@shanagirl I am glad to hear from you as well. We are in line for more rain after a thunderstorm, really want to see winds change direction here. The intense heat has abated but still have the yucky smoke. Decided if it continues to be an issue, will go back to mask wearing like back in the COVID years, still have containers full of masks.
I was getting supper ready and all of a sudden got a stomach pain shoot through me, felt like I was going to vomit. Not sure if is a stomach bug. Took some zofran, 8mg. Nothing happened since, did eat an english muffin with butter. Seems OK now, who knows what triggered it so not over worrying. I do remember having a stomach ache last night, still have a bit of an ache now. Nothing too bad and no fever. Bland foods til I feel better.

Saying hello to all the sweet ladies here. That wish for cooler weather came with the storm and then forgot to stay cool. Our feels like temp. today was 109, real temp. 98. I just can't go outside. When it's this hot I become weak and confused. DH puts an ice pack on my neck to help and I sit under the ceiling fan. We have the a.c. at 73 and the unit has to keep running. We have cancelled all plans and any spontaneous plans to go out and about. My legs are weak from both MS and the fracture (stable or so they say) in Lumbar area. I understand how you all feel wherever you are located nature is really messing with us.
I now have 5 types of water feeders out front. I forgot the rabbits can't climb like those crazy squirrels. I remedied this with a bowl of water just on the edge of the wooded lot next door. I also put sunflower seeds in a bowl, again at the lot line. They don't enjoy this heat, either. 4 old crows came to the partioned water bowl. They surprised me having shown courtesy to each other whilst drinking. We keep a hose handy. Heavy storm arrived tonight, so my water bill gets a break. Not a good forecast is expected tomorrow when it's 80 degrees at almost 11 p.m. tonight.
The Phillies played today and won. The league moved up the game again due to weather conditions. The other day it was due to the smoke, which the announcer mentioned became heavier as day leads to night. I'm shocked we are experiencing some, albeit minor, hazy conditions. This too shall pass.
In pockets for all your needs and best wishes that meds are knocking the daylights out of the enemy.

@irishlove We are not hot right now and it is cool but no way to enjoy since air quality is still poor from wildfires. I know there are some in US but most smoke coming from Northern Ontario. We have crews, water bombers and others working their way out there but problem is, the forest up there is super dense and not all of it even has roads and we are dealing a province which is 55% bigger than Texas. I hope that winds move away from the north, not sure if east, west would be as effective as south. Other than that, a good dumping of rain in the North may be of help in addition to all we are doing.
Got some sort of stomach bug, finally started throwing up. The stomach pain itself is minor, cannot say I am enjoying it but take antinausea is just stalling what needs to happen which is throwing up. If I have a bug of some sort, get rid of it that way. Got a bucket out here in living room, clearing out every few minutes. Asked DB if he can get me some gingerale later on. Doing best not to cry about this, figure I just need to get rid of whatever it is.
Laundry, floors etc will be forthcoming as well.
I do hope all have a good day, in pockets for all as well.

@mara51506 Ugh sorry you're dealing with a stomach bug, fingers crossed it's a 24 hr bug. Hope the ginger ale helps you feel a bit better. Yes those fires are a huge task to handle and I hope it clears this week, our air quality is much better here today. Feel better❤️
@shanagirl It's great to see ya, glad to hear you're doing ok.😊
@threetree Great news, may Xeloda continue to keep things under control🤞
@irishlove Stay cool they heat has been brutal this summer. Go Phil's, we really enjoyed watching the homerun derby and the All Star game and festivities. I thought they did a fabulous job representing Philly!
Thinking of many and hoping your struggles are minimal today💕

DB brought SIL over to drop off gingerale and she brought cleaner and some Pepto bismol tablets. Have not vomited since this morning but cramps are still a feature. Going to try have an english muffin, just butter, take usual digestive enzyme and a loperimide since it slows down digestion. Have not had the BIG D thankfully. If all goes well, will eat more normal tomorrow though keeping small amounts of anything I have. Not willing to take anymore zofran, I feel worse after it is taken being so drowsy.

Hi Girls. Happy Sunday🥰Just checking in here today to see how everyone is doing. I’ve been hybernating all week becaouse here at the Jersey shore the air is thick with smoke and bad smell from the wildfires in Canada blowing in. I’t’s been way too hot in th “feels like” 106 & higher. The air conditioning is fine for me right now now. I don’t have any desirei to be out & about in my yard or in the garden. especially after the pneumonia recovering.
@irishlove I wanted to get out and put some water and seed for the birdies in this heat and smoke air, but decideded not too. You are so good how you worry about the critters in your area. I hope you are feeling well. I am just so tired all the time., can’t wait for that cooler air so I can go outside and sit on the front porch or take a small walk with the dogs…Poor Oliver it’s been a tough month for him with all the fireworks and recent thunder storms. I have anti anxiety pills from he vet for him but a few times I didn’t medicate him in time. So he just sits next to me shivering in fear and panting. My son gave him his Trazodone and Gabapentin pills from the Vet tonight at dinnertime in case all the fireworks go off again tonight. Lot’s of kids in the neighborhood firing them off along with the Seaside Heights boardwalk fireworks across the Barnegat bay here.
@mara51506 I do hope you are feeling better this evening with that stomach bug., not fun. I’m glad DB & SIL came by for you.🩵
@cookie54 , Hey there Jersey🥰Thinking of you. Stay safe and stainside while the wildfire smoke particles are floating airborne everywhere. I’ve been thinking of you.
@threetree I’me hoping today sis a good day for you.🌷

I am still getting sick, not a whole lot though. Cramps are still on the mild side but between my tummy troubles is hunger hanging on too believe it or not. Will make a plain buttered english muffin, cannot see being able to eat it dry. I am also going to take both loperimide and a couple 4mg ondansetron with a digestive enzyme. I did not run into trouble this time so took couple more ondansetron and will head off to bed.

Well, lost my whole post. Let's do this again. Hi everyone. Hope the heat is letting up and the smoke, too. I'm with Shanagirl, staying inside. I think it's been 10 days and I'm fine with that. Have to go out tomorrow for blood test. Not fine with that. Mara, I sure hope you 'have turned the corner on your illness. Both DH and I have the crud, nausea and coughing hard, but I feel better. He does not, so I am pushing him to go to Urgent Care tomorrow. His cough is awfully concerning.
I lost this post three times now, don't know why, so I'm going to keep it short. In pockets for all your needs.

@irishlove Gradually improving. Eating as normal today, really tired of either no food or bland food. Just using smaller amounts of each ingredient to add to a meal. Hoping not to take more zofran but will if need be. I do hope your DH improves soon.
I am finishing up laundry that sat around from yesterday, only spin cycle left. Once done with that, cat left a present for me to take care of. Was right before bed so put towels over and went to bed, once washer emptied can gather up the towels and toss into the washer. I think at times, Tiggers stomach does better with wet food. I use a fork to mash it down, pate is the only kind he likes. Ava is flexible, she will eat the bits in gravy and eat it all, when he was given that he licked the gravy and left the bits.
I am planning to have rice, beans, lentils and beefless ground with a small handful of shredded cheese. No chopping, just mashing the black beans first, put all ingredients in bowl and microwave it. the 1/6th little measure I use is more than enough. Later I can see a burrito in my future. Post if good or super different. Staying away from fast food, not convinced one of thos Mcdonald's meals I had couple days ago did not agree with me.
EDIT My first meal turned out to contain beans and lentils, 1/3 cup each and I had a burrito as the main part of the meal. Used a small amount of ranch and small amount of caesar dressings and cheddar seasoning with some manwich seasoning. Had a granola bar, the peanut butter variety. No issues with my belly, if anything the cramping pain went away which is good.
I do hope all have a good day. If anyone here is in Northern Ontario or still getting smoke, wear masks when out and stay safe. Same routine as COVID. For us in Ontario, Australia and New Zealand are going to help with the fires and we appreciate it. I also see hundreds of fires in the states, again hope everyone is safe from fire and the inevitable smoke. I am in everyone's pockets.

@mara51506 Sorry yo are still feeling like crap and nauseous and cramps. I had that about two weeks ago. It also made me feel very weak and achy in my joints and no strength. I thought i was coming down with something but all it was had been the nausea, cramps and extremely weak and sleepy. My DH said i was still suffering the after effects of the Pneumonia and lingering cough . But I had also gone for my Fasoldex and Xgeva shots. So maybe just everything together was causing this. But all I could eat was Chicken broth and and Minute rice in it. And the warm “College Inn” canned or boxed broth was very soothing and comforting and I added some left over Minute Rice and it was substantial enough to take any hunger away. But I did sleep a lot too. I just don’t know why I have been so tired and sleepy these weeks since getting out of the Hospital Pneumonia thing. I’ve also been actually feeling depressed lately too because I want to do more but not energetic nor motivated. The stairs exhaust me. But I’m up and down several times a day.I feel so guilty because my Sweet husband is doing everything. He’s out now food shopping.🛒. I,’m going to make a quick easy chicken dish for dinner after he gets home. It’s a great recipe I got on Facebook..
@irishlove Good idea to stay inside. I’m fine with that myself too. The only time we went out was last weekend which was an ordeal for me with the way I was feeling but it was something we had to do. DH’s Aunt passed away and we are very close to her family….cousins and children grown and we wanted to be there because his Aunt was like a mother to us both over the years. It was the trip up to North Jersey for the funeral n& the heat and the walking took a toll on me that weekend so we just rested the next few days…it’s been so dry with this heat wave and perfect fire weather for forest areas, spreading quickly… not good… Well DH just got home so I’ll say good night to you all now. Stay rested and feel better. Take care🌷🩵

@mara51506 So sorry you are not well. I'm praying you feel better soon so you can get back up to your normal activities. Praying no one else on this site gets ill with this latest germ.
@shanagirl I remember when I had pneumonitis. Sorry to say it took a couple of months before I felt like I was totally recovered. I spent five days in the hospital first. It was Christmas and just before we moved from CA to CO and I felt so hopeless watching everyone else pack up and then unpack our things for the move. My sweet husband has to do most things right now because of my broken leg although I can stand and do some things for a short time as long as I remember not to put weight on my leg. I am thankful the housekeeper comes today which helps with the heavy cleaning although I am unable to prep the house for her. It makes us put away some things that end up nesting on the counters instead of being put away… I have chemo tomorrow which hopefully won't be too complicated. I know you have been going through a lot of medical procedures, etc., and that alone wears you out.
@irishlove How are you and your DH feeling? Is his cough improving? I rarely leave the house except for medical appointments, and even order my groceries delivered now. Such a sad life! We have some smoke here in CO but it is not near what you are experiencing. I have an air purifier and humidifier going near where I sit all day. It is very dry in CO. The humidifier has helped my chronic cough so that is an unintentional benefit! Of course, I cough again once I go outside.
I need to try to fix some lunch before the housekeeper comes. Maybe just an egg sandwich and some raw cauliflower.
Stay safe. Blessings…

I am feeling better. Ate normally yesterday and no real issues. Back to beans, lentils and rice with whatever else I add to it.
Thinking of picking up some new yogurt, I forgot about what I had and it is 2 months old. Not really willing to take a chance what I have. It does not smell bad but still, need to be cautious.
EDIT put in an order, getting 8 wee yogurts, good protein in each, more cheese and burritos and a 3 pack of the crest 3D toothpaste. I like it as a first brush then use some of my colgate sensitivity pro. Crest is better at stain removal but can leave me sensitive. Doubling up gives the best of whitening and avoiding tooth sensitivity. More than I like to spend but will not likely need to shop rest of this week or the next. Did not get any duplicates save for the cheese and burritos.
Planning an easy breakfast meal, mix of beans and lentils together along with one of my thousands of burritos. May also throw in some diced peppers and diced hashbrowns, I will have to see. post as usual if good or change mind.
EDIT Meal one, took a frozen lasagna and put on top of beans, diced hashbrowns and frozen peppers. Heated 7 mins since microwave is low watt to make sure everything gets done, once out, just use some queso, mayo and sour cream. Small amounts of each, still watching fats. Probably season with more cheddar popcorn seasoning, don't just need to use with popcorn. I truthfully did not enjoy all the extra crap I added. No more of the frozen pastas and no more black beans. Lentils only, can use those with meat pies or eggs I make on the mini griddle since they are easy, Lentils and rice with the occasional chia seed addition. Hashbrowns are find, will be donating my beans and other stuff that I do not like. No longer buying the beans.
Laundry is on the go as well, almost out of the cloths I use and I have a lot of them. Floors have also been addressed in bits and pieces as well thanks to couple of spills that I accidentally did. I really like the swiffer stuff if I am being honest. My floors are better kept up and the sweeper goes so flat that if need be, I can get under the fridge even. I am also liking the idea of attaching sock mops to my swiffer duster, picks up more and is reusable.
I do hope everyone has a good day, for those not feeling well, or even if you are feeling good, I am in everyone's pockets. In my own pockets as well due to risk of severe thunderstorms coming.
