. I wonder if they did. It's a good promotion for the shelter and for selling licenses. The licenses help pay the costs for the shelter.

I'm not sure why I offered a Devon Rex breeder in Austria my help in finding one male Devon that she had sold to a horrible breeder nearly 3 years ago (she didn't know this breeder was horrible at the time) in the United States. What was I thinking - this would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I spent hours and hours this last month contacting people, researching people on the internet and FOUND THE CAT!!

I have learned more than I ever wanted to about the seedy underbelly of the purebred animal world - and not a country is immune from this ugliness, though I've learned North America might have more evilness in this department than other areas of the world. I am happy to say, for this cat's sake, and for reasons still unknown, this cat was fixed and sold (twice) and now lives a nice life (we presume) with a nurse and her sphynx. The worry was that he was kept as a breeder, put in a cage in some outbuilding somewhere (that is the life some horrible breeders subject their intact males to).

Still am waiting to hear from the actual, current, custodian of the cat, but from the news we got, he is in good hands. In the process, I met some wonderful people across the globe and here at home and one woman in Austria is extremely happy.

Oh my gosh, QuinnCat! What a mission of mercy. I can understand the heartache of the former owner, and now she can be happy that the cat has a good life. Good detective work!

Ooooo. I hope we can get that for the shelter. They are so scared when they come in and that might help them settle in and feel comfortable. They are saying album. Any idea what formats will be available? CD? Tape? Download? Available in the US?

What is happening to the time traveller? This is a more formidable adversary than he has ever met in all his incarnations.

Hi Smaarty, Jacob was home so Arthur got to "staycation" instead of bed&board at the cats pyjamas cattery where he went last year.

    image

This is where he went last year. Super cattery - huge 3 level "rooms". Best cattery I ever saw.Tthere is a top level that you can't see in the picture. All the rooms are "room with a view" with windows for cats to look out. So nice. Still I think he would prefer to be at home. Jacob said he was "strange" while we were away. So maybe he slightly missed us.

My cats seem to love the Jewel song "Angel Standing By." My tuxedo gets all mushy and loving. Could be a selective observation too.

New World Record for the 2017 Edition of Guinness Book of World Records

    image

Ludo the Maine Coon from Wakefield in South Yorkshire measures a whopping 3 ft 10.59 in long and brings this record title back to the UK following a six-year run between two record holders based in the US.

Ludo is one of three Maine Coons in the Gill household and owner Kelsey describes him as a just like any other cat, "relaxed and laid back cat" as well as loving a good sleep – he just happens to be a giant!

Someone has made a stuffed cat that has a pouch for heating material and a battery operated heartbeat. The rescue put it in with very young bottle baby kittens. We usually try to trap the mother and keep them together, but that didn't happen there.
