    Hey Patty,

How was the movie? Which one did you pick?

We have spring break next week, and I'll be home alone with the children, hubby will be away on business. We're trying to decide how long DS will be visiting us from his residential school.

Nice to see you on FB. I put some of my favorites including some a flute performance and a choir class photo in the "featured photos" section.

Patty: I saw Zootopia and it was really cute. You and the DSS may like that. It is an animated movie.

Patty, I posted a new photo on Facebook from Holy Week. And I'll put it here for you so you don't have to go to FB.
This is me with Diane the organist, and Molly the guitarist.

    image

Sorry, I didn't get a picture of the soprano from Sunday's "Aus liebe will mein Heiland sterben" (Out of love, my Savior is willing to die) from JS Bach's St. Matthew Passion, BWV 244. Here's a recording (not of me) so everyone else knows what we're talking about.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCY_AiazQoQ

Next it's back to my church for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday. We have a rehearsal on Wednesday, so I'm playing every day.

    Tootie too!!

great pic. Did you purposely go tallest to shortest or just happened ? Loved the music. Thanks for posting it here to save me a fb trip. Your schedule sounds exhausting but you obviously love it. Very talented indeed

Today I having a horrible pain day. Guess the last few days of activity eith no nap or rest has caught up to me. Gonna take pain med and lay back down and hope I wake up feeling better.

Take the pain meds! I find when I over do it laying flat and zoning away until it calms down is the only thing that works! Hope you enjoy Spring Break. We are here. (((Gentle hugs)))

Hope you feel better. Do you have any CDs with relaxing music, ocean waves etc? Sometimes that helps with the zoning out.

O Patty, I hope you are feeling better after your nap. Gentle waves of comfort coming your way.

I did not notice, nor did we did not plan, the height thing. Looking closely, I think it is an optical illusion. Diane & I are about the same height, but I am closer to the camera and she is slouching a bit. Molly is a wee bit shorter, but not that much. Amazing that I actually look so tall in that picture, as I am only 5'2", LOL!

    great idea Ruth

Mominator. I would have guessed you to be much taller by looking at the pic . how did today go ?

Dh took dss and friends for laser tag and bowling why I napped. I woke up with the same pain. Luckily it's not a 10 scale. Able to take small amount of pain meds and stay awake. Ds2 is having a friend spend the night o good thing I got my nap. Was too lazy to cook so just put some frozen pizza in the oven and had a salad. Boys were just as happy with that.

Tomorrow I have my port accessed for the first time. It's my home health RN who will do it. It is still tender so I am kinds nervous. The part in my neck is looking red. Hoping it's not infected but glad I won't have to necessarily go see the mo for antibiotics. They can just call Dr and tell him what they think and he will prescribe antibiotics if necessary.

zootopia made me laugh out loud! Want to take my ds this coming week! So sorry about the pain. I hope it gets under control! I probably shouldn't but I do have meds for every function....depression meds, anxiety meds, pain meds, get up and go meds, break thru pain meds, meds to make me poop. Meds to stop me from pooping too much, meds for nausea, more meds for nausea plus puts me to sleep. Meds to squash estrogen production. Meds to help with neuropathy and hot flashes (a two for one deal right there!). Meds to put me to sleep....not permanently....so very thankful to have the option of taking them. I really, really hope home health can get you back on the right track to feeling better! No more n/v! No more pain! Or at least a lot less!!!! Wish I could be there to support you better

kjones, I know you were being serious but that was pretty funny! Patty I hope the home health makes a dramatic difference too. You sound like such a great Mom. Every little thing you do with those boys is bigger than you think. And never underestimate the tremendous value of retail therapy!

  • PattyPeppermint
    PattyPeppermint Member Posts: 8,950

artist at heart. Aww thanks. I don't want to get my retail therapy by myself. Dh says I shop for old ladies clothes. Def no sense of style. Last time my mom was here I got dressed and went in to yell mom I was leaving she asked my I had her shirt on . huh ??? Looked in closet and we had a few shifts exactly the same. Lol. My best buddy was supposed to take me but she couple days ago s very large lump (made my port seem small ) appeared at her collarbone. She had BC right before me the first time in 2002. She sent our mo a pic and quick note on line this am and within a couplr hours they called her back with an ultrasound and mo appt for tomorrow. Doesn't sound good. She is confident it's progression. I hope not. She's been my support. Bringing food, setting up a donation account for me, taking my dss. She has 2 kids my dss age. Any prayers for her would be welcome

    Hugs

pp, some people who have very tender spots and not a lot of meat on those bones have lidocaine rubbed on the port first. After awhile scar tissue forms, in there, sometimes that'swhen people start using lidocaine. Just food for thought. Hope it all goes well, and pray you are feeling better today. Hugs

whew. Home health accessed my port today. Easy peasey. Was worried about nothing. Didn't even feel the needle going in. She said since first access she brought the tiniest needle possible. Yea ! Feeling good !

Yeah, Patty, happy port day! I'm so happy for you.

What medicines did she put in the port? Is your neck better? Are you feeling better today?

Wednesday's rehearsal went well. I'm trying to catch up on some paperwork, calm before the storm. I'll be playing 5 masses/services over 4 days. Sunday I'm playing at two Masses 10:00 and 11:30. Hubby is Eucharistic Minister at 10:00. Also, Hubby got a call today, they're looking for more "apostles" for the washing of the feet tonight. So Hubby, and maybe also DD2, will be apostles.

If you want, I can give you the link to watch online. Our parish has a live feed now. You could hear me play.

Hey Patty, here's the link to the "live" feed.

    http://livestream.com/accounts/11714562/events/3786245

I say "live" because it's live, plus you can also scroll back several hours. The current file looks like it started around 2 AM, and has about 13 hours on it so far. Example, if you scroll to 9:38 on the feed, you can see the sacristan getting the chairs ready for the apostles. DD got all excited when we asked her if she wanted to be an apostle.

I hope your labs have good results.

Edited to add: Thursday Mass starts at 7:00  ET, Friday is 3:00 but I'll be in our other church, Saturday starts at 8:00 PM ET, Sunday again I'll be at our other church (but there will be masses at 7:00am, 9:00am, 10:30am, 12 noon on the live feed).

Patty: glad your first port access went so well! I think pizza is always a hit with kids. (and I'm a big kid!) Hoping things are positive for your friend. Maybe just a weird fattydeposit or something else B-9 .

think tomorrow we will make some homemade pizza. They always love that. We also have some sugar cookie dough already made in a roll. They were for Christmas but I was in the hospital. Will cut and decorate them. Who cares if I only have Christmas shapes. Lol. Gotta go back and look for some more suggestions . dh is taking ds1 fishing in the evening so ds2 and me might work on their scrapbooks. He loves stuff like that. Thank for the suggestions all.

Frosting & decorating cookies was one of the really fun things we used to do. When your boys mix the food coloring together, does the color always come out army green? That's the color we always got because DS would mix ALL the colors together!

Yeah, I'm afraid I was born without the fashion gene as well. Luckily I have two DD's who have me hip it up. LOL! Sounds like you have a better Bf than mine. She has sort of dropped off of the radar since my Dx. We were great shopping buddies in my previous life and I miss her. However, I have some others who have stepped in so it's OK. I will definitely say a prayer for your friend tonight Patty!

Another easy thing to make is cake mix cookies. The recipe is on the internet for the various cake mixes. We would take chocolate cake mix, don't add as many eggs and oil and add white chocolate chips and it makes the best cookies. Easy and instant activity and good eats with milk. Have fun!

I missed out on the fashion gene too. I figure at my age it's hopeless. I have all girls and they got it. Must be the fashion sense from their Dad's side. Happy spring break.

Patty, does DS like perler beads? My kids love them and you can make almost anything with them. My kids made Dr. Who TARDIS, and characters from their favorite TV shows. DD1 made her best friend's face and hair on a mermaid body.

    Here's some more ideas.

oh yes,, cake mix cookies! Good mention and SOOOOO easy. And you can make so many flavors since cake mix comes in so many,,, I personally like the cherry cake cookies.

I don't have the fashion gene either. I blame it on growing up in the hippie days,,, bell bottom jeans, long straight hair, no makeup.
