Just started with pimples, mouth sores today. The voice has been fading and gets weaker as the day goes on.

    Ahhhh the joys of chemo

I am going to make a remark and you can all laugh at me. You have my permission. I am looking at all the pictures of you ladies without hair and you have such nice ears. My ears are too big and they stick out, one side more than the other. I ALWAYS wear my hair to cover my ears. I have always done that since I can remember. It is going to feel as weird to have my ears uncovered as it is to have no hair on my head. I am going to have to get them a little bit of sun so they match the color of my face. They are very pale. lol

Hanley - you got a good head for the buzz cut! Seriously! And you inspired me - I have set the date..."Mani, Pedi, Shave my Head-ee" is set for this Sunday (Day 12 post chemo). This should give 'em something to talk about at work on Monday. :D

MLP3 - my voice is going south today too. Didn't know about this SE.

Praline - embrace the look. Wear knockout earrings!

Port in this morning, went fine, some soreness but I slept a lot today. Impending sleet/ice storm may give me a day off tomorrow ...that would be OK with me. First chemo (AC) Thursday. Have to pick up things on that chemo list...Sometimes it feels like some strange dream. Is this me? I have cancer?

    Hello Fab Febs,

I start chemo on Feb 26th.

I haven't cut my hair yet, but I will before it falls out. I've had long hair for most of my life so this will be interesting.

Been reading a lot to try to prepare (got my chemo bag), but still anxious. Glad to know I'm not alone. Wish there weren't so many of us.

Just like clockwork! Day 14 and clumps of hair are starting to pull out by the handful. I think I'll stick it out awhile longer..at least until I start looking moth eaten. Then DH will do the deed and buzz it all off at once. I'm happy to report that all the major SEs are (hopefully) done this round! Now it's just the minor indignations of zits, hems and chapped lips. I go for #2 a week from Friday so I'm going to savor the time off until then. I did treadmill today...slowly but I did it and it felt good to be moving again.

Hi to all our fellow Febs flocking in. Sorry you have to join us but you are in very good and supportive company. Hugs all around!

Praline- you're too cute! I haven't even thought about my ears yet... Other than thinking it would be nice to have some bling in them to help deal with everything;)

What's in everyone's chemo bag? My first treatment had way too many things. And it's funny, but when I even THINK of the snacks I brought, I get nauseous!

My mo told me to go easy on hydrating just prior to chemo. They are now finding that women are having seizures during treatment due to over hydrating. She said to definitely have water, but something with salt and electrolytes. Has anyone else been told that

Good Morning Ladies, Looking good all of you

    Happy

I had the same Breakouts! I was freaking out as I have never had that! WHAT! no one told me, that was not in the symptom book. LOL.. lucky for me, I sell Rodan & fields skincare on the side and right away did our microderm paste on my face 3 times in this week and awww, back to normal.. that was NOT Cool! So, I woke up yesterday and my port area is really sore and hurts, anyone experience this? It is just out of the blue?

Every morning when I wake up, I come here to check on my sisters. You always make me laugh out loud and remind me that I'm not alone... you make it all less scary and give me hope that even on the rough and tough days we have each other for support. I'm so grateful for your morning sunshine ladies!!! You are so freaking hilarious and have the most absolutely adorable personalities.

I love you beautiful strangers!!! Happy hump day!!!

    ❤️❤️

Chemo bag roll call: yeah I was wayyyy overloaded the first time too, but you just don't know what you don't know, right? For round 2 I plan to have my cup full of ice chips (no @#$ mouth sores this time), a crochet project, my zombie adult coloring book with colored pencils, and some sugar free lemon drops, my iPad, and my phone. That's it (unless the Hemms aren't gone...then I might have some Tucks in there too....lol). With the personal TV and vibrating/heat chair, it's like an afternoon the pedicure place! (minus the poison dripping in my veins...bahahahaha)

Welcome to the new February Fabs who have joined us. I think we should have a group motto...perhaps "Huh, nobody told me about this side effect..." Loopy

hey all, wanted to tell you about a very cool knit related item you might be interested in... Knitted Knockers: http://knittedknockers.org. There's a free pattern for the knocker or you can request to have some sent to you. There's also a fund raiser running on EBay right now to help raise funds for mailing expenses:http://www.ebay.com/sch/knittedknockersorg/m.html?...

I have a free knitting pattern for a really nice, lightweight chemo cap :http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/schknit-ha... I'm working on a crochet one so that should be up soon.

my chemo bag has an iPad, charger, candies to suck on, and a water bottle. So except for the charger it's just my purse.

ditto.... The shave fest was not near as positive as I had intended... I started out with scissors and a razor to maturely take control of the sea of hair falling out of my head..... I ended up curled up in bed with my head shaved sick to my stomach and unable to face the world.... There was no sight of Angelina Jolie..... Today was a brighter day.....

    Oh Eliz1973 ((major hugs))

I am right behind you...Sunday is the day. I decided on Charlize Theron from Mad Max. My hubby say, "She looks kind of mean." I reply, "I was going for 'strong'."

    "Oh." He says.

    Well, damn. Lol.

Day 13 post first FEC, Shedding big time, I have an appointment on Saturday for shaving my hair and getting a a wig but I don't think I am going to make it that long. Next treatment March 4th.

I feel back to mormal, but the first 4 days were really hard, day 5 I started to feel a little better, by day 7 I was able to drive and felt ok again

    Eliz- big ((hug)).

Chambo- I'm doing the Charlize Theron thing today!

I've been shedding more than normal and my scalp hurts. And I have warm and slightly burning sensations where it hurts... Anyone else?

My wig is ready, although too uniformly light for me. They can't add low lights until next week. The color is beautiful, but just screams out WIG to me. After they buzz my hair, I'll get a fitting for the wig with little tucks here and there so it fits snug and won't fly off on a windy day!

Ok Mad Max warriors... Let's do this

Eliz- I found this article this morning. The video at the bottom shares 9 women's stories about their hair loss in such a beautiful and positive light.

MLP3, perfect timing! Thank you for posting the link. Today is the day. Handfuls are coming out and I'd rather get rid of it than keep shedding so DH is sheering me this morning. My stomach is jumpy from anticipation but watching that video really helped settle it
