Micmel - so sorry to hear about Tag. I know exactly how this feels - our 18 year old border collie mix Tucker whom always seemed to defy the odds “crossed the rainbow bridge" just over a week ago. Still feeling heartbroken even though we are comforted that he had a really long and good life. He declined quickly that last week and it's so hard to see... when he couldn't stand and didn't want his favorite chicken and wouldn't drink from his favorite fountain we knew it was time.

Rah - it IS really hard to see them age. I hope yours can hold on for a lot longer too.

Mommyof2 - Hope the adoption goes through and pls keep us posted! If you are in CA I know a great contact.

Spookiesmom - could use some of your cute paw posts right about now

To all the other ladies - good luck with new puppy potentials and pups on furniture. Thinking of all of you at this time. I know I haven't been as constant on the forums this year but I could really use the support of our pup community now

Here is our sweet boy Tucker whom you've all gotten to know in many of my updates. He was the best boy and my constant protector.
    image

He's joined Kit Kat across the rainbow bridge now and she was always his little lieutenant so I hope they are reunited and happy now. Here's Tucker with Kit Kat.
    image

So now our paw family here consists of 13 year old Domino who is the last of the original threesome now and was my ESA during treatment. I don't even want to think about her time - I hope she still has years and years ahead with us, healthy and strong. She is my little spirit animal. And we did adopt little puppy Finley who turns 1 in just a couple days and is the cutest and sweetest. Here they are, helping me work from home.

    image

But missing Tucker now. And Kit Kat who passed over 2 years ago now. Missing them never goes away.

Pebbles so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Tucker. It is obvious from the pics you share that he (and all of your four footeds) lived a wonderful life full of love. It is the hardest decision to let them go, but the most generous thing we can do.

Thank you for the well wishes on my pups, I hope to have them in decent health for a while yet but we never know.

My best to you and ((hugs))

Pebbles, sorry for the loss of Tucker. I have enjoyed your photo postings and know how much he was loved. You are correct that missing them never goes away.

I still miss the dog we lost over 12 years ago. She was such an unusual and special dog whose escapades never failed to make us laugh. Each dog is unique and brings a special new joy so our present dog has brought us her share of smiles and memories as well. ((Hugs))

awwwwww Pebbles, I’m sorry. 💔💔💔 It’s so hard to loose them, we don’t get nearly enough time with them. But he knew he was loved, and always will be. My Aussie will be gone 11 years next week. At least now I can think about him, and the ones before him and smile. You will too.

    Hugs.

We loved Tucker too!!! Oh goodness me. It’s getting to the point to where he can’t stand. If we don’t pick him up. He can’t get up unless he’s on the carpet. Anything forget it. It’s getting close. It kinda scares me. I don’t want to put him down. I’m not ready for him to go!

Today is National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. Hershey, Mercedes, Dolce and Jasmine have left their paw prints on my heart! I don't look at this with tears, but with smiles for all the wonderful memories I have with them🥰🐾🐾💞

    image

We currently have 3 goldens, ages 10, 8 and 7, and while I know that they too will join our others dogs across the bridge, I cherish the days with them and welcome their love (and lots of dog hair🤣)

My daughter's Rottweiler crossed the bridge several weeks ago. I am starting to turn the plush from his beds into a whole litter of stuffed puppies for her to love. Luckily they did not permanently pick up the urine stink from a sick dog. Hesitating on this project, because it is a reminder that I will have my (four-year-old) baby for only a little while.

Yes, Carl will finally father a litter. He never had a chance in this life. I cut out the first one. They are going to be mostly beige, then more and more dark brown as the original beige gets used up. Gotta be careful to get the nap going the right direction on all pieces.

Hi ladies - thank you SOooo much for the condolences and comfort.

Rah2464 - hope yours and our Domino and Finley can live as long as or longer even than Tucker, who really beat the odds getting to 18 years. He was healthy up until that last week.

Betrayal and Spookiesmom - I can just imagine that after 11-12 years, we still miss and think fondly of our pups. They are family after all. I'm glad you can think of yours with a smile. I'm getting there...

Micmel - so sweet thank you, I remember so many times I was posting to you how Tucker was so strong at such an old age. Even though we knew it was coming, we are never ready. Sending love to you and Tag.

GoldensRBest - Oh my, National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is so timely! It is so nice to know that you have the paws you loved that are across the rainbow bridge and rebuilt your paw family too with your current 3. We do still have Domino and Finley in our paw family, but remembering Kit Kat and now Tucker across the rainbow bridge.

MCbaker - congrats on the upcoming litter!

Anyways, thank you all for chiming in so quickly, it meant a lot to me. I plan to be back in the boards a bit more regularly now (pending work). Here's one more pic of the 'original' paw family with my husband and I. Domino (the white one, last survivor of the pack) has pretty much not left my side now - although she is always like that, she's my little spirit animal after all. Lots of happy days with this pack.

Pebbles: what a great family photo. All of your dogs have been so lovely.

GoldensRBest: Lovely portraits of your former pets and current ones. My SIL's mother had a golden and he happily ate her couch while she was out for the day. He was so proud of his handiwork and greeted her with wagging butt and tail in the midst of the debris. Initially she was shocked but then decided she did need a new couch and wouldn't have bought one otherwise. He did outgrow that stage, LOL.

    Pebbles, so sorry about Tucker.

The long search for a new dog may be over. Hubby and I went to “meet and greet” a dog today. She’s a 3 yr. old terrier mix. Think she looks like a Boston Terrier/Boxer mix. Only a 34 lbs. and a super friendly medium-sized dog. They let us walk around with her on a leash and she wasn’t pulling me along, she was walking with us instead. They said they would cat test her if we decided on getting her, even though her foster mom had told them that she had been around cats. Hubby and I have to do some talking but I think he fell in love with her as much as I did.

Looks like Sunday morning will be the morning We are having him creamated and I am getting his ashes back in a paw print container she makes. I can’t stand to see him anymore like this. It’s time. His eating is erratic he falls every second and he can’t hold his own weight anymore to potty. So it’s the end. Of owning one of the best dogs I’ve ever known. Or no less had the pleasure of owning Ugh’. Soooooo hard 😢
