Well, I was up 1.5 lbs after polishing off most of the Halloween candy. Doesn't work nearly as well as ativan.

Ate the rest of the bag of Kit Kats I bought for Halloween......(but really to get through Tuesday...)

Melania, and I really don't care if you DRAG your gasbag of a husband, kicking and screaming, out of OUR WHITE HOUSE!
However much he may feel it's HIS, it's NOT--it's OURS!
Let him go foul another nest!
And take YOURSELF with him!

I'm encouraged by how well Biden is doing.....
He just needs Arizona and Nevada to win.
Or he could win with Pennsylvania alone.
Or Georgia and a western state alone....
Trump NEEDS ALL FIVE!
He needs Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Arizona....

Wow Trill, is it the Kitkats or the sugar load that is responsible for your attack on the worthless Melania (Floozylady of the US)? I support your rant, LOL.

I'm not too upset at how the Senate and House seats have gone.....not that surprised....to me the president is the one who makes the biggest statement....the figure who goes out there and speaks for as many of us as is possible, declaims, signs orders and can, yes, join the world on climate change--or NOT join it. I can't wait til we RE-join it!
Mitch, power-hungry as ever, will keep being Mitch.
The fights will go on.
Yes, we're a divided nation, but to me we've always been, vast territorially and made up of immigrants who've brought and continue to bring here cultures, mind-sets, values, priorities, and histories so diverse it's no wonder the goal of total unity is so idealistic--and, to me, largely unrealistic.
Add to that that we're in the midst of HUGE cultural, social, legal, and environmental changes! Not only would our grandparents not recognize the United States (or the world, for that matter) now---I think my PARENTS wouldn't recognize it!
The last thing we've needed is someone like Trump, who has pushed the dream of unity so far off it's a wonder there aren't MORE riots, more attacks, more provocative behavior....
Don't forget: Putin poisons his enemies.

Betrayal, mark it up to the Goddess Sugar---plus a heaping teaspoon of FOUR YEARS' WORTH of RAGE!

Putin is fond of defenestration as well.
To those finishing up Halloween candy. Amateurs! We needed to top up today.
Minus - We got the Carousel chocolate from Costco, too. I like your snack and wine pairing!

Well, I tried twice to make a post on here and I literally watched my iPad delete it after I hit the send button. I honestly believe the iPad picks up on my nervous energy and runs some kind of interference.
So I'm on the laptop now.
What I wanted to say is from Nate Silver of 538, about an hour and a half ago, he said: "very brief remarks from Biden, who conveys confidence--"we have no doubt" the Biden/Harris ticket will win---but urges patience.
I don't think Biden would say this if they weren't sure of the numbers coming in. His campaign is spread out all over reporting back to Biden's ground zero command central and they are getting up to the second numbers. I think Biden wants to calm his fan base.
Yes, I said it. Biden's fan base. Not Trump's!

Also Nate Silver received this information about an hour and a half ago: "Nevada's Secretary of State says there are approximately 190,150 ballots left to count, 90% of which are from heavily Democratic Clark County." to which Silver commented "if 90 percent of the remaining ballots are from Clark County, Nevada should be projected for Biden, IMO."

Divine - I just looked up her tweet to Trump. His 9 AM tweet has 605K likes. Her 3 PM tweet has exceeded that and went up 3K in the minute I was telling my husband about it.

My niece posted this on FB:
Many of these mail in votes being counted now are our military....they are our nurses and doctors traveling out of state to aid in this pandemic where they are most needed....they are the fire fighters aiding in historic wild fires....they are the pandemic vulnerable and disabled....they are the people you otherwise support for their bravery and their sacrifice.... don't make their vote unimportant because we have so many extraordinary conditions. Set the politics aside and embrace just a little bit of humanity to let everyone's voice be heard. Be a true American

Divine - Excellent post by your niece.

I have become entranced with this - GA is down to 4,000 votes between Drumph and Biden. Could Georgia actually go BLUE??
And Big D's lead in PA has dropped to a mere 65K too. If it doesn't make a difference, at least it makes a point.

Just saw a bit of Trump spewing lies. At this point I just consider them proof of life. Barely.

This is why I keep fighting. I have two children and one grandson who are mixed race. My ex-husband is Hawaiian Chinese and my oldest daughter and son have black hair, brown eyes and brown skin. They have both been harrassed by police and others for the color of their skin. I will never "compromise " with anyone who considers them as less than.

Divine: Love your niece's post. Excellent.
And pardon me while I scream: GEORGIA!!!! GO GEORGIA!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!! PLEASE FLIP BLUE SO WE HAVE ONE BLUE STATE IN THE SOUTH!!!
Especially after all the voting crap that was pulled in 2018, purging voters from the rolls, that tight governor race, etc.
I want PA too. I have several friends up there, and I want their state to be the one to push Joe over 270. GO PA!!
I am actually feeling encouraged. I was in the depths of despair on Weds AM, but now,,,, still holding my breath, but feeling hopeful.
Edited to say: Spookie, did you ever think I would cheer for Georgia? LOL LOL

Trish - Exactly! I am a visible minority, but my kids are "white passing". I cannot tolerate racists, and people who say "Chinese virus" or "Wuhan flu" tell me exactly who they are. I see it even on this site, and I can read between the lines.

Love Greta!!
Biden has Arizona, which means he's up to 264.....so
Trump has LOST.
Trump's at 213.
If he wins Nevada, that's 219.
THEN if he wins Pennsylvania, that's 239.
THEN if he wins Georgia, that's 255.
THAT'S ALL THE VOTES LEFT.
That's it.

Love Greta SO MUCH!

I'm with you Glennie. I want Pennsylvania to push Joe over the finish line. My late mother was born in Mckeesport (sp?). She lived in Hershey and Williamsport until moving to Santa Cruz when she was eleven. I have a soft spot in my heart for such a beautiful state.
I'm watching Harry Reid and John Ralston both say Nevada is a definite win for Biden. Small sigh of relief.

OMG, Anderson Cooper, HAHAHAHAHA! Calling it just like it is!
I loathe when I hear people say the China flu, it is egregious to hear it from Trump or read it in print, but to hear people I know drop it so effing casually in conversation makes me want to rip their tonsils out. I think Trump kept saying it because he hoped it would be a catch phrase that caught on bigly, like “lock her up”.
I would love for Georgia to go blue. PA too, since it’s Joe’s home state and ds lives there and voted for him.
Well, the demeanor of the news reporters, anchors, journalists and moderators seems to be lifting and they appear to be a bit freer in what they say as seen in Anderson Cooper above. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna see Chuck Todd pirouette when the results of a Biden win are final.

I too would love to see a southern state go blue! OR Pennsylvania--to get that Blue Wall up good! But also to make an inroad in the south.......
I heard today that Pennsylvania would know by 9 p.m. tonight....wow.......
Trump was such a fool speaking tonight......blithering away insanely...but he did look a bit defeated...like wind gone out of his sails.....
So refreshing to see even a HINTof this after years of bluster. lies, indecency!

Trish, my mother in law grew up in Dravosburg, PA which is 5 minutes from McKeesport. And one of my favorite vacations was in Hershey.
PA, OH and WV are all similarly beautiful, yet of the 3, PA has a more elegant, refined, classy feel to it, I think because of its history and it being an original colony. I tell ds that Ohio is like PA's country cousin and WV is like the hillbilly relative they’re not sure they want to claim. But it's all in good humor because I absolutely love WV, dh's dad was from there and it has many great qualities along with some issues.

I'v had the song "Georgia on my mind" in my head all day. I keep watching the numbers, refreshing, watching the numbers again. It gets better and better. Even if we don't win Georgia, we have a good chance, but if the Orange Buffoon loses Georgia, I think it makes it harder for him to fight that the election was stolen.

Somewhere in my reading today I saw something about the Senate race in Georgia. They may need to do a runoff election in January. If it happens and the Dems win, the Senate would be 50-50, Moscow Mitch wouldn’t be leader, Ms Harris would be tie Breaker. Stacy Adams will really help here.
Glennie, no I didn’t hahahaha. Woof. Game Saturday.
