My friend Lori had an emotional sister with tears in her eyes all the time. The oldest sister took emotional sister aside and told her "be strong: no tears in front of the 6 children." Sometimes people just need to be told. Tell your sister to "cry later, let's enjoy this time now."

Sending love and prayers to you, now and always. Madelyn

Sweet Patty....I hope your time with your sister is awesome!!!! My "baby" sister (I'm the older, too Chevy...maybe wilder & funner, right???...so it's not a word!), anyhoo...we exchange swooping in to save each other whenever we're faced with too much...which has been quite often..her babies' births, both of our cancers, surgeries & sometimes...just too much! So...let her take care of you & whatever you need...obviously she adores you (we all do!) & she will relish being with you & yours!!! Hugs!!!

hello all. Well my sister and family left today. It was hard to see her leave both of us wondering if this will be thd last time we see each other. Yes. I know none of us are promised tomorrow ever but it just feels so more real now. Sister did a great job of keeping emotions in check. Only had to remind her once when ds2 caught her crying. My favorite part was my bil and nephew took ds's out for a whole day of fun: bowling. Laser tag, pool , food etc. It gavel sis and I the perfect time to talk openly. I feel we said all those things that so many people never get the chance to say. Lots of tears and even lots of laughter reliving our past. Sis did lots of cooking and left many leftovers and some quick suppers in the fridge for us. She cleaned house inside and out , top to bottom. Just like her. She can't sit still. I am close enough to her to let her. only when she moved the couch was I a lilttle embarrassed of my declining house cleaning skills can't remember last time i moved all the furniture to clean under. Growing up She always took care of me as mom was working two jobs and out living her own life. So we are very close. I feel very confident after I am gone that she will stay on close contact to ds's and visit often reminding them how much I loved them and keeping my memory alive.

Anyway. Thanks for the continued support. Love y'all.

PS Patty underneath my couch looks like that too. It never looked like that in a pre-family life. Many children have no respect for the avoidance of mess until they grow up and have to do their own cleaning.

Not just under the couch but between the cushions! Best investment was a $20 dust buster on a stick. Kids fight to use it. But yes mines gross too. It's amazing what collects back there.

So glad your house is clean and you have some meals. Rest and enjoy.

Oh Patty, what a blessing to have that close of a relationship with your sister. It is one of the wishes I have for my two girls. It's good to hear she prepared future meals for the family and even cleaned your house top to bottom...God's provision and love. Wish your pain is managed better.

Sisters can be a true gift indeed, like BFF's that never leave your life. I am so glad that you had such quality time with her and that you feel she will step in to fill part of the gap when you are EVENTUALLY gone. I am optimistic and happen to think you will get more visits than you think...things can turn around so quickly for the better too, never forget that. Already SE's are looking up! Keep the faith Patty. We hope to be chatting with you for a very long time.

good evening all. Still enjoying no nausea and no hip pain. Woohoo !!!!! Next get rid of this back pain band I'll be posting pics of me out enjoying life. Woohoo. !!! Got so many things I wasn't to do with family , so much to show and teach dss and some time alone.

My port has been hurting. Actually it's the tail and abovce that where my juggler vein is. I guess that's where it is inserted into. It's red. Swelling and painful. If it looks worse tomorrow I'll go to walk in urgent care . Not sure if a few shirts I wore when sis was here just rubbed it or what. Hoping it can wait til Monday til mo is back or just Heals itself.

    Hugs all around

    Hi Patty,

So relieved to hear you are doing better and that your sister's visit brought you some much needed TLC. When you mentioned that she moved the couch to clean under it you inspired me to clean my very neglected bathroom (not quite inspired enough to clean under my couch yet).

I hope you continue to improve and are in less and less pain each day.

Sending love to you Patty. Just getting caught up. Glad you had a nice visit with your sister. Hopefully the lessening pain means the new plan is working! Keep an eye on that port...redness isn't good.
