I wish you to be right there with her in jail so you can console each other. Good one, Janet.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help that would never otherwise have occurred. A stream of events issues from the decision, raising unforeseen incidents and meeting and material assistance, which no person could have dreamt would have come his or her way.

I do think the situation Trump is wishing he could create is going to have to be repaired. All sorts of payments, to people, or to companies go thru the mail, in addition to so much medication. I get my medication thru the mail as well. I think the push back will be heavy. I am VERY concerned about timing though. So, I do think if anyone plans for sure on voting by mail that they should accomplish it sooner rather than later.

And boy is it ugly.

Keep wondering -- are the Reps. hoping that Trump just might be able ( with some enabling from them ) to pull off a fraudulent election. Not something I would bet on at all. I think the rabbit hole is beaconing to them strongly and if I were a Reps. I don't think my nerves ( they seem to have a fair amt. ) could take it.

I find it interesting that Drumph said Harris was a "nasty woman" in how she treated Brett Kavanaugh during his SCOTUS hearings. She wasn't nearly as nasty to him as he was to Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez.

Just a little review of some of Trumps falsehoods and failures recently.
- Trump's insistence on reopening the economy during an active and ongoing pandemic has not resulted in sustained economic improvements. Multiple outlets reported this week that hiring slowed in July, with 3 million fewer jobs added compared to June due to virus-related business closures.
- The New York Times reported on August 12 that as many as three dozen current and former members of a federal health advisory committee have warned that the Trump administration's new data collection system will place an undue burden on hospitals and will compromise the integrity of the data that is essential to tracking the pandemic. So far, the system has resulted in both collection delays and quality-control problems.
"I think it's been amazing what we've been able to do," Trump bragged about the U.S. coronavirus response on August 10. But the truth is that he and his administration have done nothing to address the severity and urgency of this crisis.
Also:
This week, Florida and Georgia reported the highest single-day COVID-19 death tolls since the pandemic began spreading in the U.S. Outbreaks are on the rise in four Midwestern states that had largely been spared in the pandemic's early months. The case count in the U.S. has now surpassed 5 million.
Our country has led the world in the number of confirmed cases and deaths for more than a month, but Donald Trump still thinks that he and his administration have done a "fantastic job" of handling the coronavirus. This couldn't be further from the truth.
On August 13, Trump said that he's actively trying to defund the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) because Democrats are seeking to expand mail-in voting during this public health crisis to ensure that every eligible voter is able to cast their vote safely. However, his attempts to hamper the USPS are already having serious consequences for Americans aside from election-related issues, from negatively impacting struggling businesses to delaying the delivery of vital medications. New data from John Hopkins University revealed that it took only two weeks for the U.S. to log the most recent million confirmed cases. During that time period, the average number of COVID-19 tests being conducted declined about 12 percent nationwide, largely due to the lack of a national testing strategy. COVID-19 infections among children in Florida rose 137 percent over the past month, and a study by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association found that at least 97,000 children nationwide were infected during the last two weeks of July. Yet Trump aides have dismissed the potential for outbreaks in schools as "inevitable," and on August 12, Trump incorrectly claimed that "99.9 percent" of those who died from COVID-19 were adults.0 -
That's the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth:

I so miss this man. What a fantastic President ( with faults and mistakes ) but nothing so tragic as the mess we have been in this last four yrs.

I won’t have my meds delivered by mail, too hot here for that. Some do, and maybe that’s the only way to get them. Doesn’t that orange piece of shit realize they vote? Piss enough off, they’ll go Biden. If they’re dead, neither gets a vote.
And he has requested mail vote for himself, cause FloriDuh is safe. But nowhere else is.

Spookie, Call your Senators and bitch at them. Tell each of them that you've voted Republican your whole life but are going to vote straight Dem if they don't get Trump under control because you get your medication by mail. Believe me, the staffer you reach will right it down and it will be passed on.
I called the Little Rock office. My DH called the Jonesboro office. My sister called the DC office. We made it look like we were legion. Phone calls really work.

FloriDUH really isn't safe for the POS. Biden has been ahead or tied there in recent polls. How sweet it would be if that state announced Biden won right out of the gate!

Um, Marco Rubio and Rick Scott won’t lift a hair against orange slime. Neither would my gov, DeSantis.

We didn't make it about voting. We made the slow down about receiving medication. My husband is a veteran so he included that. One thing to remember about politicians is they are always worried about the next election.

I called my board of elections a couple weeks ago to see about getting mail-in ballots. I was told I had two options. 1) They could send me the form to request a mail-in ballot immediately, or 2) I could wait until just after Labor Day when the form to request a mail-in ballot is being mailed to all Ohio voters. I said, “oh, I’ll have it mailed to me now, thanks.” Dh and I got the forms and sent them back already. You can bet I will be driving the filled-outballots down to the BOE and dropping them off there.

You'd be surprised, spookuesmom. If they get enough angry phone calls, emails and letters they will push back. Call your Representative first. They are all up for reelection in November. Even in a safe district, they know if enough people are pissed off about this, they could be in trouble.
I live in a blue city, in a blue county in one the bluest states in the country. I'm contacting everyone on Monday, including my state reps. I want them to know how angry people are so they all push back. Trump will back down. He always does when confronted. That's what bullies do.

Silence must be comprehended as not solely the absence of sound. It is the natural environment for serenity and contemplation. Life without silence is life without privacy. The difference between sanity and madness is the quality of our thoughts. Silence is on the side of sanity.

It is hard to imagine the number of people Trump has made mad. In the last few weeks he has done everything back-asswerds ( had to add that last "word" to my dictionary ) if at all and has once again taken things away from people. No one likes this and I think far worse when it is such a long-standing part of the American way and life. I do think lots of push back will make him cave, but it is un-nerving that on one of the news programs I heard that many of these sorting machines are being destroyed or just taken to a dump. I am concerned that there be enough time for things to work out right.
