I got a BallotTrace confirmation that my ballot arrived at the election commission and is ready to be tallied.
Apparently, over 300,000 Coloradans have already voted. And that's ballots received and logged, not including people who just today mailed or dropped off in an election box.

Trill, I agree, you are not a downer. I also thought Hillary would pull it off in 2016. NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think this country would elect that jerk. It was such a shock to wake up in the morning and realize what had happened. Hoping that it doesn't happen again, and trying to do my part to get the word out.
There is a sign that I pass almost every day that says: "Trump, 2020, no more bulls**t". And I think,,,, we don't get anytthing but BS from him!! And right next door, is the guy with the biggest BIDEN sign (actually a flag) in the neighborhood!! Biden signs definitely outnumber tRump signs in the neighborhood. Of course, this is a liberal college town,,, I can't imagine driving outside the county right now!
ETA: I checked my ballot online, and it has been received with no problems. It would show red instead of blue if there were issues,, like a signature problem. I had dropped it in the box at the Supervisor of Elections office. My 90 year old friend did the same, and I helped her check online,,, and hers is there too. YAY!!

The Carter Center, which Jimmy Carter started after his presidency in part to assure fair elections in the developing world, is making explicit its plan for watchdogging an American contest for the first time.
The organization has unveiled one video explaining the basics of voting rights and balloting logistics, and another video encouraging patience if the presidential result is not known soon after the voting stops in 19 days because millions of mailed ballots will still need to be counted. It's also finalizing arrangements for unprecedented on-the-ground observation by volunteers in places with histories of voter suppression, in neighborhoods surrounding the center's Atlanta headquarters and in other mostly Southern states.

Just copied that to my FB Glennie! And Miranda, yes! Ballot Trace just counted my ballot also! Didn't know you are in Denver! The smoke has been TERRIBLE, right? And that WIND last night, HAD to have done some damage! Afraid to see what it looks like out there when it gets light!
I felt euphoric the morning I got up and saw that T-rump had been impeached! But THAT didn't do any good! So hoping things will turn out better IF he is voted out!!! Wonder if he will just slither around the white-house, and pretend he is the resident rat.

Went to bed last election confident Hillary would win. And she did, the popular vote. Stupid EC threw it to him. When DH told me Cheeto got it, felt like a punch in the gut and I screamed. Horrible.
Past couple nights a group of dummies have been carefully standing on public right of way waving trump signs. I drive by, middle finger raised. A man yelled idiot at me. How they can do that is beyond me.

Our relationships are our sacred responsibilities, for they are the framework within which life is lived. They show us where we have more learning and loving to do. Our interactions with others call up the disabling beliefs and negative patterns of behavior we need to releaseโthe cynicism, anger, resentment, and jealousy that block love's flow. Our relationships are our mirrors; they reflect where we are in consciousness .And if we are willing to face the truth about ourselves, our relationships offer the lessons that lead to our greatest transformation. -Susan L. Chevy: I found that statement you made so funny. Slithering around the WH if he lost. I do sort of wonder what will truly happen. He is soooo into his personal image. I also worry about what will take place ( knowing he has so many who would help him totally ) when he loses and has all those weeks left until transition day -- incoming and outgoing.
Well, frankly I don't think he will participate. He hasn't upheld any norms to date and at this point I expect NOTHING from him in that department. If he did anything at all it would be to create some sort of horrible spectacle I imagine, but yes -- he has taught me to look for the worst in attitude, behavior, and as much vindictdiness ( yes I had to add that word to my personal dictionary ) as one person can display. The idea of that is so repugnant to me that I almost cannot dream up a scenario. Yet people will indeed vote for this huge lump of orange trash. I can only think of what the history books might say of this four yr. interlude while the U.S. went crazy. Can't wait until all traces of the orange stain are removed forever and hoping that much is put into place now to not have something like Trump happen to the WH ever again.

I have an idea for the Trump sign: Just change the punctuation a little, from "Trump, 2020, no more bullshit." to "Trump, 2020, no more. Bullshit!"

Glennie, thanks for your comments. Glad you were "with me" last November, at least in spirit!
Jackie, foreign powers--notably Putin--have sure played DT like a beachball...
Although I'll have to restrain myself from opening my window and making an exit out of it should I wake up on November 4th to learn that DT has won, it IS so good and comforting to know that I won't be alone in feeling utterly abject. I'll be thinking of you, my good ladies and friends. I just hope we don't wake up to that.....maybe this time will be different.....
So Trump would leave the country if he loses?
I hope the door hits him on the way out!
My father would have loved Joe Biden. He, like Joe, stammered. Even though for the most part he'd gained control of it he never was a talker. A great listener, yes, but not much of a talker. He would have thought Joe's overcoming his stammering to rise to great heights remarkable--even amazing.
But Donald Trump would have made him shake his head and say under his breath,
"Son of a bitch."

Here is some satire from our local paper.
Laughing through the Apocalypse
The pressure's enormous. After all, my biography says I'm a humorist and satirist. Can you imagine trying to out-satirize 2020? It's like trying to out-sin Satan.
As for humor, well, absurdity, I've got.
That and Dramamine.
For starters, Typhoid Donny's ranting and raving in the White House, steroids in one hand, the nuclear football in the other, while the rest of America channels their inner Alfred E.
Neuman: "What โ me worry?"
Last week alone, Trump dropped an F-bomb on "The Rush Limbaugh Show" while threatening Iran, cratered the market by slamming the door on COVID stimulus (he reversed course), demanded the arrest of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, did a spot-on Evita impersonation on the White House balcony โ don't cry for me pulmonary edema โ and called Kamala Harris "a monster," apparently for demanding equal time from Vice Robot Mike Pence during their debate. I'm not saying Pence is an automaton but I've seen more evidence of a pulse onstage at Chuck E. Cheese.
Like his boss, Pence refused to pledge a peaceful transfer of power should his ticket lose.
Then, when the Good Lord Above in all his righteous anger decided to send a plague down upon Pence, all he could manage was one measly fly.
What does that tell you about 2020? God is fresh out of pestilence! I half expect to see God at an intersection holding a sign: "Will smite for locusts."
Far be it from me to give God advice, but I think he brought out the murder hornets way too early. What's he going to do for a finale? He may have to borrow the flying monkeys from Hillary.
It gets worse. The FBI has arrested members of a right-wing extremist militia (or as the president calls them, "my constituency") plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and liberate Michigan. Meanwhile, back in free North Dakota where much of the population has inexplicably taken to licking each other's doorknobs, Gov.
Doug Burgum was seen waving his arms and pleading, "Take me! Take me!"
In South Dakota, (new motto: "COVID: We're on it!") the state recorded 5,000 active hoax cases last week, as compared to ND Smart's 4,000. Not only are ICU's filling up, COVID-19 itself has been hospitalized with exhaustion.
Buried among these headlines was the revelation that in 2017 the president paid less in taxes than your pizza delivery guy and that he's $400 million in debt โ but surely not to the Russians or the Saudis.
He also profited $73 million from foreign interests in his first two years in office. Domestically, he's made millions more on hotel properties from businesses and governments hoping to curry favor. But move along folks. Nothing to see here. The man's just draining the swamp.
Even NDSU made the headlines.
Not only have NFL players continued to protest the wrong way by kneeling during the national anthem, members of the once-sainted Bison did the same thing before their game against Central Arkansas. Many Caucasian fans (who are not the least bit racist and even have a black friend) were so outraged they vowed to boycott the team for as long as they can hold their breath.
"You've got to stand for what's white โ err, I mean right," one former fan explained, "After all, this is America."

Voted yesterday. No lines in my small NC town. I wore my Women's March 2017 shirt. In my mostly white neighborhood the number of Biden-Harris signs is equal to the number of Trump signs. I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not

"The presidency deserves someone who is competent and honest. Someone who has empathy and compassion. Someone who upholds the dignity, and shows respect to, the office. Someone who has character and knows ultimately the presidency isn't about him (or someday her), but about US."

Test result today: NEGATIVE!!! (But still gonna drop my ballot in the official Chi. Bd. of Elections box inside the Armory--our ward's early voting site--rather than risk my life standing in line to vote in person. With judicial retention questions, it's a really long ballot--and casting it onscreen in-person would require too much time indoors with other people who may not have been careful). Gonna fill it out tonight after consulting InjusticeWatch.org's list of recommended and not-recommended judges.
Why do Trumpies support him despite all his awful and stupid remarks & actions? It's not because they're uneducated or stupid. And why do they want to "crush" us? "REVENGE AGAINST THE NERDS." They love him because he pisses us off, and they want to "own the libs." Why? Resentment. They feel we teachers' pets and good students got further ahead in life than did they, and when we grew up we told them what and what not to do. They may inwardly be appalled by him, but to paraphrase Melania confiding to her assistant, "they know whom they married" and are fine with him achieving their goals of revenge & racism.

Hi. I'm new in this thread. Thanks to Trishyla for the invitation.
I live in Iowa. It is more purple here (not red or blue) than most people realize. We need a blue wave, though, to elect Biden, Greenfield, at least 3 (of 4) House reps, and our state house and senate. I checked my ballot status a few minutes ago and it's been logged in.

Well, earlier today,,, I said I can't imagine going outside my county. And then my BFF said, " Let's go to Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens. We haven't been there in a while". It is a lovely garden, fabulous plants down inside of an old rock quarry. BUT it's in the next county SW of us!! OMG,,, all the tRump signs and flags that we saw on our way to the Gardens. (Spooks: it's in Levy County, home of the KKK) We did spy a few Biden signs and cheerfully called them out every time we saw one. But tRump signs were 12 to 1 in that county. So sad.
Love that candy corn tRump!! And that Donald Trumpkin sign LOL!!
Sandy: Congrats on being negative!!!!!
