Hang in there Kandy. The more info you give us on your treatment history, the more context we have to help.

Kandy, I am sending hugs your way and lifting you up in prayer. I hope the tratment plan that your MO and you agree upon next is the magic bullet for you. I agree with BadAtNames that a liver biopsy and testing might be a good step to take. Do you know how much longer you will be in the hospital?

    Hugs from, Lynne

Kandy, I agree , now seems a good time to get those liver tumors biopsy. Ibrance and letrozole have worked for almost 2 years now for me. I wish that for you!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to you Kandy. I hope you and the docs can find something you're comfortable using and that knocks those cancer cells into next week.

Hugs to you Kandy and lifting you in my prayers. I'm also going downhill and treatments fail me. MO is arranging for a liver biopsy - unless I've missed it somewhere - is that in the cards for you?

Hello ladies, another day is almost gone laying here at the hospital. I'm doing so much better than I was. They discontinued my IV antibiotics and started me on antibiotic pills. As long as I don't spike a fever, I get to escape here tomorrow. So far so good with that. I hope all of you have had a wonderful day. Friday night is family night at home. My DD2 that has down's was all upset that we weren't going to have it tonight. So my DH packed up popcorn, drinks, chocolate, and snacks and they came on to the hospital. We went into the family room and still had family night. We played cards and ate too much junk. DD2 was thrilled, she said it was a perfect night, lol. Take that cancer, you won't take my family night away. Praying for each of you. Enjoy the moment.

Almost forgot, Linda- I have an appointment with MO on Tuesday. The biopsy of the liver is definitely going to be discussed. I want that done. He has been on vacation this week so I have no idea what he is thinking.

Kandy, I am happy to hear that you are doing better. It must have been wonderful to have family night even though you were in the hospital. Your husband was so sweet to pack everything up and bring it to you. I can picture a big smile on your daughter's face. I hope you get good news today and can pack up and go home.

    Hugs and prayers, Lynne

I notice no chemo on your list of treatments? I am no doctor but I would have thought your oncologist would have recommended some strong chemo before things got out of control. The usual A/C followed by taxol. Xeloda has worked for my wife who's ER/PR+Her2- as her cancer turned triple negative. Xeloda is slow but effective.

This whole breast cancer business takes it's toll on us husbands as well. I've been a nervous wreck of late, especially when we get the call on the results of the latest PET scan.

Welcome Mike and of course it takes it toll on the caregivers. My husband tries to remain stoic and strong and denies he is stressed out but we have been married 30 years so I know way better.

Kandy, you are so awesome, to go ahead with family night. That is just so cute. I am so glad you could get sprung today! Thinking of you!

Ladies, I have made it back home. So thankful. I have tried to update my profile now. Hope that helps. Mike, as you can see I started chemo earlier this year. It has not done any good. Very tired today. Enjoy the moment and praying for everyone.

Kandy, I am doing the happy dance for you. Woohoo for getting home. Take it easy. It takes a while to fully recover from sepsis. That tired feeling is normal. Let everyone pamper you.

Welcome home, Kandy! I know you will be happy to sleep in your own bed and really get some rest. Hospital stays are exhausting!

What a relief that you are back home again! Rest up, drink fluids with electrolytes (coconut water is great!) and treat yourself gently!

When you see your doctor and discuss a liver biopsy, please also ask them to test for Androgen Receptivity (similar concept to ER) because there are several promising clinical trials targeting AR in much the same way that current hormonal therapy targets ER.

So glad you are feeling a little better!

Thanks Bestbird, I am going tomorrow. I will ask for that. My bone mets are stable but my liver is progressing, makes me think something is different between the two.

Yay Kandy!  so glad you are home.  What a wonderful husband you have.  I'm sure you all felt better being together even if you were in the hospital.  Seeing your daughter must have lifted your spirits too!

Good luck at the doctor tomorrow!!!!

Yes, Kandy...could be a new mutation. This happens all the time according to the drs at Stanford. I went to one of their conferences last November and attended a seminar on mutations. Organ mets tend to mutate faster than bone mets in some people.
