Patty, you are in my thoughts a lot this summer!!! I had a short stay in the hospital in June. I had the dreaded v and d. After a brain MRI and three days of IV zofran,I was sent home. Never havin dx the problem. I feel like my next stay is just around the corner. I am always nauseous from tx.
My heart felt prayers go out to you daily!!!! Your little guys seem so adorable!💕

Esp love the bears. Feline.
Back to Mo today. Wbc, mag, and pot still low out of range. Got another shot of levequin and continuing the oral levequin as well. Fever still coming and going but much lower. 101.5.
My bestie who moved in next door ad a stroke 2 days ago. She was texting me but nothing made sense. She called crying. She couldn't find her way home. Went and got her and although pronunciation was good but logically no sense. Another friend took her to er were they verified stroke and in the last two days she has had several more. Luckily no permanent damage as of now. She is still in hospital and I made it up there for several hours yesterday I just was too sick to today. Plus scared I'll catch something more serious with weakened immune system. Feel so sorry she is all alone there. I can't imagine how I would continue to manage with out her help. She had bc in 2001 ?and she was so scared it had mets to brain causing these problems. Not are which is worse
Anyway ds2 is sick again today with fever and vomiting. I was supposed to have them today but instead I had ex keep them another day or two. I really don't need anymore germs. I feel guilty that I can't take care of him. That's what mom do , right ? Darn cancer
Hugs all

Patty- so sorry to hear about your BFF's problems. If there is no permanent damage, hopefully they can get her on blood thinners and she will be okay. So much stress for her with the unexpected divorce. I agree that the fear of brain mets must be scary. There is a lot of good care for stroke patients these days.
I have seen a number of people go through strokes and get rehabbed to live fully functioning lives. When my mom had her stroke, a woman came to visit her in the hospital room to talk to her about the fact she had had five of them and was able to recover each time. Where it happens in the brain and how quickly you get care is key. It sounds like she got to the ER right away. Hopefully she will have some visitors from friends and family during her time in house.
What a shame all of this is for everyone. Wishing you and her both better days

Patty, I am just now catching up here. M heart just hurt so much to read about your XDH already glomming on to a new woman. I would be so hurt and PISSED!!! Whoever said it was right "Men just need a woman" (or really a Mommy sub) Plus thinking of my kids having a new woman in their lives would drive me crazy. But I also believe some of these women are right when they say it will help you move on and focus on yourself. I would not want to be her either after only 3 months...
Just FYI, I was on Cipro a few weeks ago and I swear that was nasty stuff. I felt weak, sick and got a weird rash. I hated it. I'm glad you switched and feel better!
Sounds like you did such a good job with those boys and they will forever adore their Mom like no other. Every one of my 3 kids started to "dump" me in public right around age 12. Perfectly normal!
Gosh your poor friend. When it rains.......You girls will have each other to lean on for sure. But I agree yu have to have a good understanding on boundaries. I have a girlfriend right now who frequently wants to stop by "for a few minutes" and always ends up being here for 3 hours which lately has been exhausting for me. Plus I usually want to be doing something more constructive if I am feeling well so I end up getting annoyed. It is a hard conversation to start.....
Keep on feeling good Patty!

Patty, so sorry to hear of your friend's stroke. I hope her medical team are giving her the best of care. SHe knows you are dealing with illness too. Maybe you can send her a text some days i=when you cant visit. A good friend will understand. Also sorry for your wanting to take care of DS. Of course you know you are absolutely right to avoid those germs, they could play havoc with you and then where would you be but back in the hospital and still not able to be with DS's, but it is hard to get the heart to follow the head, even when the head is right! Hope he is feeling much better now.

Patty- Feelings suggestion of reaching out to your friend in the hospital by text or phone is a good one. I was in the hospital for 8 days back in 2012 with a ruptured appendix and people did come visit, but spent a lot of time there by myself. Those calls made all the difference. I was not allowed to keep a phone in the room due to theft concerns, so if you are not sure she has her phone with her, call the hospital main room number for her phone there. Might be good for both of you?
Artista- I have been working for awhile on boundaries with people, especially in the post BC world. Everything from my privacy needs around my bc world, to what I am willing to listen to from folks. There is a good book I have been hearing about called Boundaries and just ordered it actually.

Oh Geez, so sorry about your friend. Keeping in touch by phone sounds like the right thing for now.
Your DS's need you well, so it is smart for you all the avoid known germs. It seems awfully early for the creeping crud to be going around. Yikes! Maybe he will get it over with and be well the rest of the school year!
We have been dealing with the smoke from the Montana fires. Yesterday they had alerts that if you were going to do heavy work outside, you should wear a mask.....and we are hundreds of miles away. I can't image how the people in the fire zones (and especially fire fighters) deal with this. Very bad for the health of everyone!

Ruth I haven't seen the news lately so unaware of Montana fires. Yikes !! Hurricanes, flooding, tornados and wildfires. Wow. So many people out of their house or worse yet their houses are destroyed. So many with no electricity or clean water and even food. Makes me very thankful for what I have and also for the safety of so many friends and relatives. I had to get my map out to see where ND is in relation to Montana. Geography not my strong point. Use it or lose it right.
Thanks for the advice all on boundaries with bff. She is supposed to come home today. It is Def a hard subject to being up without fear of hurting feelings. But better a heart to heart now then when I just get fed up and blow up.
Feeling so much better today. Yea !
Hugs

Patty, yeah you're feeling better again.
With BFF, you could approach it that as she recovers from her strokes, there may be some days where she might not feel up for visitors as well.

Patty, it is raining like crazy here, which is good because it is cleaning out the air; and it is SNOWING in Montana, which they are thrilled about because, if it is heavy enough, the snow can smother the fires. Yes, the extreme weather around the country is very frightening!

Patty,I hope you are feeling well. Have a blessed day!!!!
