From the religion classes of my youth, I seem to remember that in order to be forgiven for your wrongdoing; you have to repent for your sin, ask for forgiveness, and finally make restitution to those you have wronged. A friend who goes to AA says those are same steps for an alcoholic in recovery. I don't see Trump and/or his Republican minions even on Step One.

I think Goodman deserves the medal of freedom. That was as close to combat as you can get in Washington.

Trump wants to give himself a military-style send-off on Inauguration Day.....hmmmm.....

Hey, Trump, I have an idea for you:

    Climb into a cannon and

GET SHOT TO HELL FROM IT!

Why would the military go along with this asshat's request? What is his motive for it? Other than to feed his overinflated ego.

Along those lines, it's nice to hear that the NRA has declared bankruptcy! Yay! Yay! Way to go, NRA!!

Trump Wants To Give Himself Military Honors As He Flees DC

The White House is considering giving Trump a red carpet, military band, and 21 gun salute when he leaves DC on January 20.

Trump remains as ever totally delusional. The fact that he has to "suggest" that it take place should tell him something. I guess it is difficult to realize ( since he actually experienced it himself -- not that he earned it ) that you are NOT the one who will enjoy the pomp and circumstance of being received and celebrated as the incoming President/Commander-in-Chief for 2020. Reps. have a list of things he did they think is wonderful, but as we have often stated and Trump has proved many times over he is the worst president ever.

He has disgraced our country, the ofc. of Pres. the U.S. citizens, his family and himself to the point of abuse. Yes he should be shot out of a cannon or met by U.S. Marshalls and hauled to one of the federal Hoosegows. He is pathetic and without hope. I would imagine he needs to have this show -- where he will be able to convince himself that he is loved and all wish to salute him for his wonderful service. Of course, it is a given that all understand the presidency was fraudulently wrested from his tiny hands. Surely why they are giving him such a beautiful send off -- the biggest and best that anyone has ever had. No one else was ever considered for it. HINT: No one else has been a total con and criminal as well as an insane misfit who has left tannish on everything he touched. It is the only kind of person who would think to SEND himself off in a style befitting royalty of some strange kind.

By the way -- NRA to leave New York and move to Texas. I enjoyed the state of Texas while I was there ( stationed in San Antonio for school ), but I have to say Texas would quite likely love having the NRA there. I bet they wish they weren't broke though.

Jackie, I suggest we put the Pillow Guy and Trump in the cannon together --- along with a My Pillow--that should cushion them nicely!

My suggestion for a military sendoff is to send one drummer and one horn player saying all others are busy welcoming the new team. And if it is still raining there, how about a shortage of umbrellas?

Too bad those of us who live in Texas don't have anything to say about the NRA move. ERGH!!! Just what we DON'T need. Or about our corrupt Attorney General apparently.

So I notified my credit union, transferred all the money from my checking account, notified Pay-Pal, and THEY directed me to NOT click anything, DO NOT CALL THEM, and they said it is a phishing email. DO NOT CALL THEM, BECAUSE THEN THEY WILL CALL YOU.

Makes me mad, because I just got a NEW debit card, because someone tried to charge 2 amounts of almost $150 ! Got that taken care of, new card, and NOW THIS! Damnit! I still had my old card! Now I have zero in my checking! But I will use cash.

Chevyboy, I get these frequently. I check my accounts and verify that I have not been charged and then I delete the email. No consequences so far from essentially ignoring the email. So if you get another one, consider doing the same.

Thanks Jels.... Man, I'm too old for this stuff! Makes my heart drop when I see stuff like that. Yes, I followed what PayPal suggested, read all the OTHER people who got the same email, then marked it as Spam, then deleted it! No money was in my account to take..... Not like the last time.... STILL don't know how THAT happened, as I still had my card, and always kept it in a metal case in my purse. Those charges went right through ! But I reported it all, and not charged! Live and learn I guess.... Thanks for your advice!

    And glad I didn't call !!!!

Once we see that everything is impermanent and ungraspable and that we create a huge amount of suffering if we are attached to things staying the same, we realize that relaxing and letting go is a wiser way to live. Letting go does not mean not caring about things. It means caring about them in a flexible and wise way. -Jack Kornfield

Glad the NRA is NOT going to get a pass and that full prosecution will take place no matter how they try to dicker with their status. I also liked the part that said they might never make it out of NY. Texas just might be getting a break. I could be okay with that. There are only selected pieces of Texas that bother me. One is Ted Cruz and another one is Ted Cruz, so thanks for the info Spookiesmom.

I am on the one had amused that Trump is going to likely give himself some sort of far over-rated send-off. As one of the pieces said -- too bad he isn't smart enough to realize how so much of the world will see that -- if they even bother to look. I do think some of it will show up on TV though. He is such a disgrace to thinking sane people and his actions have been nothing any reasonable person would consider celebrating in the way he seems to be thinking about. A red carpet -- really !!! Well he was a tv reality star at one time. Now he is the dud of the millennium. People ( thinking Kellyanne from Bill Maher ) want to specify what was good about Trump and the good things he did. Well, that is their opinion. The astounding number of missteps, shenanigans and total failures that in some cases are criminal outweigh anything any of these people have to say.

He was insane when he began and he is insane as he leaves. That is all I really need to know at this point. If I need any proof -- all I need to do is look at his plans. And I might add -- he is leaving early enough so that he can arrive at his destination point with the plane he will be on still bearing the designation Air Force One -- Presidential plane. This means something to him, but absolutely nothing to me. The REAL president will have no need of a plane -- wo withholding it and using it to the last degree is fairly childish, or in other words, who gives a rats patoot. Trump though has got to keep reminding himself he is number one when he is basically a total zero and complete failure with all the latest lawsuits ( having gone nowhere ) to prove it. Adios you depraved misfit.

I found this an interesting read. In addition to having to perhaps spend huge blocks of time trying to defend himself -- including trying to find reputable lawyers to take him on which alone I'd think would be difficult it may be hard to hang in and keep himself spot-lighted.

Trump's absence will be felt on social media - but not by his most extreme supporters

Researchers who study "deplatforming," or the sweeping form of digital banishment that President Donald Trump received after the Capitol riot, say that while his social media reach may be limited, it could make his rabid base more extreme.

Without a megaphone to distribute his views on social media, Trump would have a difficult time influencing other media or finding new people to build his audience. His most hardened fans, though, will inevitably find a place to communicate and organize, researchers said.
