I saw the news a couple days ago that Jill Biden underwent a “common medical procedure” on Wednesday and was accompanied to the outpatient center by her husband. She was there a couple hours. Nothing more was revealed.
This concerns me as my thoughts go to something like a breast biopsy. I worry about her health.

Could have been colonoscopy

I would think something like a colonoscopy would be more common.

Colonoscopy is what came into my mind too.

Mine too as DH had a colonoscopy and we were there a bit less than two hours!

Epistemophobia: Fear of Knowledge. Arizona senator Barto apparently suffers from this phobia. Her bill: H.SB 1456 forbids any instruction from K thru 12 regarding sexuality, gender identity or gender expression. (Sec. 1). School districts may provide instruction to pupils in kindergarten through grade 12 on acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Instruction must be grade-level appropriate, medically accurate, promote abstinence, discourage drug abuse and dispel myths regarding the transmission of HIV (A.R.S. § 15-716). A parent has the right to opt their pupil out of instruction on AIDS (A.R.S. § 15-102).
Orwellian is the only term I can think of that would not get me censured.

Sounds like Tennessee's "Don't Say Gay" law. Notice how "school districts may provide instruction on AIDS", but are not obligated to do so.
If anyone has a teen in their life (or wants to get a copy for their local high school where sex-ed has been gutted), I highly recommend this one:
"Let's Talk About It", Erica Moen and Matthew Nolan
It's in graphic novel format, so it's very accessible to teens even if they're not big on reading. The authors are queer and bi, respectively, and address all kinds of sexuality and relationships including not wanting a relationship. It also covers changing bodies, emotions, and navigating the social circles of encroaching adulthood. Two thumbs up!

What is even scarier than the wacko views of the Arizona senator and other legislators, is that they got elected in the first place. What this says about their voters scares the heck out of me.

There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of the birds, the ebb and flow of the tides, the folded bud ready for the spring. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter. -Rachel Carson

This would be great but the Reps. seem a bit more interested in control thru religion -- they don't really believe - it's just a tool for them. To really live it -- I don't think that will happen.

Proud to be a U.S. Citizen again and having a great night's sleep every night is icing on the cake.

I think he could end up in jail yet, but not in the least surprised that the trump troupe had dirty deeds coming to light quite a lot now. I read Pompeo and wife were caught using taxpayer money so that government people could run their little errands for them. I think Pompeo said it was no big deal ( despite taxpayers having to pony up for it ) since it was just things you'd ask a friend to do. That may be -- but no taxpayers had to pay my friends for doing something for me.

Happiness birthed by joy is an inside decision. You must fight against the human tendency to be hurt by someone else's failure to see your needs. You must become an incurable optimist, not an optimist that wears rose-colored glasses and does not see the reality of life; rather, an optimist that says, "Thanks to God I am filled with joy, a joy that transcends all of life." -Elizabeth B. Brown

Love the taxation without representation meme.

On His 87th Day In Office, Joe Biden Finally Plays Golf
President Joe Biden finally played a round of golf on Saturday, which is a big departure from Trump who had 19 golf outings in his first 100 days.

Karma is simply the law of cause and effect. If you plant an apple seed, you don't a get a mango tree. If we practice hatred or greed, it becomes our way and the world responds accordingly. If we practice awareness or loving-kindness, it becomes our way and the world responds accordingly. We are heirs to the results of our actions, to the intentions we bring to every moment we initiate. We make ripples upon the ocean of the universe through our very presence. -Christina Feldman and Jack Kornfield

There is always something to do. There are hungry people to feed, naked people to clothe, sick people to comfort and make well. And while I don't expect you to save the world I do think it's not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary and remove from your life those who offer you depression, despair and disrespect.

Ruth, what Mazie H. said was perfect. I stay hopeful almost all the time now. I think ( hope ) not only my outlook but my ability ( horribly missing these last four yrs. before Biden ) to be cheerful and looking forward to life and looking for hope and happiness all through my daily life and experiences with others and when I am alone even is returning. I don't feel the internal turmoil what felt before like 24 hrs. a day. Mazie is right -- I think a lot of good health benefits may be returning to those who prefer to have a mainly positive outlook and response to everything and everyone.
