Ruthbru, I use the cats as an excuse not to vacuum all the time! :)

Wren, I LOVE that roomba video. Sadly, my cats are scared of my roomba. They hide from it.

I took foster cat Colby to the vet for blood work after being on his medication for 3 weeks. He has gained 2.94 lbs. It's good to know where those 2 cans a day of cat food are going. The vet tech was impressed with how much better he looks. Tonight he's still paying me back for the car ride in a carrier.

Mud Bay, a local pet supply store, has a party once a year for volunteers at animal shelters. They give you a food ticket, raffle tickets, drink tickets and announce the winners of the volunteers of excellence award. Each shelter can nominate one volunteer and there is online voting. It was so much fun. Three food trucks to choose from, free non-alcoholic drinks and tickets for the alcohol drinks. Their suppliers bring samples to hand out and info about their products. They even have samples of cat litter to see and smell. It's fun to meet volunteers from other rescues as well as having a chance to talk to other volunteers at your own. It's such a nice thing to do and makes shelter volunteers feel appreciated.

I've shared pictures of the three feral cats I feed. And these guys are the reason.

His brother Chloe (not even the vet could figure out his sex when he was a kitten).

And the two of them. image

Sorry for the size. I've tried downsizing but it doesn't work for me any more.

Thanks for the kitty pics! Keep them coming - can't wait until I can retire and have one of my own again.

Here are the three ferals who have adopted me. In the forefront is the little female. Back left is the one I call Guard Cat. He has actually growled a few times at people who approach the porch. And the one to the right in the back is Big Boy. He's polydactyl. Again, sorry for the size. It's unusually to get the three together. Guard Cat and the female hang out together all the time

Getting a photo of 3 cats is as hard as 3 toddlers. Great shot!

My 18 year old cat, Henry, is no more. Here is the 'obituary' I posted on Facebook in his honor:

We are so sad to say goodbye to Henry the Crabby Cat. Born in 1999, he lived a long, interesting cat life (i.e. eating, napping, prowling about). Summer was his favorite season and we are glad he got this last one to sleep in the sun, roll in the grass, annoy squirrels and birds, drink from the watering can, and supervise the world from the front porch. He will be missed!

Condolences. It's hard to loose a family member even when they're old and it's not unexpected. I'm happy he had one last summer. Hugs.

So sorry, Ruth. Losing our fur babies leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He was a handsome boy - I can just picture him doing all those fun cat things!

Ruth ~ So, so sorry your Henry has passed. You shared so many wonderful photos and stories of Henry and Oreo here - a loving legacy to both that will live on in these pages. May they both rest in peace in the warmth of the same Heavenly sunbeam.

WoW, I just found this thread. I have 10 cats, actually, 2 adult cats, a mother and son, who came to our backyard and my daughter fed them. This started around December 2016, and I finished my rads treatment 01/31/17; so in February, momma cat got pregnant and gave birth to 3 kittens, who are now 6 months, then she got pregnant again, gave birth 05/29/17. It gets overwhelming sometimes. My parents and others advised me to give some away, but I think it's a joy to keep them. I'm also picky of the person I give them to. Does all you ladies still work, how do you manage day to day things.

CaMommy, Reading your profile I'm amazed. Your mom is still going strong after 40 years. Do you mind if I ask about her treatment methods. Does she do anything differently to stay off recurrence. Sorry for going off cats topics.

I know, I haven't had chance to have Momma cat spayed because the had the kittens back to back. She has an apt and one for the male kitten. All the cats have been living indoors since May so I don't anticipate another birth.
