Yeah, it’s the “moms for liberty” types who quashed the equal rights amendment back in the Betty Crocker days. If anyone watched the Netflix show “Mrs. America”, it ‘s a fictionalized account about Phyllis Schlaffly and her efforts to fight against equal rights for women and minorities. The show is well done so I recommend it. The odd part is, Phyllis was so accomplished as a woman yet never seemed to grasp that by embracing the patriarchy, she limited her opportunities. At one point, she was passed over for an appt in Reagan’s cabinet but that was after she did everything she could to get him elected. So go figure.

This has nothing to do with politics but I thought some might enjoy this. My younger dd recommended a podcast called Scamanda (on Spotify). It’s about a young woman who spent about seven years faking Hodgkins Lymphoma. I have a weird fascination with people who are cancer fakers. My fascination stems from the fact that I find faking disease to be unfathomable . I figure if I keep reading /hearing these things I will figure out what makes a person do such an unbelievable thing. The other piece is that much of the tale unfolds in the San Jose/Los Gatos are which is where I live. Oddly, I have no memory of this case ( about 2016) nor does my dd. Check it out.

Exbrnxgrl, that is interesting indeed. It is quite weird that anyone wishes to be ill, save for maybe un-prepared students having a test to take. All kidding aside, I was long back home here and didn't live in that part of Ca. when I did live in the state. Sounds like a strange form of Munchausen's Syndrome or something.

As I turn my thoughts to God, my life becomes a prayer. I do not need to go away
to a mountaintop or seclude myself in a sacred place to spend time in prayer. I need
only to turn my thoughts inward and open my mind and heart to God. In this way,
I make whatever I am doing a prayer. As I prepare a meal, I am grateful for the food,
and as I clean my house, I am grateful for the restful haven it provides me. As I
walk in the park, I feel a sense of oneness with all life in the world around me. As I go
through my workday, I am God's instrument of good in the world, and what I
do and say is an expression of God.
The more I turn my thoughts to God, the more my life becomes a prayer.

The last two days, I have received emails from Donald J Trump. One was about George Soros and Joe Biden, the other about his 4th of July address. Both asking for money, of course. One was from a GOP email address, the other DJT re-election. I’ve never been a registered Republican, so I’m not sure how they got my email. 😩
People who fake illness or fake their children’s illness are sick. It’s unfortunate to see scammers take advantage of people’s generosity.
