Oh, Lita, so nice to see you standing in one of my favorite places on earth. I went to grad school at UCSB and we used to drive to JTree to go climbing- twenty years ago! Enjoy the desert's healing powers.0

Lita~you go girl! I am loving that scenery, thank you for sharing your strength. I have to say, I am quite impressed by the way you are. I read your struggles and no matter what, there you are letting Nothing keep you down, you put me to shame. I am in awe of the woman you are. You look wonderful. We adore you. Hugs and love ~M~

Lita, you look so beautiful in your hat. When I look at you, I can’t get my head around what you are dealing with.
I will die of heart failure from chemo. So much easier than what you are dealing with. I should be on the transplant list. Thanks to cancer, I’m not eligible. They want me to get an LVAD. I told them to shove it up their asses.
Cancer sucks

Lita, so great to see your lovely face and that smile! Glad you enjoyed the desert - don't those cacti look just like prickly teddy bears?

Lita,
What a joy to see you at Joshua Tree, a magical place I discovered years ago and long to revisit.
Spring is doing its thing here in the DC area. The daffodils are blooming. So is our little cherry tree. We lost four fir trees in a wind storm a few weeks ago. Had to spend $$$$ to take them down.
Happy that you're bopping around your beautiful state,
Tina

There's still a saline bag shortage thanks to the hurricanes, ladies. So when you have your weekly chemo infusions, you won't get a saline drip acompanying your tx. All they can do is flush the line at the beginning and the end.
Gemzar stings going in, but fortunately mine is only a 30 min drip. Vein is sore for hrs afterwards tho. Be sure to really hydrate after for a couple of days to flush the toxic chemo.
Not having the saline means you'll be in for tougher se's: diarrhea, upset stomach, dizziness, etc. Eat light accordingly and have Imodium on hand.
This is where I'm at tonight. Actually didn't think they'd do the infusion today because my platelets were still a little low, but all the other #'s were fine and MO said I already had to miss last week and she didn't want me to miss another week.
Next PET is due in April, so we'll see where I'm at then. Not too worried about it. It will be what it will be. After brain mets progression, i didn't expect to be here past Christmas, so I'm very grateful for the time I've had.
Planning a trip to Yosemite in June. That's 3 mos from now. Hope I'm still here, but it's getting harder to walk, getting dizzier because of brain mets, and as of a couple of weeks ago, my brain locks up sometimes when I try to talk. Very disconcerting. It's the natural progression of the disease.
I remain in God's hands, and I'm upping the CBD'S.

I love that you are planning a trip to Yosemite. One of the few western parks I haven’t seen so I look forward to your photos. Sorry this saline shortage means more side effects for you and so many others. Time to call some members of Congress and raise the roof. I wonder if that would help. I’ll give it a try.
Take care Lita. Sending love and hugs. Mair

Lita, the chemo nurses at my infusion center use the saline from the flush syringes to add saline to the saline bags sometimes. You might check to see if they can do this for you.

Lita, I had saline bag flushes yesterday at treatment. Nurse mentioned she guessed the shortage was over

Lita, Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places. It feels very spiritual to me. One of my other fave places is Yosemite. I’m happy to see you living every moment of your life. You are an inspiration.
