Distracted myself by baking pound cake for Easte...it's an old Betty Crocker recipe. I included it. Just mix everything together in a bowl (no alternating wet and dry) and bake in buttered, floured loaf pan for 65 to 70 mins at 350. Even tho my hand mixer doesn't work, it still turned out ok, and the house smells great.

LIta,
So sorry to hear about your friend. I will keep her in my prayers too. You never cease to amaze me - still cooking and baking away - you've been doing more than I do on a good day! The bread looks delicious! Neat eggs too - I love the sheen on them.
Jen - what a nice picture of you and your son!
Love and hugs to all,
Amy

Lita, those are the most beautiful easter eggs I have ever seen. I didn't know it was possible to dye them with a shimmery sheen. You are inspiring in how much you do.

JFL, the eggs were dyed in regular egg dye, then we painted the gold glaze on some with a brush and others with a small sponge. Took a long time for them to dry, tho.

Lita, you are a Rockstar!! Beautifully decorated eggs, cooking, baking, traveling - you continue to both inspire and encourage us all by living life to the fullest!
Also, I wanted to agree with your note about the shortage of saline bags. We continue to experience this at our cancer center. I've heard June is the next date it will get better, but that date keeps moving farther into 2018. Once again, I missed my saline bag at chemo today. I always think I do better with more fluids!

Jen - your pics are beautiful! Love the one of you and your sweet son. Just precious!

Southern...I seem to have way more SEs without saline, no matter how much I hydrate the day b4, day of and day after.
Birds are trying to pilfer the woody twigs from my new spring wreath for their nest. Kinda frustrating for them because they are glued to the wreath form....but they are very cute. We have a No Amer bird book, so dd and I have to figure out what they are. Not swallows, too small, and too big for finches. One flew into the maple tree in front of the house, and has a little bit of yellow on its neck.

I love that photo Lita. Birds are ever industrious

Lita,
The samething was happening at my front door! I thought the birds were just pulling my winter wreath apart. Nope! They were building a nest! Now my winter wreath will be up for a few more weeks!

I'll have to keep an eye on the wreath....they very well could be building their nest in there.
We had swallows build a mud nest over our front door in the eaves several years ago, but the damn scrub jays ate the baby birds, and. The swallows have never come back...guess they sought a more secluded, hidden location.

We have some bossy Blue Jays around our bird feeder. I had better keep an eye on them! The feeder is in the back and the nest is on the front door. Here's my solution to keep people from going to the front door
The momma is there you can barely see her! It is driving me crazy that the wreath isn't centered in the door anymore! Lol

Same with mine, it's not round anymore.
