mocame: Congrats on your son's acceptance and your making the three flights of stairs. I can go down three but it would take a long while for me to walk up. Let us know how your appointment goes. Remind me which AI you are on? I think it took 8 months before the letrozole messed up my joints. Only been on anastrozole for two months but so far so good.

I drove today. It's one week after. I was trying to sell a piece of jewelry and got someone interested. I had planned to meet at the police station but the Winn Dixie was more central. He turned out to be a nice guy who is also collecting coins. We talked a bit about that. I did lose some money but it's better than nothing. When I feel better, I've got lots of large and small things to try to sell.

Kamboka - I'm on Anastrozole. Overall, I feel pretty good. Mostly problems with my feet, ankles, and hips when I first get up in the morning and if I sit too long or walk a lot without a break. The achiness in my legs is new and just happens during the night.

I have a lot of things to sell too. I've sold about a 1/2 dozen items but need to sell a lot more. I have over 80 Longaberger baskets and I need to get rid of some, especially the ones that I never use.

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday was my 68th birthday. I went to lunch with one of my friends and husband surprised me with flowers, candy, balloons and a gift card. It was a pleasant day.

mocame, the thumb shot didn't help much. Some people say it took a couple a injections before they had relief.

Kamboka, I am glad it fixed itself. How is the pain today?

mocame: I'm collecting Lladros, paperweights and coins. Way too much. When I feel better, I'm going to try to unload some of the ones that I don't "love".

I had to drive yesterday to meet that fellow who bought a ring from me. I decided to go into CVS as well to pick up something. My stomach was much more sore last night. I don't feel back other than I don't have loads of energy and the sore stomach.

Here is one of my flowers from the 100 and some that I threw into the flower bed last fall.

Petite1 - Happy Belated Birthday! What a great husband to surprise you like that! It sounds like you had a great birthday! Well that stinks that it takes multiple shots to have significant relief. How close together can you get the shots?

Kamboka - What a pretty flower! I don't have anything like that here.

I had labwork, appointment with MO, and injection yesterday. It was very busy and more chaotic than normal. My labwork came out great. I saw my MO for maybe 5 minutes including the exam. I saw a NP first and she asked if I had any new medical issues, etc. What I realize now and didn't realize then was that SHE was the person I was supposed to talk to about all my issues including problems on the meds. Before, I only talked to the MO about them. The injection went fine.

Good morning, ladies. Thank you. It was a very pleasant day.

mocame, The next appointment I have is 3/26, so 3 weeks apart. I am glad you MO visit went well. I did get the best information from the NP.

Kamboka, That is a pretty flower. Take it easy. When do you have to go back for follow up?

mocame: glad the visit went well. I, too, find that the NPs usually take more time to explain things--as long as you get a good one.

petite1: maybe that next shot will work. Was it painful? Just the thought of having a shot between my fingers makes me cringe.

I'm about 75% as I'm a little fatigued (not eating much) and my stomach is sore. Today, I was nauseated and had a hard time to stuff down the shakes. I tried brushing my teeth, sucking on a tic tac and even took and anti nausea tablet. Just the thought of the milk based drink is now good today. I might have made a mistake with my evening soup. I had a mushroom soup and found some mushrooms in my fridge. I baked them and then blended them in the soup. It really made it taste better but I think some of the hunks of mushroom got stuck in my stomach. Now, I'm trying to drink lots of water to wash it down. Every evening I usually look forward to my jello with greek yougurt. It's something differtn. This weekend, I'll start on scrambled eggs.

I drove today to CVS, grocery store and my favorite thrift store. I only could stay about 10 minutes in each place but it was good to get out.

I have my PCP visit on Monday. I'm taking a blood thinner shot for a month and need to find out if I should stop before my breast biopsy in a week. I sent a note to the MO and the Surgery and both said ask the other. Hopefully the PCP can answer the question.

Kamboka, I would think they would take you off the blood thinner before the biopsy. I am glad you are feeling better.

Had my PCP visit today. Almost worthless. At least she said she would contact the radiologist to see if and when to stop the blood thinner. If I don't hear back, I'll just stop it myself a few days before and after. She's such a young, self confident lady with limited experience. I'll see about changing later. I might end up with someone worse. :(

Kamboka - I'm glad you are feeling well enough to start getting out for a little bit. Progress! It's frustrating when doctors want to pass the buck off to someone else and you don't get answers. Hopefully you will get a new PCP with more knowledge.

The PCP called but had no news. I read on an internet site that I should stop 3 -5 days before. I think I'll just not take my two weekend shots and not start back until Wednesday or Thursday. I'm walking around so my chances of getting a clot are less. Did I mention that my new insurance company doesn't want to pay for the 2nd night. The hospital has already responded with a rebuttal so I'll see what happens. Healthcare is not the best in the USA--I know from expereince. It is, however, about the most expensive.

Kamboka - A couple of weeks ago my hospital called me because they denied my surgery from back in December! They claimed I had other health insurance. I have sent them messages a few times over the years saying that my only insurance is theirs and they keep trying to deny claims. This claim was for over $107,000!

I have BCBS Medicare Advantage and it has been very good to me.

mocame, I hope you can get that resolved.

Kamboka, I hope you can get that resolved.

sometimes it it a coding issue or maybe that didn't get authorization for the second night prior to surgery.

mocame: It's a headache when you get these overcharged bills. My bill for stay and surgery was over 60K and that's without the surgeon and anesthesia fees. Ridiculous. In the old days, I could have this done in South Africa for $5K. I hope you get yours straightened out. I think the interns who authorized me to stay forgot to get the clearance.

petite1: Did you all have some bad weather today. Apparently, south of where I live had tornado warnings. It rained a little with some wind but nothing bad where I'm at.

Kamboka, It was windy and some rain, but not too bad. Cool today.

Very windy and cool here today. Can't wait till Tuesday when it starts to warm back up.

Tomorrow, I have my breast biopsy.

I got notified this weekend that some of my claims got processed. I think at least some of the claims got resolved. Not sure if all of them did. It looks like they want me to pay over a $1,000 because my deductible wasn't met...The problem is that the deductible was met earlier last year before the surgery. Ugh.

Yesterday started in the 20s in the morning and got into the 60s in the afternoon with sun! Woohoo! Spring!

Kamboka, Good luck. I hope it turns out OK.

mocame: Glad some of the claims got paid but even $1000 is so very much. Our healthcare system is way overpriced.

I spent three hours at the breast center. They did the stereotactic and then the RO came back and said she wanted to go back in since she didn't get a great specimen. I agreed but she wasn't able to grab another good specimen. She'll just see what this is and then I'll probably just have to follow up in 3-6 months. The biopsy wasn't bad and the staff were wonderful. the worse part was the contortions that my body had to do to get the breast in the right place. I started have numbness and cramping which wasn't fun.

I was so happy the sun came out this afternoon. It's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow.

Our weather is slowly starting to catch up to you Floridians! LOL! It's supposed to be 66 today! Yay!

Kamboka - I've had a couple of stereotactic biopsies and they are not very comfortable! I am wishing you the best results. Did they say how long it will be until you find out?

  • petite1
    petite1 Member Posts: 2,293

Kamboka, going to 79 degrees today. Hoping you will have results soon and they are benign.

  • kamboka
    kamboka Member Posts: 1,079

They said the results should be with the MO on Wednesday so it depends on how soon he releases it to the portal or calls me. I'm hoping for portal as that will probably mean it was just calcification.

mocame: Glad the weather is warming up for you. Spring is my favorite season!

    kamboka Member Posts: 1,079

MO emailed me that the specimen was benign. I will follow up with him in six months. That's a relief! One less thing to think about--at least for six more months. Smile

My foot neuropathy is driving me crazy. I'm going to ask for the Lyrica but trying to wait until I'm eating more calories. So far, I've lost 26 pounds since I started the two week fast before surgery.

Hey, girls!...It's going to be 76 degrees here today! Yay!

It was 88 yesterday. I did some yard work and even went in the swimming pool.

  • kamboka
    kamboka Member Posts: 1,079

It was in the 80s today and I had to turn on the A/C in the car and house.

mocame: I'm happy you can share in the great weather. I'm so happy I moved to FL.

petite1: I wish you could come and work on my garden. I need to be watering the flowers but I don't. We seem to be going 7-8 days or more without rain. The geckos are back!

Well...it's in the 30s this morning and gusty winds. Brrr! It won't get into the 60s until the end of the week.

Petite1 - I didn't get to even touch my flowerbeds yet.

Kamboka - How are you feeling?
