Nat has a drippy nose as well. They said it is due to loosing the nose hairs. Her nose had a tad bit of blood due to dry air and wiping it a lot. No more blood for now.

PTCgal- I have experienced a bloody nose discharge often since undergoing Cytoxan/taxotere. It is a mildly annoying se. I have used a humidifier to gain some relief. It is one se I probably should have mentioned to the doctor.

UpstateNYer, I feel pretty good today. Thanks for asking

BAMR, I can't taste or feel the pepper. The only thing I taste is what I believe to be garlic. It works well for me. Good luck!

this is all for fun, please take no offense...On another forum a person started using the 'you might be a redneck jokes" to "you might have had chemo" ..

    ENJOY!!

My favorite ... if you have a rocket snot running out your nose while your face to face talking to someone, you might have had chemo" 😂🤣😂🤣😂😏

If navigating an escalator seems like an Extreme Sport you might have had chemo!

If you can't trust a fart you might have had chemo

If you have to shave your fake boob, you might have had breast cancer..(she took fat from belly for new boob)

If you ask Santa to bring you eyebrows for Christmas, you might've had chemo.

If you cannot form your thoughts into a sentence as well as your 4 year old , you might have had chemo

If your head is bald but you're still shaving your legs, you might have had chemo.

If grocery shopping has become an Olympic sport requiring a full day of recovery, you might've had chemo.

If you open your mouth to say something and completely lose the words you might have had chemo.

If you forget what you're doing WHILE you're doing it, you might've had chemo. I can't tell you how many times I've been writing something and forgot what I was writing WHILE I was writing it!!

"If you run out of breath folding the laundry, you might have had chemo."

Ps. For runny nose, small dab aquaphor or neosporin just inside nose.. I do neosporin anytime I leave my house, kinda like wearing a mask I guess.

    Lol, hilarious!

    I have one to add...

If it takes you an hour to recuperate after your shower, you might have had chemo.

neeli-wishing and praying for minimal se's for you. Eating smaller bland meals helped me through it. Also, hydrate a lot. Warm hugs.

G1973, atta girl!!! That is awesome. Shrinkage is a great thing. I have been praying for all of you from this mountaintop and specifically for shrinkage for you. Wonderful. We have one more AC then on to taxol and surgeries as well. Nat is having the normal bone pain from neulasta and a little nausea but all doable!! She is getting to those days where we have to hide for 4 days while her WBC count comes back. Praying for no more emergency issues!!! Hang tough everyone!!

hi Happyanyway- doing good today, thanks. Ran several errands this morning, did laundry, vacuumed the house and made dinner. We are having a new sofa delivered tomorrow. How are you today?

Jrom- hope Nat's bone pain and nausea subside soon and no other issues arise this time for her.

Keeping everyone in my prayers. :)

My scalp is bristly. I run my hands over it continually when I'm sitting at the computer. It's fascinating to me how it feels. :) And it's more bristly now than it was a week or so ago. Also I have a 5 o'clock shadow brewing. I think my hair is growing!! Will it all come out again? Or is it actually beginning it's slow growth back already?

My last AC is next Friday. Hallelujah! I have a reunion with grade school class mates the first weekend of August. If I already had a half inch of hair, I probably wouldn't bother with hats and scarves. That would be glorious.

What's for dinner tonight? Homemade pizza here. I'm making the crust from scratch, though I had to have Jim finish the kneading for me. I'm just a bit too wimpy.

Hi MountainMia! My hair is the same as yours. I actually like the way it feels and find myself rubbing it, too.

Rock that beautiful head of yours!

My awesome sister treated me to a steak and sweet potato!

My visit went well today. My counts are climbing closer to normal. Next week will be Taxol only. I will have the 12th off. The 19th will be Taxol and carbo. I'm thinking of living on the wild side and skipping the Zofran today. The things that I find risky these days. Good grief. Lol

Alicesneed, how are you? You've been on my mind.

Happyanyway so glad to hear all went well today!!! And a steak to boot!! Nat and I are excited to hear your numbers are coming up!!! We are anxious to get to taxol as we’ve heard it is not nearly as hard as the AC. Nat’s #’s have been too low, thus the 20% reduction this last time. One more AC for us in 10 days. Why are you not doing anything on the 12th? Mountainmia congrats on next Friday. We r 3 days behind you. I have my 40th high school reunion in July but will probably pass due to our situation. We are doing salmon and bland veggies as we r still on the bland diverticulitis diet until AC is over. Nat had to start another antibiotic for 7 days as a precaution. We are tired of all the drugs!! But better than another ER visit. Nat feels pretty dang good today. We did a 30 min walk.Praying for everyone ‘s continued victory journey!

Jrominger, I'm glad that you were able to spend time with your family, I believe yesterday. I feel for Nat, low counts, additional meds and having to avoid public places as a precaution are no fun.

Since my MO is adding carboplatin, he's adding a week off. I'll be given Neulasta on the carboplatin days. Boo, hiss. I really want to get back to the gym. He went over my new treatment plan in great detail, but I forgot my notebook. My memory is shot. I'll ask my sister if she remembers the plan. I'll let you know if she does.

You may want to follow the Taxol thread, too, since Nat is getting close. I joined that thread as well.

Prayers right back to you and Nat! Thank you.

MountainMia, my sister is amazing! We have a great time together. The stories I could tell... but won't! 😉

Alright, jrominger, the 5th will be my third infusion of Taxol. The 12th will be my week off. The 19th will be my Taxol and carbo. So, for the rest of my treatments, I will have three weekly Taxol, one week off, then Taxol and carbo, repeat. This will extend my chemo by a month.

Happyanyway, ok I have your plan down. The neulasta is so important!! But it's weird how it makes Nat's skull, shoulder blades, ribs and muscles sore. We know that is the marrow making WBC's etc. So that is a good SE!! We r really hoping Taxol will be easier on Nat!! Everyone says it should be. Our MO said carboplatin wasn't something that would help in Nat's case. We r hoping her tumor will continue to shrink as it has so far!!! Happyanyway how would you say you feel on just taxol vs AC?? Nat hates not going to the gym. She rides her mtn bike on a stationary rack and tries to walk 30 to 40 min each day when she can.It really seems to help with nausea and acid reflux. Also numerous small meals every day. Her first antibiotic seemed to be ok today. 6 more to go 😩. Blessings to everyone!!

The Neulasta and Neupogen have been good to me. I'm just disappointed that I will need Neulasta with carboplatin. I thought the days of low WBC were over for me. I am nervous about carboplatin now. I trust my MO, though.

Taxol has been a walk in the park for me compared to AC. I didn't even take Zofran today.

My only complaint with Taxol is that I have to take a steroid the night before and receive it again in my pre chemo drip. It's 2:35 am and I can't go to sleep.

    I hope Nat achieves pCR!

Happyanyway- so sorry you having trouble sleeping. I usually have a hard time sleeping the 3 days after chemo. What a pain these steroids are :( Glad that Taxol has been easier than the A/C. You are so lucky to have such a supportive sister. I am also lucky in that regard.

Jrom- hope Nat does well on the antibiotics. Those can be a pain sometimes. She does great keeping up her activity levels. Keep up the good work. I need to get better motivated on some days. Very hot here lately.

Mountainmia- yes, I can certainly identify with the bristly head. My hair seems to be growing in too, which seems strange to me. I never lost eyebrows or lashes either. Your homemade pizza made me hungry. I also make homemade pizza from scratch. I can make a pizza dough in under 3 minutes. My dad taught me well😳

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend. Prayers and warm hugs to all.

4th day of chemo. Too much acid reflux. Anything that helps?
