Great memes, Jackie. George Washington must be rolling in his grave.

(Hahaha! Who said Trump couldn’t last 60 minutes?)

The sad, astounding truth is that even tho the f*cking leader of the country has no official political platform, and absolutely no plan to control the pandemic, he has millions of supporters lined up to ______________. Fill in the blank. They support him to the point where it almost seems they are sexually aroused by it.

The other sad truth is, I don’t really believe “most” of Trump’s supporters are uneducated. Many educated people support the man, too. I read that many veterans still support him. Also, conservative Catholics flock to him. He’s been courting the Catholics by various means. While I know the uneducated stand by him, I also personally know quite a few educated people who do, too. I still can’t get a read on health care workers or teachers. I don’t see any articles on which candidate those professions lean towards. Last election, I know many teachers personally who voted Trump.

You know what "essential workers" are supposed to do on the job? Wear a F***ING MASK and physically distance!!!

The official WH policy of "old people stay home, everyone else go out & party and hope we get vaccines & effective treatments" is analogous to the morbidly obese patient who, when warned by their doctor to make lifestyle changes and lose weight, whines "why can't I just take a pill?"

Well, Trump might have depressed his supporters' vote by his own stupidity. Anti-masker attending rallies and thinking this thing is a hoax. Now it's hitting red states and rural areas hard and I imagine sensible mask-wearing socially-distanced folks are less at risk compared to the reckless idiots. I suspect more of them will be sick stuck at home gasping for breath on election day.

Tonight's news is so relentlessly depressing that I can barely comment without getting sick to my stomach: Barrett getting sworn in, WH giving up on the pandemic, SCOTUS saying WI can reject any ballot--no matter how early the postmark date--that doesn't arrive at the polling place when the doors close Nov. 3; and even though it refused to grant cert and prohibit PA from counting ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 but arriving up to 3 days late, now that there's a 6-3 right-wing majority (the newest of whom still has stars in her eyes for the blob who appointed her and the turtle-snake who rammed her confirmation through without allowing debate and feels beholden to them both, despite the fact that now that she has a lifetime job there are no consequences to her should she do the right--small "r"--thing), the PA GOP is re-filing its suit hoping for a WI-esque decision. The average delay time for postal deliveries now in largely Democratic areas of battleground states is 5 business days--so unless (or even if) a ballot is dropped in the mail in Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Detroit or Cleveland tomorrow it may not arrive in time to be counted. Why is Fauci getting death threats while DeJoy is sitting pretty?

The Rat Bastard-in-Chief (and his henchpeople in the Senate & now the bench) is stealing this election right from under our noses. And now via E.O. he's stripped any policy-making Fed. employees of their civil service protections, making loyalty to him a condition of their employment. If by some miracle Biden wins and takes office, it's gonna take him a solid month of full work days to write enough E.O.s to undo Il DuceBag's before he can give anything to Congress.

At least I got confirmation from the city's Bd. of Elections that they received my ballot, my signatures matched, and it has been accepted for counting. I dropped it off Sat.; Bob did his today.

I just saw "The Trial of the Chicago 7" and it was great. If next week rolls not in our favor I'm watching it again. To be inspired, to help me crawl out from under a blanket of sadness and anger....

Sandy, what you say is sure depressing. A friend has been saying to me over and over that DT is gonna steal this....here's a quote from a recent email:

"I still expect him to quite openly and illegally steal the election by overt cheating, and no one in power will stand up to him. Well, some are making the effort, but he's completely out of his mind with greed and power and will simply swat the legal flies that land on him. His followers are no better… the republican party is arguably looking like the nazis of the 21st century, or Borg, or Imperial Stormtroupers, or whatever. A whole new ballgame with the same old goals fascist and white supremacy goals".

But think of those millions who are on our side. Who see Trump for who he is--and the enablers and criminals who lurk with him and smirk with him..

This is a photo of my father. He was building our house and stopped to cuddle a kitty and my mom got this snap....

He was decent and kind and good--yet strong, too.

    He was my Atticus Finch.

I put this here to maybe help one or two of you next week if things don't go our way. I look at it when I'm sad or depressed...

It makes me think how love and goodness run more rampant in this world than awful and evil....

Hold onto love. It's the REAL power on earth.

I am ill too,,, it was such a depressing day yesterday. It's hard to keep fighting, yet fight we must.

I'm off for another day of poll greeting. One of my friends was working on Saturday and a tRump supporter was very verbally abusive to her. He called her a "Dyke", a "Libtard" and was right in her face.

She called her coordinator who basically said don't call the police. I was like, F that. Call the police so they are aware of the problem, and can swing by and get a look at the guy. Not sure if she did, she was debating when I left. ( I had stopped to pick up my library books) He was still hanging around on the sidewalk, shouting at people driving by. But 2 other volunteers (male) had also showed up before I left, so I felt better that she wasn't alone. She could kick ass, but was trying very hard to not engage with him. I yelled at him as I pulled out: "Trump is an asshole" and my dog barked at him. The look on his face was priceless,,,, he was stunned that someone should call the orange man such a name!

I agree with DivineMrsM about some supporters of Trump being very intelligent. My sister and her husband both with advanced degrees believing that adding more money to their already large bank account means more to them than saving the environment (and other things) for their children and grandchildren.

Trump supporters are either arrogant (only care about themselves) or ignorant (don't know any better and don't want to know any better).

I am so worried that this election will come down to a SC ruling. We know how that will go

How in God’s name is Pence surrounded by people infected with Covid yet does not have it? How in the world does 74 year old overweight never exercises has a horrible diet Trump bounce back from Covid in seemingly record breaking time and continue to hold rallies day after day? It befuddles my mind.

I’m not one to place a lot of emphasis or faith in the polls, but one article I read said this time in 2016, Trump was surging in the polls, and this time he is not.

Tho the man is often portrayed as stupid, he is not. While he keeps the Democratic pubic up in arms about a new scandal every day, he is using that as a smokescreen. Behind the scenes he is figuring out all the steps he can take to steal another four years in office. Many people have sold their souls to help him.

Then there is the incredible “lucky” break he had with RBG passing and his getting Barrett on the Court. He had vetted her long long ago and was just waiting, hoping for an in. And the bastard got it. So he plays chess like a master.

I still have hope for a Biden win. It’s nerve wracking, tho. One week

I just can't fathom a Trump win. I can't imagine how the streets will look like if he steals the election, the chaos and bloodbath. I just can't fathom the 6 conservative SC justices would be so stupid not to consider a possible civil war and unjustly vote in Trump's favour.

It truly makes you wonder if he actually had it or he claim to have it to get out of the 2nd debate while he strategized ways to win votes.

I don't understand the thought process of Veterans who are for Trump. You fought for your country to keep freedom alive in the U.S. but are okay with they extraordinary lengths Trump is going to undermine voting? They are okay that he is trying to win by ANY means possible, not by fair voting? How does that make sense. How is anyone okay that Trump is trying to win by any method possible including illegal ones? Do people want their kids to grow up and emulate his kind of behavior? Why teach anti-bullying in schools when as an adult, it's apparently okay to bully people as they cast a vote in the presidential election?

What a beautiful picture of, and tribute to your dad, Trill.

The positive thing that CAN come out of this is that many people have WOKEN UP. The arc of the universe bending toward justice is not a given thing, it is people who make, or don't make, it happen. If good people are uninvolved, bad people will take over & bad things will happen. Your voice does matter, your vote does matter. If enough people heed that call, we can get the country back on track. If not, we probably don't deserve to survive as a democracy.

My hope is that Trump is buried in a landslide so big that even he can not mess with the results, and that the Senate is flipped Blue. If those two things happen, the Supreme Court can be brought back into balance (I would argue that it is the Republicans are the ones who packed the court) and Trump's Executive Orders can be rescinded.

I am sorry to say that not all of Trump's supporters are uneducated. But they cherry-pick where they get their news, they CHOOSE not to think about the immorality and criminality of this administration. Some don't like what he says but 'like his policies' (ie their stock portfolios look good), and others have drunk the Kool Aide and are a part of the Cult of Trump.

I think you give Trump way too much credit, Divine. From all accounts he really is dumber than dirt. But Stephen Miller is not, nor is William Barr, nor is Mitch McConnell. They are the ones propping up this failed President.

Yes, he will do everything he can to steal this election. And there are many who will continue to enable him. Sad, but true.

But, and this is what keeps me from total despair, the 2018 midterms were one of the biggest Blue Wave elections in history. That was a huge repudiation of the Orange Menace. What has he done since 2018 to draw more voters to him? Can you imagine anyone thinking to themself "I thought he was horrible in 2018, but now he's my guy."? I can't.

He has never, not once, broken 50% approval. If Democrats turn out, and with numbers like Ruth posted I'm certain they are, Trump can't win. Not even with cheating.

One last thought. Even Netanyahu and Putin are backing away from him. They know they are going to have a new administration to deal with.
