I will follow up the video with one of my favorite quotes:

""It may be different elsewhere. But democratic society - in it, the highest duty of the writer, the composer, the artist is to remain true to himself and to let the chips fall where they may." --John F. Kennedy, 1963

After hearing Lovato's song, I picked up my copy of Rebecca Traister's Good and Mad book about the power of women's anger. Don't swallow that anger, use your power.

Put something in this a.m. but this site was doing something and I timed out before it went in so not even sure now. I too like the Lovato music. I think most of us want and NEED to feel some assurance that Trump won't sneak in this time around. I sure can't see it at this point. He is a known quality now - no one has to bet on him. He has shown his true colors from day one.

I'm still thinking that he made a deal with the devil ( not really for sure who that devil is/was ) and the Reps. made a deal with each other. Both sides ( mainly ) were happy at the time, but there have come to bear a whole lot of regrets. In some cases Trump kept going too far -- just like when he blurts out things he is going to do -- or makes people ( Sessions ) resign, or puts things into place ( leaving the Kurds ) without actually telling anyone first. So, I do have much hope that the long lines are voters ( no matter which party ) putting a vote in for Biden. Trump will get his share of the vote, but I'm praying it is not as close as some have suggested. I hope there is another huge blue wave ( tsunami size ) and that it is too much for anyone to change. That would put Trump in a pretty horrid position. It is time to be over him. People want their sanity back -- even if Trumpism itself hangs on for a bit -- this chaos and destruction of human people has to stop period. We cannot ( nor can they ) afford to let madmen be in charge of any part of our government. Trump and his people have to go.

I think we are seeing the evidence of the grab for power from the repugnicans. Remember this quote from Lord Acton, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority."

Perhaps Lindsey provided the rope for his own hanging or at least losing his seat today when he made his Freudian slip about "the good ol' days"?

Betrayal you are likely quite right. I just read the Rethugs are , win or lose the presidency and or Senate, going to revert back to full on stingy so as to make it nearly impossible for Pres. Biden to spend stimulus monies, or on things that may be needed to run a successful government. Going to be dicey. Hoping we lose enough Rethugs election time to maybe throw a monkey wrench into that idea. We need to get back to better times and that is gong to take a long time.

NBC is taking some heat for scheduling Trump’s town hall same day and time as Biden's town hall on ABC. Some call for boycotts of the network, but in the end, NBC will not lose a thing. It’s atrocious that Trump wouldn’t do a virtual debate but will do the town hall thing. He writes his own rules. Tis a pity what people have decided to tolerate. And even applaud.

Not just Ann Richards, Wrenn44, but Molly Ivins as well. Can you imagine what she would have to say about the Mango Mussolini? She'd have skewered him, roasted him over an open flame and thrown him into the dustbin of history, all without breaking a sweat. Man I miss her.

When I heard that NBC was letting DT do a Town Hall thing all I could think was: THE APPRENTICE strikes again! He made beaucoup bucks for NBC and maybe feels it owes him? Dunno the details of the deal they had.....just musing but with how fucking crazy Trump is--crazy as in fox crazy--maybe he's planning another reality show for if and when he loses.....don't know what the "rules" are on ex-presidents in that regard but of course he'd retain SS protection and the SS might balk at the idea of protecting him as he runs another TV show.......bet NBC would not actually hate the idea of having him back in some capacity.....or maybe he'll go on to start his own TV channel.....when he gets done with legal matters like the SDNY..... when he gets done with paying back those Russian etc oligarchs who fronted him $$$ to get him elected....when he gets done with getting done.....

Am NOT watching his anus-mouth tonight....no way.....

    beaverntx,

I was thinking the same thing. I have some puttering around the house to do and tons of virtual school assignments to review but I’ll have it on in the background. Biden of course, not trump 😂

Wish I had some fill-in on the debates, but a lot of work to do when I got home from my little job at around 6 p.m. Then a call from a friend who needs some help -- that went on for some time, and then I had to prepare a late tossed together hot meal for us, and that was after we fed a couple of baby kittens who always make a mess of then selves and the food. By the time I sat down there were only a couple of minutes of the Biden town hall left.

I did get to see Rachel later on. Sounds like Trump told mucho lies many of them inciting to likely Q-anon. He didn't know what they did, but thought it was something about pedophilia. Give me a break. Rachel did watch and she said Trump got to a point where he appeared to be shrinking into himself. Was sweaty and just not making a good impression at all, and that was even you didn't even consider the lying. He was not holding up. My take on that would be -- long day, and how many hrs. can you punp steroids into Trump to keep him going. I think Guthrie likely was getting him wrung out too. She is good.

One other thing I will mention is that Steve Schmidt was on Rachel and he is hell on wheels on Trump being a part of the Lincoln Project. He said ( and I've heard the same before ) that Biden's good numbers are being under-reported. Steve did not say why, but I have heard the statement before and so I wonder -- maybe when it sounds toss upey or in the margin of error -- Biden's numbers could be better. Why they are not saying ?? who knows. But I hope that is true. Maybe no one wants to take the chance of people being complacent -- and Trump and his people are sure not going to tell that Biden's numbers are higher.

It sounds like Trump is feeling even more desperation because he is coming on strong now with the conspiracy theories and all out lies.

It is going to be interesting.

Okay, so here is the show that drumpf could be a master at, the male version of "orange is the new black". While it most likely will not air on NBC since it was a Netflix series, I am sure they can discuss who airs it and it would be a reality show if NYC sends him to prison. A win-win from my perspective and nah, I won't watch it because the meathead didn't appeal to my when he did the Appprentice either.

I would love to have seen Ann Richardson and Molly Ivins do a roast of all drumpfisms. Ann wasn't impressed by "W" and her biting wit used to make me hoot with laughter.

drumpf claiming ignorance of QAnon and the Proud Boys is just pitiful. Who ever talks about orgabizations they do not know anything about other than him? If he watches as many news shows as they claim he does, he is well-informed and thinking we are stupid. Well, it is not tattooed on my forehead yet, so he is only hoodwinking himself.

I am sure he probably has a major case of diaper rash after this evening and his poor performance. Still has no agenda for his next term?

OK, I watched some of each Town Hall...

Joe was calm, confident, cordial--and presidential. (God, I hope saying such things doesn't jinx things!)

I watched a bit of Weird Donald. To me he was doing a perfect imitation of The Guy At The End Of The Bar. You know the one: sucking on a glass of booze for the better part of six hours, rolling around on his stool like it's been greased, being avoided by everyone, rambling on to the trying-not-to-listen bartender who's slowly wearing a hole in a bar mop as he wipes off stray drops of liquor + spittle being flung out of his mouth by the crazy drunk uncle, sorely wishing that the boss "would let the bartenders wear masks in here!"

DT doesn't know what QAnon is and he's the president of the US, probably has been briefed on it every week for the past four years? I wish Savannah had said, "But you're the president, Mr President! Who if not you SHOULD know???"

But it's so easy to poke fun. Be cocksure. As it was back when DT swaggered out of that bus, bragging to Billy Bush. Recall how we made fun of him, fake-gagged about him with our friends? Were so sure Hillary would win? Heard later how Trump's own TEAM thought she would win? How TRUMP thought she would win?

Liberals have been well-educated. We write good copy. We're fun to read and easy to believe.

His people haven't been and aren't. But they're out there in the millions, thinking that their Donald, sadly, owes a pile of $$$ to somebody--or somebodies--and may not get the same help he got four years ago.

Thinking things like we're all he has. . .

I ain't counting my chickens. Right now to prepare myself--I'm a fatalist--my chickens have fluffy orange hair, are overweight, and can't cluck without lying. And I promise you I have no idea how many there are.

Ten minutes of Weird Donald, the drunk at the end of the bar and his term, was all I could stand...then it was

I lost a whole post so I will just say that is it so sad that we have to risk our health and well-being to vote out of office the heinous orange person who was allowed to be a one man destruction derby with the help of so many enablers from the GOP. I think we are going to see a blue tsunami, but I admit I worry about how that will be handled by Trump and his people. It is not going to be easy. I do pray all the bases have been covered in advance.
