Happy weekend ladies just catching up

tessu just read your last post. Hugs to you. Rant away anytime. We are all here for one another thru it all.

tshire so glad to hear you are doing ok. Hoping all is going well for you with cold capping.

As far as hair stubblies I am holding off on rebuzzing as of yet. I think some of my hair is actually growing in spots on the side of my head. I buzzed 3 weeks ago and don't know if I am ready for full smooth bald yet. Baby steps for me.

Steriod night I take something to help me sleep nothing to strong I woke early the next morning and was not groggy.  Maybe see if you can get something prescribed I know you have small children and cant knock yourself out all together but if you could get a few quality hours in would be great.

Grey obviously very low hopefully she deleted herself when she was feeling desperately low.  Lets hope she pick will herself up and join us again.  If any of you are feeling low for days on end please talk to your doctors depression is a very serious illness but it too can be treated.

Your constipation, sleep-challenge and hair loss stories: those are my aggravations right now. Finally got something close to a night's sleep last night (last steroid dose was 36 hours ago). Hope I won't be a completely sleep-deprived zombie today. I've been eating lots of high fiber food, but need to up that game next round. May try daily psyllium before-and-during upcoming A/C.

For coping with the hair loss, a gentle scalp vacuuming 3x daily is working for me. It's surprisingly soothing and keeps the lost hair from going everywhere. Bald soon I hope. What's left is sensitive and getting more painful overnight.

I too worry about grey and hope she is getting help. In case you're reading, grey, your sisters-in-treatment are sending positive energy and support your way every day, from every corner of the globe.

I woke up with yet another cold. I guess this will be a monthly occurrence during chemo.

    Hi beautiful ladies,

Haven't been on here much, but wanted to stop by and say hello and wish you all well. You are often in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Round 2 hasn't been too bad. Didn't get the steroid high this time around. Didn't really feel them at all. Just been feeling a general, non-specific yuck and foggy headed. And this taste in my mouth is just gross. I have no words to describe it. Rinsing with Biotene and drinking as much fluids as possible to hopefully get rid of it. I'm on Day 5 now so should be feeling myself in another day or two. I'm not feeling any change in my tumor, so feeling a bit discouraged. Still have two more rounds so I will be patient and hope for some shrinkage soon.

    Hugs!! Kate

Minnesota and Artista - thanks for that tip. I'm going to ask my oncologist on Monday. I'll pretty much do anything to avoid another blown vein at this point.

On another note - woke up to my pillow covered in hair. Still on the fence about shaving it, this massive shedding is pretty crazy.

Starting to get anxious about my next round too. Anyone have a good TV series suggestion (on Netflix) that I can binge watch after round 2?

I love this group. The support is priceless. Hugs to all.

Binge watching on Netflix is reserved for Doctor Who in this house. First round of chemo I started over with the very first episode from the reboot. There's 8 seasons. It's been diverting. And harry potter on dvd. I also dipped a toe into Downton Abby.

Lindy love the picture you look great!

I was doing good but last night my lower back was  killing me! I could not move! Today same thing. It hurts more when I sit. Seems like a neurological pain. I don't know what the heck it could be . So frustrating because I was doing so well. Going to take aleve hope that does something.

Aga..did you have the neulasta shot? That would give the back pain. If not, then I'm not sure what it is although my doctor told me Taxol would contribute to bone/joint pain. I don't see your treatment plan so check with your MO to see if this is to be expected.

Netflix binge watching should include Weeds. Especially the first couple of seasons. Comedy does the trick for me.

Also finally got a "joint" from my son, from his personal plant. I was going to try it last night but the nausea isn't too bad right now. Maybe tonight, just a few puffs, to see if it helps. Day 4-7 seems to be the icky days for me. I'm sick and tired of feeling this way and am willing to try anything.

    Hi guys

Day 3 post second chemo. I'm at the infusion center for my neulasta shot and some IV fluids (pre-emotive this time). My blood pressure is coming up low.

Feeling mostly just tired. Want to go home and sleep.

Picked up my other wig yesterday from getting it colored. I think the color is better than the first one, but I'm finding them so uncomfortable in general ....like around my ears and getting in my face....like an alien on my head...lol

Here's the new one. Sorry I have no makeup on...lol.

edwsmom your color is great. I agree about wigs feeling like an alien on the head. Still haven't worn mine out in public a lot. I pickup my second wig thiswed before infusion. I hope it doesn't feel weirder than my first wig.

Do the anti nausea meds cause constipation or diarrhea? I need to take them but not if it's going to add to bowel issues. I feel so sick today. Bleh.

the only thing that settles the queasy is carby food. I'm going to weigh the same as a small planet by the time chemo ends.

Thanks ladies. I think I'm super self conscious about the hair.

Just got the neulasta shot. Almost done and I can head home. I just want to crawl in bed. :/

I have the same ones as Southern. They had me switch back to Ondansetron since they were concerned the other one was contributing to my headache.

I finally wore my wig out on Friday but I'm too tired to even think of putting on anything but a scarf/hat right now. Just want to feel some energy. I'm tired and bored all at the same time

edwsmom..you look fabulous. I'm slowing getting used to mine. Im actually liking more than my real hair and am joking about keeping my head buzzed forever and keep the wig. Never another bad hair day..lol

Aga. I'm taking Claritin 24 hour the day before, day of and following 3 days after the shot. Also Zantax for stomach and it seems to be working for me. I get minimal discomfort. These pills work together for some reason and won't hurt so if you're not doing it, try it. If you are, up the dose.

Edwsmom- Love the wig. Doesn't look like one! Did you get it online? If so, where?

Annie - I have the same meds (Southern does too, they are just the generic names, but all the same). Doc says they cause constipation, but even with me taking those, I ended up with the big D this morning, so who even knows!!! Try adding some Prilosec. I found that a constant heartburn was adding to my nauseous feeling, and now that it's under control, I don't seem to need the nausea meds so much.

Edwsmom - you seriously look great!!!

Aga - my Neulasta pain was horrific in my lower back and hips after the first round. I tried Claritin the day before my injection this time, and have taken it daily since, and my pin has been minimal, thankfully! Certainly worth a try!

Oh my word, this hair is falling out so fast now! I'm going to get it buzzed tomorrow....just have to figure out how to control the shed til then

And surprisingly, I had zero trouble falling asleep last night! Didn't even take an Ativan

I don't have heartburn. I've been taking nexium. I feel like I've been eating greasy cheeseburgers on a boat ride all day. My steroid constipation has turned into painful cramping D. I'm going to have to break down and take the nausea meds. This round is turning out a wee bit worse than the first round. I have a low grade fever and a bit of a cold along with it. The nuelasta bone pain was a day shorter but who notices with all the other stuff!

Sorry to hear Annie. In my chemo teach class they told me take meds even if you feel fine, so imo take the anti nausea ones religiously. Best wishes. xo

Nothing wrong with laying around Southern. You have to do what you're body feels like, which is today, rest. Wishing you a better day and tomorrow! xo

Southern dear I'm right there with you. I'm not hungry but food is in my stomach is the only thing holding back the queasy.
