Yes, you could be guaranteed that is what would happen at our house. Arthur never met a cat bed he could like. Someone with a less discerning cat got a great bargain at the parish fete.

I saw info about one here that is connected to the house water and sewer lines. It uses a special litter that is washed after each use. People said they had to replace the special litter several times a year. It was expensive to buy and expensive to buy the special litter. If I had 3 cats or a compromised immune system, it might be worth the money. Lots of cats won't go in covered litter boxes. We had a cat surrendered to the shelter because the woman's husband had had a transplant and needed an extra clean environment. Nice cat, he'll find a home soon.

Hi! I just want to say that we got a new cat in January - a 5 year old stray we named Wilson. I truly believe he was destined to be with me during this period of my life. Shhhh don't tell the rest of the family how much this cat really makes me feel happy - they'd be jealous or think I'm crazy. But seriously, it's like he is here to assure me that I'm going to be ok. Right now he's simply sitting next to me, leaning against me. And I always called myself a dog person!

wren, I've seen the one that hooks to the water/sewer line, and I would love to try it out but am afraid my old girls will reject it.

VL, cats really are great for that. Mine can tell when I'm not feeling well, and they won't leave my side at those times

I'm glad Wilson found you and is providing support. Cats can be wonderful. You are both lucky.

One of the hardest things about having cancer was having to have my favorite cat euthanized the day we decided on the mastectomy (after a 2nd invisible tumor was found). She had cancer and the only treatment would have been amputating her leg at the shoulder. We didn't want to put her through that at 12yo. I still miss her. She would sleep curled up with her back against my tummy at night.

We had an angel stray kitten show up on the front door right when I was finishing treatment. I really don't think it was a coincidence, as she provided a lot of fun, liveliness, distraction, and drama (drama because we already had two adult cats who weren't exactly thrilled to have a baby sister!).

On the news here this morning a lucky cat story. This black cat was found near death and taken to the vet. The vet deduced the cat had been drinking anti freeze. The antidote was an infusion of vodka (who knew), and luckily one of the vet nurses had a bottle in her bag, that sounds like a discussion for another time.

According to the vet, the cat was "off its tree" and seemed to really enjoy the treatment LOL. My husband thinks the cat may go looking for more anti freeze, just for the treatment. All the cats I have had in the past have been black, nothing would surprise me with them.

Freya - Great story - that is one lucky black cat! Anti-freeze is usually fatal to cats. Vodka - who knew?

They can't find his owners, he has no microchip, so he is now up for adoption. He has been named "Tipsy", love it.

If he wasn't in another state I would offer to take him.

Quincy and Muppet are both handsome boys. The stray who chooses you will be a lucky cat.

Our 15yo foster cat was adopted on Sunday! He's gone to a home with a 10yo boy and another 15yo cat. The two cats look alike except for the shade of brown. His new brother is a redder brown. We have paws crossed that it goes well.

    Hi from a newbie !

Bubba, he is my ultimate therapy kitteh! He will get on my lap and apply himself to my achy body parts and he won't leave my side when I'm sick!

I made a few memes of him some time ago, he was famous for a day!

And now I have another foster cat. Gray short haired male with hyperthyroid and perhaps severe renal failure. I can't get him off my keyboard tray and he doesn't know how to type. He wants in my lap and is purring up a storm. He might not be healthy, but he's sure nice.

My current cat doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner. He will walk right up to it and watch. Our last foster cat bit me when DH started a hand vac in the room. Poor guy was terrified. I haven't tried to vacuum around the current foster cat. I love the video of the cat riding on the rumba.
