piper- boob #2...? How did you discover it? I'm always wondering if there's something going on with mine? I feel pain time to time but haven't felt anything. When do you go for a mamm or us?

Chambo- beautiful grandkids. Could just eat up that one in the middle!

Fran- my stomach was so bad after the first chemo that I thought I was having a heart attack. Prilosec and tums helped me and getting off of the steroids. Please keep us informed. ((Hugs))

Mypinklife- beautiful children! The blog is a great idea;)

Nola- I drank so much water that I had to make several trips to the bathroom. When I did, I rinsed with biotine every time. My initial mouth sores went away.

Myra- great to hear that you're feeling so well! I am too... Other than this almost bald head, I forget I have cancer! And of course I have chemo #2 tomorrow...

I'm going to ask my mo to adjust the meds tomorrow so I don't get so sick like I did after the first round. The nurse thinks it was the steroids. Hopefully something can be changed up. I'm also trying to decide what to eat before, during and after chemo tomorrow. I ate some of my favorite things(lentil soup) that day and I can't even think about them now without feeling nauseated. I don't want to spoil another favorite of mine!

Fran--how awful!!! Hope they can get it under control at the ER!!!!

Loving everyone's pics of kids, grandkids and loved ones!!!!

Just realized my mom would have been 65 years old today. She died April 18, 1989.

What is the deal with nail polish helping?!?!? Interesting/Fascinating factoid. Maybe with the hair almost gone I need to go for funky nails ;)

When I showered yesterday my hands looked like Sasquatch! Still just excessive thinning no clumps.

The sennakot worked overtime and instead of my usual C I have D today messing up my wanting to nap. Yawnnnn

hausfrau- I haven't had an issue with my nails either. Maybe it's a different chemo cocktail that causes it...? I heard dark lines and white spots.

Fran that sounds terrible. Hope they get that sorted out ASAP we are all sending positive thoughts your way. I was told to get the dark nail polish done before round 4 (which is gonna be Taxotere/Docetaxl for me). Apparently your nails can fall off with that one. Charming (not)! x

well, they are admitting me. CT scan came back fine. I take a Prilosec everyday and drink the calfrate before every meal. These pains are so bad. I love that they say it can't be from Chemo, when I have never had any GI problems before. I will see a GI doc and have a scope done as they said maybe an ulcer in my esophagus. The diludid helps ease a bit of the pain thanks for the prayers my friend

Oh Frances, hoping they figure it out and resolve it quickly, and that pain meds control it until then.

I had astonishing pain from gall bladder (took 5 years for anyone to figure it out.) After they r/o heart attack, they thought is was GERD. Nope. Still have a boatload of Prilosec left over. Once that puppy was out, all was good. Make sure they check gallbladder!

MLP3, Zofran and Protonix are making all the difference this round! I'm taking them at the first twinge of nausea and so far so good.

    Fran - I'm so sorry.

MLP3 it has been there years and was checked. It has just changed and so has the nipple area. The stereotactic and surgical biopsy on that breast were on the far right side. My BS will have a look.

A little rant. So my MO was very surprised I was going in for my second chemo this Thursday. I told my primary nurse beginning of February my hospital nurses said theycouldn't accommodate the request of every two weeks of AC followed by 4 of Taxol. She said it was okay to go every 3 weeks. Apparently not. My MO didn't know this and was adamant that her orders were to be followed for a reason as I need biweekly dose dense to start due to my dx. I didn't throw my primary nurse under the bus but I am angry. I have to have second treatment tomorrow. Also, pharmacy let me know my plan no longer covers my Neopogen which is 245.00. Wish I had known that earlier. My scripts weren't ready either. Good thing I called. Primary told me to pick up but it had to be called in. My nerves are shot. Rant over

I'm sorry Frances! At least you are getting some pain relief and care. Good luck with the testing! ((Hugs))

    Piper- shouldn't they all be on the same page? Glad that you're receiving the treatment that your mo has laid out for you. No worries with the rant... That's what we are here for;

Frances-Good luck at the hospital.  I agree with reflect. Please make sure they check the gallbladder.  I had to have mine removed 10 days after my lumpectomy because the pain was unbea

Frances hope you feel Better soon

Mlp is the Taxol and related drugs (taxetore, etc)that cause the nail damage, AC, and FEC which I just finished, shouldn't damage nails.

Frances- prayers, ((hugs)) and good vibes being sent your way! Keep us up to date.

Piper- hmmm...wondering why they're not on the same page? I would be upset too.

MLP- thanks for the mouth sore tip! It seems to be getting better with the warm salt water rinses, but told my MO nurse anyway...waiting for a call back.

Anyone having nosebleeds on Taxol/Herceptin? Had one last night, then again today. Nasal passages super duper dry.

hello ladies! you have the cutest mini's!!! my fiance and I don't have children and have been on the fence for quite some time. we considered freezing eggs but the whole process became so stressful and daunting we've accepted the fact that it may not be in the cards for us. by best friend lets me borrow his little nugget and I have my adorable little nephew too, when i need some extra sunshine in my life.

sorry to hear about the hiccups a few of your are facing! sending you love all of the time and hoping you feel better soon! i've personally had the WORST taste bud side effects with this round 2. i just try to get through each day as i know the next day will be much better.

nola was it you who asked about the breakouts getting better? they do! my face has cleared up tremendously since my last teenage acne post. i think it lasted about a week and it was tied to my cycle. i also did some extra exfoliation on my face and a charcoal mask to help things along.

holding you all in the light!

MLP and Nolagirl. I felt so confident with my team...until today. Obviously my MO wasn't told of the change. That I don't understand. My primary nurse had a sheepish look on her face. It was all over video conference. My MO said I looked great and didn't expect that. Now I know why. I know we are all different but she did tell me this very well may be hard on me. Good news is my bones in general are strong; no osteoporosis. Bad news, they need to test again after cycle for my spinal compression fracture.

Love it 33triple. Thinking of you...

    Piper, I'm so sorry.

Sounds like the MO's orders were not followed and no one told her. That's awful. She must be pretty pissed off. And the chemo nurses can't "accommodate" the tx schedule you need--What? It's not like you asked for an ocean view and a roll-away cot. Sounds very sloppy. Hope MO straightens them out. You have other things to do than to try to run your tx plan and coordinate your team too.

Can you appeal the insurance decision re Rx? Tell your MO that too.

Rant on. You know we are all here for you. If you need help cranking up the rant you know I have skills. And adjectives. Lots of adjectives.

    ((Hugs))

Piper are you under private health insurance? I think neupogen also has a copay credit card like Neulasta does. It's basically free after a 25$ copay for the neulasta.

Not sure if all the drugs are covered but can't hurt to ask!

Yep Taxotere causes hand/nail issues (that's the cause of my itching hand woes). Icing will help keep nails on, limit neuropathy, and protect your nails. Those frozen mitts are on my hands this Wednesday for sure.

Hope Fran is getting over the tummy blues and others are getting the correct doses and all. That kind of stuff makes me crazy!

Slammed at work today - still trying to get my brain caught up!

    Happy Monday!

    Thank you Nolagirl 😻

Oh reflect you make me smile. I stewed last night for sure. I've been up since 3am and prepping 8 hours early for treatment. By prepping I mean, thinking, TV watching, facial, writing...ha! Grateful I don't have to travel to get treatment in this rush situation. I live in a small community. I will be talking to primary about Neopogen coverage and how my whole timeline has changed. The taxol will now start earlier and my 3rd treatment of AC will now be March 22 from what hospital nurses said in their apologetic call yesterday. Funny though how they put it down to "miscommunication" when I heard their exact words "they may have wanted every two weeks but we can't accommodate that" there is a reason I need this schedule keeps ringing in my ears (from onc) oh well, onward....👍🏻

Hausfrau - I'm so fortunate living in Ontario, Canada that cancer or not, X-rays, MRIs etc. are covered here. My biopsies, nuclear medicine testing, surgery also covered. Being a cancer patient I get all prescriptions covered whilst picc line is in. pharmacy mentioned that neupogen is no longer covered, however. Change of job that doesn't come with health benefits didn't worry us. Now, we will get something more substantial earlier. Regardless, I'm very very fortunate for the care here and I realize that.

LTF what time are you in today? Because of the screw up my normal 9am is pushed to 1130 for pre bloods, weight, taking pre meds for a 1pm start. They have to have the chemo drugs delivered. We definitely will be together. My phone will be on! 😻

So on to AC infusion today. I shall make my notes, pack my bag, and sit and think for hours. Lol.

Wouldn't it be great if we could all be in a special chemo room together? I mean literally. ?

    Hugs all!

    Piper

Nolagirl, I can send you something that will get rid of the acne, let me know. Will clear it right up.

Still in hospital waiting on scope, hopefully soon. I have the nosebleeds, nurse told me to use Vaseline at night and should help. Also use a humidifier.

Piper, that sux. Just another fight that you shouldnt have to deal with.

Alright ladies. Let's do this today!

I'm with you girls... Second AC today and I slept so horribly last night. I went to bed at 8:30 last night in anticipation for a great sleep... Not!! Now that I know what to expect and knowing how sick it made me, I had mild anxiety about it last night.

9:30 blood work, 10:30 mo, 11:30 AC... Joy.

    In your pockets today ladies;)

Thinking about the Tuesday ladies - I'm a Wednesday gal. But I didn't sleep well last night in solidarity for you. lol. Mine was more about enjoying my last day of feeling 100% again for awhile. Blah

Here's to good cocktails in a few months - the kind we get to drink instead of take IV...lol...to celebrate the end of this part of the journey. (But just one because we all know the alcohol and breast cancer stats...lol)
