The reps are good at asking for our help as Murkowski seems to be doing but most have no trouble appropriating the good things we do as having come from their own hands. No wonder so many of them have become loathsome.

Betrayal, you read my mind. I was going to opine the very same thing since we all seem to fall heir to ill health at times. So nice Ex that you post your thoughts and ideas, opinions since we all can do that as well.

Seth Rogen’s censored remarks at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony perfectly captured the hypocrisy of Silicon Valley billionaires who claim to champion science while backing politicians who undermine it. During the event, Rogen said, “It’s astonishing that some in this room funded the election of a man who, just last week, single-handedly wrecked American science. It’s impressive how much good science can be dismantled with $320 million and RFK Jr. so quickly”. His pointed jab at the tech elite and their political alliances was met with discomfort and only a smattering of applause.

What’s especially frustrating is that these lines were scrubbed from the official YouTube video, with organizers insisting it was “for time.” That excuse doesn’t hold up—YouTube isn’t bound by broadcast schedules, and the segment was hardly long enough to justify a cut. It’s obvious the real motivation was to avoid embarrassing the event’s powerful funders by exposing the contradiction between their public support for science and their private political actions.

This kind of censorship shows how the ultra-wealthy try to control the narrative, pretending you can support both science and anti-science politicians without consequence. Rogen’s words, even if cut from the broadcast, remind us that real progress means holding the powerful accountable—even when it makes them squirm. Thank you Seth Rogan for speaking truth to power. Our country needs more of that, especially right now.

Not sure if you saw the video of an ICE agent smashing in someone’s car window, but it wasn’t even an ICE agent who did it. It turns out the person behind the violence was actually a member of “Veterans on Patrol,” a far-right militia group with a history of targeting immigrants and spreading conspiracy theories.

This group has a long history of vigilante “operations,” harassing migrants, detaining people without authority, and spreading QAnon-style misinformation. Their presence reflects a broader, troubling pattern of far-right militias taking immigration enforcement into their own hands—often with little regard for legality or human rights. Veterans on Patrol’s activities have been condemned for undermining legitimate law enforcement and putting vulnerable people at risk, especially as they openly reject the need to comply with state or federal laws, claiming their actions are sanctioned by God.

Let’s be real—this is MAGA country now, and the normalization of far-right extremism is only getting worse. The FBI and Homeland Security have been warning for years that domestic terrorism, especially from right-wing groups, poses a serious and growing threat to our safety and democracy. But instead of taking action, Republican leaders have either downplayed the danger or outright attacked the agencies trying to keep us safe, all while fueling the very rhetoric that inspires these extremists. It’s no wonder incidents like this keep happening.

Honestly, it feels like the playbook for these guys is already written: cause chaos, become a right-wing media darling, and get rewarded with a Fox News contract or a run for Congress. We’ve seen fringe media figures and MAGA influencers get invited to the White House and treated like heroes by Trump and his allies. So don’t be surprised if this so-called “patriot” ends up shaking hands with Trump in the Oval Office or getting a big bear hug on stage at a rally. In today’s Republican Party, that’s not just possible—it’s practically expected.

So irritating and upsetting to me that any VETERAN would even think of aligning with the rt. and even more so to harass ad hurt people who they otherwise than malicious intent, should be having nothing to do with.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s recent comments on autism, calling it an “epidemic” that “destroys families” and insisting it’s a “preventable disease” caused by environmental toxins is an absolute disgrace. His rhetoric, which paints autistic people as burdens and claims they’ll “never hold a job, never pay taxes,” is not just scientifically baseless as well as dangerously stigmatizing; it is downright cruel. Autism is not a disease to be eradicated; it’s a neurological difference, and these kinds of statements harken back to eugenic ideologies that devalue the lives of disabled people.

The scientific consensus is clear: the rise in autism diagnoses is primarily due to better awareness, broader diagnostic criteria, and improved screening—not some sinister environmental toxin or vaccine, as Kennedy suggests. Genetics play the largest role in autism, with environmental factors being much less significant, and there’s no credible evidence linking vaccines or postnatal exposures to autism. By ignoring this reality, Kennedy is fueling misinformation that has already done immense harm to public health and the autism community.

What’s truly sinister is not autism, but the persistent effort to frame autistic people as tragic victims or societal burdens. Families and advocates are pushing back, highlighting the diversity, potential, and value of people on the spectrum. As one parent put it, “Autism doesn’t destroy families. You know what does? Inaccurate information passed along as science”. Instead of scapegoating autistic people, we should be fighting for inclusion, support, and respect—because the real threat is not autism, but the prejudice and fear-mongering that Kennedy’s comments represent.

Well, one of the real tragedies is your illness sir, that spreads your ignorance to people who choose to pay attention. And sadly, those who do get to share your conspiracy theories rather than strong scientific proof. Too bad there doesn't seem to be a cure for you — so you could stop spreading your infection.

For weeks, the Trump administration’s stonewalling over Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s fate was so extreme that many people—including Maryland lawmakers—feared he might be dead. The administration refused to provide any information about his well-being or even confirm he was alive, fueling rumors and deepening the anguish of his family and supporters. That’s why it feels nothing short of a miracle that Senator Chris Van Hollen was finally able to meet with Kilmar in El Salvador after so many obstacles, bringing long-overdue proof of life and hope to everyone fighting for his safe return.

The fact that it took a U.S. senator flying to El Salvador and confronting guards just to check on a constituent’s safety is a damning indictment of both the Trump administration and Salvadoran authorities. Kilmar’s wrongful deportation—despite clear court orders—was already a gross violation of due process, and now he’s being held without charges while the administration spreads baseless smears to justify their cruelty. This is not just bureaucratic incompetence; it’s a deliberate campaign to disappear and dehumanize vulnerable people, using U.S. taxpayer dollars to prop up foreign prisons notorious for abuse.

Next steps are moving quickly: a federal judge has ordered the administration to answer, under oath, about their actions and to expedite Kilmar’s release, with depositions and document disclosures happening over the next two weeks. Senator Van Hollen and other lawmakers are keeping the pressure on, demanding transparency and refusing to let this blatant human rights violation be swept under the rug. The left must keep fighting—this is about basic decency, the rule of law, and standing up to an administration that would rather hide its mistakes than reunite families and respect the courts.

Between 2016 and now. Trump has offed a lot of people. This yahoo likely because he doesn't care one whit likely thinks who the hell cares if there are a few more. He has no thought of the millions already gone from Covid, and if more go, so what. How sad and it doesn't have to be that way.

He'll have a story if he comes home and there are those who won't want that story told. Not for sure but seems like it was mentioned somewhere that he would just be deported elsewhere if they have to take him out of El Salvador.
