Annbee— enjoy your spring break!! Summer sounds like a great time to finish your exchange surgery.

Tomorrow is my mammogram on non-BC side. Never really worried about mammograms before after having so many with issues but after last year’s, have to admit there is a bit of anxiety about tomorrow’s scan even though I expect it to be fine

Thanks dodgergirl! I can understand the anxiety, I won’t have mammograms anymore but any scan brings on anxiety. It will turn out fine. Just like my BS said about the rib pain that it is too close to finishing all the heavy treatments for anything to be there plus all the monitoring. You got this. Let us know how it goes.

Dodgersgirl- you got this! It is unnerving now tho isn’t it. Hoping for clean and clear results and no worries.

Annbee- glad your PS visit went well. Enjoy your spring break. I’m looking forward to summer when I can go to the beach again. Or maybe it will be mountains this year. Just getting away will be good.

still waiting on mammo results from Wednesday.

Today had a CT scan to see why I am in so much pain from hysterectomy AND had an ultrasound on two lumps I just found near mastectomy scar. Sigh. Doctor said he thinks there is a good chance one of the lumps will turn out to be a cyst or fat necrosis but he can’t see the 2nd one well enough to be able to say that based on U/S images SO I am scheduled for biopsies on mastectomy side next week. Tomorrow is my 1 year mark from diagnosis. I sure don’t want to start this all over again for 2018. Sigh. Hanging onto the knowledge that it really could be nothing to worry about

Oh, DodgersGirl that is dreadful. I'm sending you extra special prayers and wishes that everything will be "fine and benign." You are amazing and I feel certain that this is just an annoying "bump in the road" you will easily sail through. Be good to yourself this weekend my friend.

Georgia1– thank you!! So far thru all of this, I haven’t really gotten upset, just kept moving forward. Tonight, I wondered when enough is enough. Sigh.

Just checked my patient portal... my mammo from Wednesday on remaining breast shows no signs of malignancy!!!!

Glad some good news in all this. I'm wishing for fine and benign for you as well. Ugh -- I know you're sick and tired of all of this!

Dodgersgirl - great news on the mammo. Hang in there on the biopsy. When I mentioned the rib pain to my BS he said that I had strong chemo and radiation so it shouldn’t be mets this quick. I would think this would apply to you. I know nothing guaranteed till biopsy but I think the odds are very good in your favor.

No I have not had my X-ray/bone scan yet. Waiting for them to call. If I really thought it was something I would be pounding their door down.

    Hi Dodgersgirl,

What wonderful news I hope you get more good mamo report cards from now on. Wishing you all the best down this what seems like a never ending road.

I hope you and everyone have a good weekend.

    Hugs,

    Sara

Glad the mammo was clean! Praying for the same on the biopsies. It is disheartening to hear you have so much pain from the hysterectomy. Hopefully, they will fix that soon.

Happy Saturday for me!! I saw my pathology report from my hystoscopy and D&C online and it indicated NO MALIGNANCY. I don't go back to the gyn until the 20th but I feel like a weight has been lifted. That's one thing I do not need to worry about for now.

    Hi Everyone,

So glad to hear that so many of you have been getting clean bills of health with all the test results. I hope it continues! I am looking forward to seeing my BS and MO next month it will be nice to talk to them about everything breast related. Yesterday I went out to my first work social event since my MX surgery. I was looking forward to feeling like a "normal" person again, but the conversation quickly turned to "How are you doing with the side effects" One co-worker was very interested in how Tamoxifen was going. I really didn't want to talk about it because my side effects were acting up a lot at that time. I just said I have SE everyday and I am learning how to live with them. Then people started asking more questions. It is so hard to explain BC treatment to people who have not gone through the journey we are on. I was so happy when the party was over and I could go home.

Thank you all for listening it helps me feel better knowing I can come here and get all my feeling out, and you all understand what I am going through.

I hope you all have a good week.

    Hugs to All,

    Sara

Sara, I hate going out sometimes. People mean well but I live it every day. Can I take a break and not talk about it when I’m out? I totally understand just wanting to go back home.

Had 2 biopsies yesterday on 2 lumps along mastectomy scar. Dr put in two clip markers, too.

GP’s nurse called just now —- both lumps are BENIGN!!!

Dodgergirl, I was thinking of you today and wondering how everything went. That is the best news!! So happy for you.

Hope everyone is doing well. I’m excited to be taking a small camping trip this week. We leave Sunday. Friday, I will finally have my X-ray and bone scan. Long story and a lot of back and forth with the MO’s office. Sometimes I am starting to wonder that because you are out of active treatment you get pushed to the bottom, so to speak. My orders for the X-ray and bone scan were given on Feb 28. The scheduler told me that the doctor said ‘asap to rule out mets.’ If I didn’t keep calling I would still be waiting.

Annbee—. Totally agree that we have to make sure doctors follow up as they tell us they will. Please let us know how your x-ray and bone scan goes.

    Also have a great vacation!!!

My refrigerator died last weekend. DH and DD searched for new fridge, face-timing me from the stores. We bought one but couldn't schedule to install until a plumber could disconnect old unit, add new stainless line for ice maker, and add shut off valve behind refrigerator so not knowing when a plumber could get here, we set up delivery for tomorrow. Plumber was here Monday (cam same day I called ). My garbage disposal died right after fridge so after $1000 plumbing bill, I am ready for a new fridge tomorrow. Been without a fridge for so many days at this point. Now DH say she we should replace range, too, so started looking online at ranges. We replaced dishwasher, microwave, and trash compactor last year so it's like getting a new kitchen without new countertops, floors, or cabi

Oh DodgersGirl I am so happy for you! What a relief.

And in the good news department, I had my first, six-month mammogram last week and everything looks good. Have scheduled my first surgical follow-up April 12 but so far so good. Whew.

And Sara, I feel you. I told very few people about my BC for just that reason. It seems easy to deflect questions with "I'm fine, what's going on with you?" but honestly it gets old if people won't take the hint. Here's hoping that over time the social events get more fun for all of us.

And on that note, TGIF and happy weekend, warriors! Let's go have a great time.

Sometimes I wish I had not shared so much about my cancer at work. I know everyone cares and supports me but I would like a day or two that I am not reminded of it.

DodgersGirl good to hear about the good news! You certainly have been jerked around a bit lately. Glad you can breathe a little easier with the benign news.

When I went for my last infusion, the OC was nudging around under my left arm and she scared the crap out of me. She was pressing and pressing and saying "Has this always been there? It feels like a very enlarged lymph node which would be strange since you are in the middle of chemo. Let's get an ultra sound" Yikes. So I had the ultra sound and it is a fluid filled cyst/seroma. the tech had no qualms about it and labeled it benign. I did have swelling after my November surgery--like I was holding an egg in my armpit--but it gradually went down. Was told it sometimes takes a little time for the body to absorb the fluid from seromas. I think I may have aggravated the area the day before my appointment by shoveling some very heavy snow. Just another OMG! moment.

Lego is the uterus lining concern from Tamoxifen? I stopped taking that while I finish up my chemo (last one at the end of this month) but will pick it back up again a few weeks after that. I will also be continuing the Herceptin and Perjeta for the remainder of the year. I haven't focused on gyn stuff through this and feel I need to get up to speed on what I should be looking for or doing test-wise.

Princess Butterfly I tolerated Adryamicin fairly well. Was nervous with all the horror stories, but was lucky and it was manageable for me. Drink lots of fluids and flush that stuff.

I agree about the workplace info sharing. It's a fine line. All in all, I'm an open book and do not hide my situation. Some know, some don't. My manager has said I'm doing so well she sometimes forgets - if it wasn't for this pixie hairstyle!
