To be a miracle worker you do not have to get a doctoral
degree, become a minister, eat a particular food, or be
able to meditate for long hours. All you need to do is to
begin to see beauty in your life and those around you.

I do think of the Reps party question as who isn't nuts now??? Going wrong for some time but they appear to have passed the point of ANY rational reason. How they have managed to convince themselves that not only they, but their constituents also want the antics and horrid judgment they display, is well beyond my apparent very limited perception. Between them and the weakling SPOTH it seems numerous fiascos' will be the order of the day. It is lousy to contemplate. even if I think in the end it will ruin the Reps. I just remain amazed that these people try to pretend they are doing something good. I never dreamed there were that many people in this world with that amt. of mental distortions.
I hope we are able to stay strong because the next two years are going to seem like such a long time if we keep having to deal with insanity every single day, all day long.

An excellent summary of why the 30% sales tax is a Bad Idea (TM):
"The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness."

The trouble with us is that we expect too much from the great happenings, the unusual things, and we overlook the common flowers on the path of life, from which we might abstract sweets, comforts, delights.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth in one meme.
Talk about a room full of holier-than-thou characters whose self-opinion is magnificent to say the least. They are all so serious about their oath. An exercise wasted on them because they didn't listen to what they were saying -- never meant one word of it.
