On a serious note, I wonder how many Trump voters are surprised that Biden is now leading? Not the politicians but your average citizen who voted Republican. Especially the ones who won't read anything or listen to anything other than right wing stuff. Did they really think their Trump train caravans were going to convince the majority of people to vote for him? Did they think intimidation would work? Are they now believing Trump can still pull out a win?

Another thing that is probably getting to Trump is that Joe doesn’t look so sleepy now that he’s in the lead. Biden cuts a more attractive figure in his dark, tailored suits and clean cut hair. Plus his wife Jill is just as attractive as Melania. I think some of the older people who voted for Trump may find they’re even happier with Joe. And Trump knows that and it eats at him.

Divine--Great vid---had me singin' along! Thanks!

I wonder, too, how many of his folks really thought he'd get in....I dunno--I kinda think they've lived so long in a parallel orange universe that they think the SKY is painted with Trump signs!

I really feared--now that I can look back on it and admit it--that there would be a groundswell of his folks live-voting on Tuesday....it had all been about the mail-ins from our side and I thought his people were kinda laying low--well, laying low as only they can lay low!!---waiting for Tuesday, at which time they would hit the polls big-time and overwhelm all the mail-ins and Dem live voting.....

    Didn't happen. Yay!

I read this and thought, wow, now that's a switch:

Graham says Biden 'deserves' a Cabinet if he wins

"When it comes to finding common ground I will do that," the South Carolina Republican says.

    11/06/2020 12:19 PM EST

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Friday that former vice president Joe Biden should have a Cabinet, if he wins the presidency.

Graham, a staunch Trump ally, said during a press call that he would work to find areas of agreement with Biden but emphasized that the election is not yet over.

"When it comes to finding common ground, I will do that," Graham told reporters. "The vice president deserves a Cabinet. I'll give him my input about who I could vote for as secretary of state, attorney general ... There may be some people that I just can't vote for because I think they're unqualified or too extreme."

While the White House and Senate majority have yet to be called, Biden is within striking distance of winning the presidency after taking a slight lead in Pennsylvania, a critical battleground state that would deliver Biden the White House should he win it. Meanwhile, control of the Senate is up in the air. While Republicans are poised to start the year with a razor-thin majority, the state of Georgia will hold two runoffs on January 5 for its pair of Senate races. If Democrats win both of those seats, they will control the Senate with Biden as president.

If Republicans, however, keep their majority, they will play a critical role in determining who Biden can appoint to his cabinet.

Graham has often touted his support for President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominees, Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, and said he will work with Biden where he can. Like many members of the Senate, Biden's relationship with Graham goes back many years.

"In terms of [our] personal relationship, it's good," the South Carolina Republican said. "I've known the vice president for a very long time. He spoke at Sen. [Strom] Thurmond's funeral so Joe Biden has a history of close connections with South Carolina senators."

I have an idea how Trump could make back some of the $$ his campaign spent on ads, etc: sell "Fly on the Wall" tickets----> Pay $5 and get a spot on the Oval Office walls to observe Trump "absorbing" loss......Note: No charge to Pence's fly; he'd get in free.

Hmm, Trump people. I think they have drank the Kook-Aide a very long time. Do they watch the ones at Fox who come closest to the reality of what is going on. Will some of them just sort of fade back into the woodwork of their dreary existences where most politicians lie to them and certainly don't do anything for them. Never mind that most of them have their social security and Medicare ( though that would be gone if their Trump friend were to win this time ). Makes you wonder who or what do they attribute to the positive things in their life. Well, they found love in a special person who lived like a king and told them how bad other people were to them and he could fix it. They don't seem to understand he did nothing for them and that is all they would ever get from him. The only time they ever existed was at a rally where they were willing to hold up stupid signs and scream their lungs loose. Oh and a few got covid too. Whoopie !!!

BTW - I still have not turned on the TV. I am reading the local daily paper and I have checked on line to see if the numbers have changed. Other than that, I'm depending on you all for the good news.

Edited to say, I talked to my ex-DH who usually watched TV every minute of the day. He has not turned it on either.

I do wonder who is going to break it to Trump that the things he is doing right now may slow things down but I can't believe they will change anything. He will just look like exactly what he is -- a person who does not know how to lose because no one ever made him go thru it. He always squeaked out of it. Well I wondered right from the beginning how he would pull this off -- knew he wasn't presidential material and that many things would blow up. So, I thought why would you want to basically stand before the whole world. Other than a psychotic narcissist, it should have been the last thing he would want. Flim-flam artist that bought properties he lost and went bankrupt 6 times and had 4500 lawsuits going. What did he think ( outside of the obvious ) being president would really do for him. Your life is an open book and his life is just not that pretty or stylish or much of anything. He is so low-class it's almost painful. Good thing he doesn't see that. He'd end up in the corner drooling on himself -- if he saw himself as we see him.

I need to plow through my TiVO and watch this week's backlog of Jeopardy & Trevor Noah episodes to make room on the hard drive for the dramas I watch to begin their new seasons. (Yeah, I watch commercial network TV. I also have two university degrees).

Biden is increasing his lead over where it was last night in three of the four as-yet-un-called states he's winning. (I'll concede NC--which does hurt a little--and of course AK, which only the most delusional Polyannas thought would go blue). Maybe more slowly in GA, but still. In PA, it's almost 20K now. In AZ & NV, he's ahead by more than a full percentage (not decimal) point, so recounts there are not a given. In AZ, Trump needs more than 59% of the remaining uncounted ballots to erase Biden's 36K lead--and the last tranche that came through in the past hour were running only 52% pro-Trump. The Kelly-McSally race is unaffected--Kelly has been declared the winner by almost all TV networks.

The Trumpian crazies are at it again. Today in Phoenix, in the parking lot outside the Maricopa County ballot-counting HQ, the QAnon & Boogaloos (yes, they're actually self-ID'ing) spread a rumor that a white van was bringing ballots in from CA. When it was proven that the van was from a press outlet, the rumor turned to an "anti-MM" rant. The van began unloading...cameras, lights, sound equipment. And then its crew ID'ed themselves as...wait for it...FOXNews. You'd think that'd settle it. Nope--because FOX hadn't retracted its Wed. a.m. call giving AZ to Biden, the crowd resumed last night's chant of "FOXNews sucks!" (Not going to explain that it may indeed, but not for that reason).

I am finally chilling a bottle of GH Mumm's (real Champagne, not Mumm Napa) premium brut rosé, but not gonna pop it till enough media outlets call enough states for Biden to go >270 EC votes.

My theory as to why he doubled down on his racism & dictator moves over the past four years? It's becoming evident that he never expected to win in 2016, only to boost the value of his "brand." He was gobsmacked, by all accounts, and likely wondering, "oh, shit--what do I do NOW?" So he went into full-on despot mode, which is the only way he knows how to run any of his business enterprises. And over the course of those years, discovered that he loves having the power while leaving others to deal with the doing the actual job.

And anyone else ever look at the white lettering on Melania's infamous green "I DON'T CARE..." jacket and think, "gee, that looks just like it was spray-painted in guano by seagulls...?"

Seen on FB: “only way Trump gets to 270 is if he drops 50 pounds"

    *

It's bizarre that someone has to break the news to Trump that his White House time is potentially coming to an end. Shouldn't the leader of the free world be able to arrive at that conclusion himself? Sandy, do you think Trump can manipulate the truth enough to actually take some voting argument all the way to the Supreme Court? I saw where Republican PA Senator Pat Toomey said today: “the president's speech last night was very disturbing to me because he made very, very serious allegations without evidence." Toomey said there was no evidence of corruption, fraud or wrongdoing in PA's election.

    *

Dh didn't want to watch any campaign coverage this year, but now that Trump is getting dumped, he is very interested to hear the news journalists and politicians skewer Trump's behavior. I showed dh the video clip of Anderson Cooper describing Trump as the obese turtle (its trending) and dh totally loved it, thrilled that AC was publicly calling out Trump like that.

Can Trump "manipulate the truth" enough to take his argument all the way to SCOTUS? He--more accurately, any of his lawyers who value power-by-association (and their fees*) over professional reponsibility--can certainly try; but his cases would have to wend their way up through the Federal court system with no guarantee that SCOTUS would grant cert should the appropriate Circuit rule against him. (The GOP suit seeking to enjoin PA from counting timely-postmarked but late-arriving--i.e., after today--ballots was shot down when the appellate court ruled against him and SCOTUS split 4-4, which had the effect of denying cert). And there is no guarantee the full SCOTUS would get involved in a motion for reconsideration, seeing as how Barrett might well recuse herself as she did on a few cases last week.

As to those pundits who speculate that the judges & Justices he appointed would rule his way because "they owe him a debt of gratitude," there is no upside to repaying that "debt" nor downside to giving it a well-manicured middle finger. That's what having "a job for life" means. If they rule in his favor it would be because they share his ideology, not out of any sense of obligation.

BTW, I love Neal Katyal's assessments of the pleadings in the lawsuits filed by the Trumpoline Legal Troops: "Tweets with filing fees."

He has already reached the conclusion that his time as LOTFW is indeed coming to an end--but too depressed, scared and above all vain to admit it in public. There is an easy way out for him: sulk his way through the lame duck interregnum, and then on 1/19/21 resign and have Pence pardon him for all Federal offenses. That wouldn't keep him out of State courts (civil or criminal) but it would sure stall for time and keep his lawyers and toadies busy (and have Hannity, Dobbs, Limbaugh and the OANN clowns obsequiously sucking up to him on-air). Eric and Jr. are as vocal as they are because when Daddy is out of a job, there goes their own time in the limelight.

*as if they think he won't stiff them...

I just wish someone would convince him to resign and start grifting---oops I meant fundraising for a 2024 bid. He could be the "Comeback Kid", the greatest comeback story in politics! No one has ever done it before. He could be the bestest ever!

Plus he could do all his rallies and golf and not have do any of the actual work he so despises. Win, win!
